I just read on facebook that walking4fun now can map out your own walk, but this is only available to premium subscribers. Is anyone planning to do this?

we can do any length, but we have some folks that don't do that many miles a day to people like me that do 13+ miles a day. I pretty much have been staying between 100 and 400 miles. If there is a trail you like throw it out there and see what the others say

We can do a 2 or 3 month trail. If folks want Portugal Camino (Coastal) it is a pilgrimage, has a lot of history, the old churches are beautiful, lets do it If I ever get to walk it for real, it will take me a lot longer then virtual walking. I would have to study all the churches

I would like to try the Portugal Camino (Coastal)...although at 270 miles that may be too long for a group walk.

Seattle City Walk is also on my list although that is even longer

of course there is Crater Lake Trail which some would finish in a week

The day started out overcast but the sun eventually came out. Don had his radiation treatment. Driving in the car wears me out a bit. I did get in some new exercises I got from AARP, there are 3 for balance, I need those. Also took Kayla for a walk and in the middle of the street was a baby crow, as we walked by the mother came at us, flapping her wings over my head, walked fast and got a way from there.

62% done on stage 1 of Jordan Trail.

I am also during the Jordan trail am 45% through the first stage. This is Jordan's first national hiking trail. This past year we were studying ancient Biblical sites and the different archaeology information that is available. Some of the areas of this trail were discussed.
The Jordan Trail meanders nearly 700 kilometers (425 miles) from the southern port of Aqaba on the shores of the Red Sea to the northern outpost of Umm Qais near the Syrian border. The trail runs through some of the most scenic areas of the world including the ancient capital city of Petra and the windblown sands of Wadi Rum. The trail runs through a multitude of ecosystems from the searing deserts by the Dead Sea located more than 400 meters (1400 feet) below sea level to forests thick with trees and flowers.

It is believed that Moses, Jesus, Moses and Muhammad have walked along sections of what is now the Jordan Trail, and many of the locations are featured in the Bible such as Mount Nebo, where Moses saw the Promised Land. On a very clear day, one can see all the way to Jerusalem.

I'm on the new trail, Jordon, it is different. The government takes groups out, There are 50 in the group, and a camel carrying water. Ryan's guess is they don't want anyone getting lost or dyeing from dehydration, bad PR. He does say most of them are weekend hikers or segment hikes and there group will be thinning,

Portugal Camino (Coastal) Has a lot of water scenery. Less than 300 miles.
That may still be too much for a group hike.

I did AT and it was 2 1/2 years. Not ready for that again.

Looks like we will all finish the C&O trail this month, Do you want to start a new trail July 1st, or take a month off? Next question. what trail the Great Allegheny Passage makes the most sense since it starts at the end of the C&O, Is there another trail you would like to hike I'm game for anything but the AT or the PCT, I've done both an really don't want to do another 2000 miles on the same trail. Before you say that is what you want. I take about 3X the steps of most of you and it too me 10 months to do the PCT.

We have a new trail on Walking 4 Fun. Jorden Trail. It looks like a nice trail and I will be trying it out, but at over 400 miles maybe a little long for a group hike

So far behind on my steps.....we moved 2 weeks ago and I physically did much of it. Thankfully am strong enough to do so........or so I thought.......after getting in I tried to "muscle" a large dresser across the room by myself and pulled something in lower back. Can barely walk 1/2 mile at snails pace.....can't lift anything without pain....even hurts to sneeze!! Praying this isn't permanent. What a set-back. Have to get my steps logged in.....way behind on that.

Still 5 people on the trail. I'm thinking a new trail May 1st. Any suggestions, I'm thinking 300 miles was a bit long for some people. My first thought is to come to the US and do the C&O, 216 miles. If you want really short trails the are several under 100 miles Carter Lake is only 36 miles. There isn't a new trail for me, anything under 500 miles suits me, I've done 37 of the 24 trails so don't worry me.

I can set up a new trail anytime. I was thinking of a real short one next, this one was so long. There are still 5 people on the trail. I was going to give them a chance to finish before I started a new trail. But whatever the group wants.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Cleaned house. Walked a short walk. Now relaxing.

We finally got everything straightened out with the medication problems my husband needs to take for treatments, they couldn't refill as it turns out because the dr wrote it for 100 days, and his plan only cover 90. I must have talked to a dozen people and got a different answer. Or jsut cannot be filled. Finally I called his plan, they said it is covered and she gave me the idea the prescription may be written wrong and gave me a number at the pharmacy (it one where they mail the prescriptions) who could help me. She did and I had the dr contact her. Why the pharmacy couldn't have said that or called the dr and told him is beyond me. The medicine will be here Monday so he will be able to resume treatments on Thursday, we missed 3 because of this mix up.

Slowly getting through Kunglesden trail. emoticon

Fuzzy take care of yourself, sorry to hear of your injury.

Don had his first treatment, it went pretty well, it did make him nervous and he felt insure in the machine, it looks like a transporter (remember star trek and beam me up Scotty, it looks like that. The inside has all the ultra lights and handle bar to hold onto. The nurse said to check his skin to see how it looks, they just want him pink not red they don't want to burn him. His first treatment was 30 seconds, his is is a dark pink almost red, it is very thin from the creams his previous doctors gave him. I thought the treatment was new but it has been around 27 years, why none of his doctors recommended it to him is beyond especially after checking on line it is one of the better treatments for his disease with best survival rate for and controlling it. He is scheduled every Monday and Thursday for treatment until it is under control.

Have a good evening, I did get my exercise in.

I went on a ski trip this week. Forgot to wear my fitbit Monday and Tuesday, so those were zero days on the trail for me.

Wednesday, I unfortunately got tangled up in some deep powder and fell and sprained my knee. Now it is up resting and icing. So I will not be moving along too much on the trail for a while.

Good evening all. Sorry team between yesterday and today I have been just off track, haven't done a thing, I think just unwinding from the drive yesterday and the news. Not sure how long Don's radiation treatments will be, once he get the medicine he will start.Don has mycosis fungoides. He will have radiation 2 times a week. It will pretty much be a full day, the drive is hour and 15 minutes one way. Then the treatment and back home. I will get back on track, I have too.

Kayla is back to old herself if it wasn't for the stitches and the shaved area you wouldn't know she had surgery.

Have a great evening.

Yes and thank you Mary Alice.

Kayla came through surgery well, she is still a little woozy, she likes to lay in our laps but it is hard to pick her up without her wincing, she had 2 cysts removed that were filled with gunk as our vet called it. When we go to pick her up she moves away, then looks sad she in not in one of our laps. Hopefully she will feel a little better tomorrow. Did get my exercise in.

I would say short, like in run. But what about the 'led' part? Is it like led, or leed, or laid?

Remember we are walking the Kungsleden Trail starting the 1st. That means if you are starting the first with us you need to switch trails before midnight the 31st. I know you might have parties to go to or other things to think about. Understood, but W4F won't if you switch 1 min after mid night your steps won't count on the trail till the 2ed. Switch before your party and you will lose a few steps on the trail you are on, but won't have to worry about it.

It isn't the end of the world if you don't switch. We normally have at least one person that forgets to switch. but since we all move at different speeds we are going to be all over that trail anyway.

I walked the trail a couple months ago to make sure it was a good trail. You will need your rain coat and water boots, but the reindeer and northern lights are worth it. It is defiantly one of my favorite. And I've done them all at least once.
