working on intuitive eating. sometimes i get annoyed because i am still nervous that i physically can't chew certaom foods. the dentures either are not very strong or become loose and i have to reglue during a meal. on a positive moment, when grocery shopping i did not buy and frozed diet dinners. i have been cooking enough at home to provide me with leftovers during the week, not everything is from scratch but still better then store bought,

ive had my intermidate dentures for about 2 months. i can eat seeds but i was not successful tonight at biting through a whole almond but i did eat a salad today. its good to be eating more whole raw foods again

after my oral surgery i cant chew so for a bout the past week i have been eating foods that cant be chewed. i am annoyed vecause i have a ton of cucumbers in my garden. i few night ago i couldn't take it anymore. i chopped them finely but i was still swallowng chunks so i threw them in a food processor with some small tomatoes. it made a type of relish. i mixed it in my tuna. it was yummy and i added an extra cup if freggies to my diet.
my appetite is very screwy. i am generally not tired. my stomach growls once i a while but i have no appetite. it may be cramps. or my body is annoyed because for the last week i am getting about half the calories as normal. i cought some meal shakes to pump up my protein but it is annoying when you dont really want to eat.

have a family get together tomorrow. i offered to bring a salad. my mom wanted a desert. i did not want to bake today because it was hot so i though of no bake stuff and i came up with an apple grape salad. wi had to go to the store to get some fruit so i also picked up some cookies, so my mom should be happy with the options.

i found a new flavored water. no sugar or artifical items added to it. i still want pop but i am working on different beverages. i am thinking of making cold brew iced tea to see if i like that.

i went to taco hell yesterday. fast food mexican food.. nuff said. to fatty, loades with salt and only good for a couple bites them gut ache. i crave it a lot but dont make it often

i decided today i am going to only make my own. i can use leaner meat or no meat, real beans not refired, loads of leafy greens, a bunch of tomatoes, bell peppers and a little plain avacado instead of salty guacamole.

Today i made homemade chicken soup. i did use store bought stock with lower sodium and a whole chicken i cooked the chicken in my slowcooker. let it boil and the meat cam out moist and tender. then i strained th liquid to get out and undesireable chunks. and then added finly chopped veggies. i added a can of drained white beans and mushrooms. it is good but different from what i am used to eating. it is a bit bland. i added some seasonings but not a lot of salt. may have to play around more with the recipe to get the right balance. eithet that or stop eating canned salty soups.

After all the running yesterday and today, I'm taking the rest of today easy. My Christmas shopping is done and mailed out. It will take me days to recover from all the walking yesterday and next to no sleep last night due to being over tired and restless legs. But no plans for the rest of the week.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend. Bob got his nebulizer and medication for it today. We're hoping the home treatments will help open his lungs up a little more. He did the first treatment a few minutes ago.

We did pretty well with the sale yesterday. Sold all of Bob's big wood working equipment, sold the smoker and charcoal grill, sold a bunch of yard tools, sold over 100 books, a few angels, and a few small kitchen appliances. We did enough yesterday that we decided not to have one today as well. We were pretty worn out by the time we stopped yesterday but made slightly over $400.00.

I hope it works out that he may feel better after he gets this.

Bob saw his lung doctor today and it's been determined he also has COPD so the doctor has ordered him a home nebulizer to help with his breathing. He should be getting that in the next few days. The company that supplies his oxygen will also supply the nebulizer and the medicine that goes in it. Luckily his medicare will cover the cost 100%.

Went out to the garage this morning and did some of the prep work for the garage sale. I'd do what I could then sit a few minutes and rest my back. I swear, Bob thinks I should be able to go, go, go and it not affect my back. Plus I get so hot the sweat pours off of me when I'm out there and again Bob doesn't understand it. He thinks because he doesn't get as sweaty then it shouldn't bother me either. But he doesn't take in consideration my back plus I'm carrying a good 130 lbs. more weight than I should be. I do what I can as I'm able. But I'm not going to push myself to the point I'm in pain for days afterwards. But I sure get tired of him raising hell or trying to treat me like a 10 year old with no sense. Just makes me want to tell him to keep his mouth shut ( but not in such a ladylike way).

Things are finally calming down around here which is great. Bob went for lab work this morning and we'll find out how he's doing Tuesday when he sees his cardiologist. The initial call last week wasn't good about his echogram but he's been following doctor's orders the last few days so hoping there's a slight improvement.
My eating has gotten better and the weight is dropping, which is a good thing. Just want it to continue.

It's about to be a tough day for me. I have a wake this afternoon for someone I have cared for at work for about 20 years! It will be tough avoiding the junk food today... emoticon

AURA-I am gluten intolerant so parties are usually fine for me, unless they have chips or fries! Then I am doomed! I take a party as a cheat day, and then just move on afterward.

I usually have a glass or two of wine after dinner with DH. I am planning on cutting out on that and substituting with herbal tea. Cutting the wine will the cut the calories for me.

The question is good timing because I have been avoiding alcohol & coffee to lose weight, past 5 months. I stopped hot coffee b/c I was adding too much cream until couple weeks ago I started making Cold-Brew coffee with less acidity. Avoiding coffee and alcohol worked out well because I drink 8-10 cups of water everyday. I drink 4-6 cups of water every morning on my 1-2 hour walks with my exercise partner & husband. Then coffee with protein powder.

I had beer at my free B-Day dinner end of April. I planned ahead and reduced my calories days before the meal and afterwards. Next indulgence was last night I had wine and a free dinner. The free stuff gets me every-time. I was an annual summer party at my husband's work. The food was so delicious-- smoked salmon, shrimp, avocado dip, hummus & whole grain tiny sandwiches. I had a class of wine mixed with sweetened lemonade.

Today will be easy eating with protein shake and vegetables. Tomorrow is another party, I will bring iced coffee and stay on my program of lean protein and vegetables. I am still new at this and have party is a chance to practice moderation instead of indulgence.

I am wondering too...how do you handle parties?
