Leg cramps....thanks for all the suggestions. This is what I wound up doing yesterday and it worked. I sipped on Gatorade all day....no cramping in legs last night. I'm always amazed at what a "fine tuned machine" our bodies are and when one thing is out of whack how it affects us.

Carol, that is so difficult. I had a house fire 15 years ago, and reading about your fire brought everything back to me as though it was yesterday.

My husband and I have been a bit busy. On Tuesday evening we were whisked out of our 5th floor apartment due to a big fire on the 2nd floor. My husband had been in the shower and was whisked out in his long robe and slippers into the 10 degrees outside and having to walk over to the nearby school's gym. I had my pants and top on and had a coat on. We were just allowed to come back into our apartment a couple of hours ago after being in a motel since Tuesday night.

Just wondering.......leg and feet muscle cramps??? Last couple nights have been getting these frequently. So painful. Must jump out of bed and stand to relieve the cramp. Could this really be from lack of drinking water? I think I heard that before....and, my water consumption has nosedived recently. emoticon emoticon

Sloppy Joe recipe looks good. Yum!

Nice weather today. Its supposed to get cooler by Friday. Hopefully just rain and no snow like we usually get. We need the moisture! My daffodils are getting ready to bloom and my tulips are pushing up with a vengeance. I have crocuses already in bloom. So pretty.

Made it to my strength class today. Going to need the Advil tomorrow. lol

Thanks MaryAlice!I bet you make an amazing chili!
Living in Cincinnati, chili is completely different. "Cincinnati chili is a Mediterranean-spiced meat sauce used as a topping for spaghetti or hot dogs, both dishes developed by Greek-Macedonian immigrant restaurateurs in the 1920s. (Wikipedia)"
I make my own with ground turkey but my favorite style is actually white chicken chili!

Nancy you can add chopped spinach to almost any sauce, chili, or beans, people won't notice it.

This is from a 5th generation Texan, most people won't believe it, but in Texas anyway chili didn't use have meat in it. It was beans on the trail and whatever was in the garden tossed in at home. The first chili cook offs you were disqualified if you added meat. I make chili with beans often, and add veggies to it. I have made veggie chili also. It has beans for protein and the veggies do best if added at the last 1/2 hour they are simmering or use dense veggies. When I'm in a hurry I use chopped veggies and caned beans. I can make chili in 30 mins this way.

I love the idea of adding veggies to sloppy joes. I've been using ground turkey in place of ground beef for a few years now. I don't even miss the red meat!
Has anybody tried roasted green peas? I pick some up from the grocery store and wasn't sure what to expect. They're actually a pretty tasty snack! Another serving of veggies!
Not sure where are nice spring temps went. I just got back from a walk it was windy and 42 degrees! But I hit my step goal by 3:00 this afternoon That's a rare occasion for me, especially during the week. But I was off work today! I also tried couple videos from SparkPeople TV. Good variety!

I make sloppy joes with lentils. I don't like cramps so no meat.

Mutt and I went for out for a walk in the fog this morning. Fog to the north, east and west, Stars shining bright to the south. Jupiter and Saturn out in all their glory. Yes i walk country roads in the dark. No street lights, no sidewalks and no head light.

Per the police when walking in the dark

wear reflective clothing I wear a reflective vest with pockets.

Carry ID. I have an old drivers license in one pocket

Carry a flashlight. Thats in the pocket also.

carry a cell phone , another pocket

tell someone that isn't walking with you and will be near a phone what route you are taking and when you will be home. Don't forget to call if you stop and will be late.

Walk with a buddy, mine has 4 feet.

These are good anytime you are walking or hiking.

occasionally like sloppy Joe's but usually are too high in calories, this one is with turkey, go the recipe from mayo clinic thought this a good one to shae.

This sloppy joe recipe offers a healthy twist on the traditional version because it skips ingredients that provide added sugar, and includes lean ground turkey meat, spices and plenty of veggies — such as zucchini, bell peppers and carrots. You can't go wrong with this crowd-pleasing dish that everyone can feel good about eating!

Turkey veggie sloppy joes

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground turkey breast meat (or 12 ounces soy-based crumbles)
1/2 medium onion, finely chopped (about 3/4 cup)
1 medium carrot, finely chopped
1/2 medium green bell pepper, chopped
1 1/2 cups zucchini, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 can low-sodium tomato paste (6 ounces) 1 1/2 cups water
1 tablespoon mild chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
5 ounces reduced-fat cheddar cheese, thinly sliced 10 whole-wheat hamburger buns

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté ground turkey until browned, about 7 minutes. Add onion and sauté 2 minutes. Add carrot and green pepper and sauté 2 minutes. Add zucchini and garlic and sauté 2 minutes more.

Add tomato paste and water, stirring until the paste has dissolved. Add chili powder, paprika, oregano and pepper. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook until the mixture has thickened, about 10 minutes.

Preheat broiler. Divide cheese among the bottom halves of the hamburger buns. Transfer both halves of the buns to the broiler, open-faced, and toast until the cheese has melted and the buns are toasted.

Remove buns from the broiler and fill each sandwich with the meat-vegetable mixture. Serve immediately.

Serves 10.

Today was beautiful in midcoast Maine. Blue skies emoticon 50 degrees. It actually did feel like spring. Some of the snow was melting and considering we got 2 ft. in one day last week, we've got plenty to melt. Come on 50's and 60's for real. I'm sick of snow and freezing my butt.

Yea for Springfield weather! I'm only half kidding. It being the first day of spring, you would think the weather would act accordingly; not so much. Granted, it is definitely not cold, but we had temps up to 80 today. The weather in Springfield is completely topsy turvy, but I've been here long enough that I have learned to roll with it. I'd rather have warm weather than freeze, so small favors I guess.

I'm getting ready for a kitchen remodel. I spent all weekend packing up and getting rid of stuff in my kitchen. I can't wait to see the end result!

Hi everyone. I was away for a few days now I am back. Its finally starting to warm up her and I am just loving it. I can go outside for my walks again.

I know I can do this, and I know we can all do this as long as we are willing to try.

Sunshine finally in Seattle. Gearing up for the new challenge after finishing the winter challenge. Right now, just getting through the new challenge of all the changes on SP. I'm not happy and do not enjoy my time on it.

I hope everyone has a good day! I am getting my laundry washed in preparation for my mini-vacation this week. It will be nice getting away with good friends and I will be able to swim at their indoor pool. We also play cards and board games and there are no phones as there isn't good service. It makes me sad my streak will be broken as my computer won't work there either, but I will come home ready and eager to start the spring challenge. I am taking a fresh fruit salad and my best friend has diabetes, so the food the others bring will be healthy too, so I hope to lose or at least maintain my weight.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable Sunday!
I woke up, started cleaning & am now taking a coffee break to catch up on Spark.
I'm hoping the sun comes out & warms things up so I can go out for a nice nature walk.
