Today is the coldest day since last February.
The temp is just 15 degrees outside.
I'm dressing in my warmest clothes today! No outside walk for me. I have a stationary bike and an elliptical in my living room.

I keep my garden going right up to the last moment, and start as early in the Spring as I can.
I'm already thinking about when to plant. Even though I've had a few touches of frost, I keep my parsley covered, and my kale is still out there.

Kale has been my dominant crop. I am starting to freeze kale for smoothies in the winter.
I eat kale every single day.
My basil as also been a great crop. The zucchini and summer squash produced a few, and the cucumber vines gave us one cuke.
Next year, we will switch over to chicken manure instead of the cow manure.

Yesterday I started my "domestic workout-raking leaves! It will probably take me all week to finish. I plan on spending 2-3 hours a day raking the lawn. Maybe it doesn't sound very exciting to you, but I love it! I'm always satisfied with a nice looking lawn and satisfaction of having my property look better.
With any luck, my husband will also come out and rake with me. He is also starting up the garden. We will make our annual trip out to a local farm and get a load of aged, organic manure. It's a very good fertilizer, and every year we take the truck and trailer out to East Washington to the Ekhart farm for a $30 load of the stuff.
That's just what gardeners do in our parts of New Hampshire.
