My husband read part of this article to me. I just didn't have the heart to read the whole thing.... but I also thought that I just can't give up and assume I'll always carry these extra pounds. It can be done. The other thing is that I don't want to gain more and make it even more difficult for myself in the future....

TL; DR:

It's not all in our heads, we are not being lazy and sedentary, and it's not our thyroids. Lose 100 pounds (I lost 150 folks) and you are probably burning 500 or so fewer calories per day which translates into a pound per week no matter what. Exercise is less efficient, the body hoards calories, and the brain makes you ravenous.

7 years since my 150 pound loss and a good 100 pounds are back and I can attest to pretty much everything in this article.

I do not want to discourage anyone - rather, I want everyone to know - science has a ways to go.

We are all in the same boat; hang in there.
