It's less oppressive today at 85 with 70% humidity hahaha

I just had a swim for the first time in about a month. Only 800 yards (breaststroke) but it felt good. As much as I've been in pools lately it's been with RJ, so I haven't swam laps in a while.

...It's 73 degrees with a nice breeze here haha. I will tell you that in Lafayette (near San Francisco) it was 104 the other day, that doesn't happen there!

I had (what I believe) is my last meeting at my old company!!! I'm going to turn-in my laptop when I'm by that way. Woo hoo! This morning I got up and started cleaning out my cupboards and closets. We are having the house tented next week and it's a good excuse to go through everything. Now that we're almost done with the storage building we will start on the art studio. We laid out furniture with sizes so I know what furniture I can get rid of.

It's been interesting being full time on building, moving and cleaning. Yesterday I was super sore so my husband asked if it was my ankle or knee and I laughed, telling him it wasn't my old injuries, it was run of the mill muscle soreness. He works on the house every day so he doesn't get sore any more, he just has very solid muscles...and that's what I'm going to build!

I do not look forward to similar parent issues as we all age... I essentially have 6 parents. My Pop Pop insisted on staying in his own house and kept his car. He passed at 93 years old and was active to the last. He would stay overnights in a nearby nursing home when my Dad was away on vacations! I'm sure the nurses got a kick out of it. He'd sleep there, eat breakfast, go home for the day and come back in the evening lol

I hope your staying comfortable in this heat Heather. I'm on the same page in that I'm trying to enjoy it, but it sure is hot!

We splashed around in Dad's pool in the woods yesterday, today we're heading to my mom's pool club which is much more sunny.

I certainly hear the parent issues! We have been going up to SF almost every day. We moved my (step) mother-in-law to an end of life home and my father-in-law to an older community. Her first day there (yesterday) she was clawing and screaming (sigh). My father-in-law likes his new place, but he wants to hold off selling the house in case he changes his mind (he's turning 97 this year). We've moved stuff to her place and stuff to his place...I told my husband that if he decides to move back, he can pay a mover...I'm getting too old for this cr@p. It's two families - hers and her kids and his and us kids. Ten kids between them...gee, that doesn't even sound fun when writing this - lol.

It's a good thing that I am retired!

Good Morning!!! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. It sure is hot and humid here on the east coast. But fear not, fall is coming! Only a few more weeks of the hot weather, and I frankly am doing my best to enjoy it, because I like it a whole lot more than I like the cold!!!

We sold some candles at the farmer's market yesterday, and it was fun to be there, even if it was pretty hot.

My mom was in the hospital last week. My dad just told me last night. He didn't want to bother me!! So now I'm trying to figure out getting down there for a visit without disrupting them. If it's as serious as it seems, I'd kind of like to get down there before it's too late. Ugh. But it's really hard to tell with my parents, as my mom has been sick most of her life really. I told my dad if he needs me to get on the phone and get them appointments or push the doctors, I can use my NJ skills to do that. :) He said he might take me up on that!

Anyway, stay cool if you're hot on the east coast like I am!

Have a FUN and ACTIVE day!!
