FYI: A lot of sparkers have moved to myfinesspal.com . There is a group called sparkers index... It has valuable info of different spark groups, sparkpeople blogs links, and how to use myfitnesspal. There is a very active group called spark people friends. Great group for encouragement. I'm using the free site some people are paying for the premium. But free lets me do everything I need to. There are lots of SP groups over there. Just in case you were wondering where to go in August..

FBS 117 =Goal +18 Puzzled that I have not been able to get it down to 100 since high fever a week and half ago??? all other vitals are back to normal and feel fine and diet is back to basics and carbs less than 25% of total calories but blood sugar does not go down at all like it used to - exercise is not up to par is the only element of routine I can "blame"

My DH and I planted a stevia plant some years ago. It was amazing that you could pull off a leaf and mash it a little and put it in your tea, coffee, etc and it would sweeten it up.

Day 21 of the 30day Diab Wt Loss Challenge and still exactly at starting point - Maintaining is a good thing but i NEED to loose for walking ability as well as diabetic control Wt 216 but blood sugar back up to 119 again this morning GRRRR ..working is not walking .. going to concentrate on steps this week Every one of them is hard but need to get them in!! At least get on the exercise bike and get the range of motion in - I am losing ability and that is scary at 72 yrs!!!

My blood pressure is up for me - going to be watching it several times a day not liking that ---it has been in good control for several years and don't want to go back on more meds but haven't felt well for a week.
Challenge Goal is 210# [base of 216] and FBS less than 100 on 3/7days by June23 Daily accountability.

Article on sweet tooth - is reminder to keep working at that area - Nothing specific - the two principles for me are good portion control but do not deprive myself or I get real rebellious.

Thank you. Oh yes, water is my best friend or sure. With the heat I drink even more water. I did get another section of the yard mowed, came back in. I still the back to do. Last night a good rain came through. The dogs not to crazy about the how hard the droplets hit on the skylight.

DH spend some time sleeping. The heat exhaustion had him wiped out. Hopefully it will go better at work today. Have a great day, tootles for now. Positive thoughts.

DH came home mid-morning. In the plant the heat was so intense he got sick. The maintenance crew did not have the ceiling exhaust fans running. DH had to go to the office and sit in the air conditioned area, drink some water to bring his temp down. The plant nurse took his physical temperature to make sure (how that might bite back) if it transpires to heat stroke. So he is home sitting in his chair with the fans running. We do not have air conditioner in the downstairs part of the house. Fans move the air around.

I better get a move on, I have some tasks outside to do before it gets too hot. Positive thoughts.

Sickness is crawling out the door -fever appears to have run it's course and I am nearing my
"normal" and still fragile and weepy. Will attend one out-doors, sitting meeting today if still no fever - board meeting that needs a quarum and observes distances and I keep it short and business like!!! Five miles too and from and a grocery pick up for essentials then home to rest.

Farmer's Market was brutal heat and I was a and panic mess coming home - pain, heat, and age all together had me in tears ...maybe 72 IS too old for this! Plus full pollen season.
So took benadryl and to bed, up and hydrated every hour x3 and doing better this morning.

Article on cravings ... not anything new there for me- just deal with them!! For me it is portion control and choices and NOT denial.

The day is moving faster than me. Early morning the man came from our propane supplier, they changed out the tank to larger capacity one. The one was here before I purchased this place, I am not sure how old it was. It had to be moved over a little because the pine tree next to it grew. It was a great day to do before the corn gets to high in the field. New shining propane tank alongside the house.

Morning walks in, errands in town, dropped off some things and my daughter's. Her children will eat it, and it's not on my hips. Navigated the new construction projects in town. I suspect if I was a horse doing barrel racing there might be prizes/ribbons.

The man who here this morning stopped back. He said with all the switching of the tanks he ended up with some bird nests in the bed of the truck. We were not sure which tree they were in, placed them near the area, so hopefully the bird parents find them.

One of my daily tasks is to play pick up sticks with this one tree that is in my front yard. Do a little hand watering for now while waiting for the rainy season to begin. I've got one pound to lose before before seeing the doctor next week. Wish me luck! emoticon

I try to do every day. Collecting the sun rays as I pick up items in the yard. If too much fresh air, when I sit down and the cat climbs in my lap.....soothing sounds of purrs creates the nap. Have a great day too.

I was able to get the lawn cut in the front of the house and by the barn along the roadway. It was nice to see the pretty little violets flowering under the apple tree. The lily of of valley are happily growing at the base of the rose bushes. I got moved some of the branches from the storms that came through. Each little bit helps. Have a great day. I dropped off DH is biohazard tests things and return the mointer so they can do there neccesary checks. I forget its the long weekend. Years ago we had a camper on Lake Alice, things change.

One of the gals let me sneak in the back and weigh myself quick. So far I am happy and grateful with that scale. Two more pounds gone.

It is slow going, but I am able to get short walks in without the walker. The nurses are trying to get me to take with and walk further. I do not want to be sitting along side the county road where the drivers think this is NASCAR. I go when the road is not so crazy. So far from my driveway to the end of my property line and back; a good 1/2 hour walk.

LINDAF49, good job, way to go,FBS 99 woohoo. I have a hard time getting enough protein in my diet I'm going to add more fish to my diet see if that helps.

Inch by inch, I had to wear one of those heart monitors for just a week. Hopefully that will help find out what's wrong with your husband.

I was up in time to see the moon. I was glad the storm pass so the dogs and I could see it. Yes, those trail type clouds give it a eerie feeling. At least it helped the dogs make up their minds and get the business done so go back into the house.

I manged to get some grass cut, trails so some air came get in there and dry it out. A few places made the lawn mower smoke and squeal, so reverse until that airs and dries out some. For now the lawn is a huge labyrinth. I'll see how it all goes, it raining again and frost warnings for the weekend.

DH had one of those heart mointer things to wear the next few weeks. The tests are coming back clear, nonetheless the outer body messages are indicating trouble. He is going to try going to work today. I have to run his extra samples up to the doctor soon. Still turning pages on the mystery?

Day 1 - Claiming yesterday's weight as starting point 216.0 on goal is 207 on 3/7days in one month. I am 72 years and Prediabetic with A1C at 6.0 in January. Today FBS=112
I have congestive heart failure and must weigh daily and take waterpill on MWF and if needed per wt or syptoms on other days. Not very mobile - use canes or trekking poles for out-door walking.
Daily discussions will include accountability for Wt and FBS and what i am learning here - Set goals today.

Got to see my granddaughters it's been 2 years. My granddaughter Alex 11 years old now , just seems like yesterday she was born and her sister Tabby is 8 now, man they grow up fast. It was a nice visit.
Last couple days I ate way too much sodium. Friday I had Chinese takeout and on Saturday I had pizza. I am surprised my blood pressure is really good 111 / 70. Well tonight I'm going to cook spaghetti for dinner. I need to get busy. I hope everyone's having a great day

Hi, yesterday I went to the doctor to discuss some tests that she did. The doctor is a little concerned about my mental health. One of the things I did was stick the coffee pots in the microwave that's not very normal. She said it could be caused by stress or medication. She want to check on me again in 3 months

INCH BY INCH I agree, about the neighbors, I used to live out in the country but now I have four new neighbors. Three of them are pretty nice people, talk to you a little bit but this mind there own business but we have one that lets his dog run loose. People complaining but he thinks we should all buildings better fences to keep his dogs out of our yard. He don't think he should have to control his dogs , cuz they're big dogs they need lots of room to run. Well that's enough complaining lol.
It's a nice beautiful day here in the upper 70s. I have to go pick up the mail, mailbox is a mile from my house so usually take the side by side down and pick up the mail

Dan07221954: I agree. When the kids were young and I purchased this property. I told them these 20-acres allowed me to have this much control over the neighbors. It is a nice options to take a walk around it, without the vehicles. I live on a county road. Many drivers think its NASCAR. I usually pick rocks from the field and use them to build boundaries around the flower gardens.

It is still cool as I post this. Thermostat showing 49 degrees. Have a great day.

It's a nice day here it's in the upper 70s just right to go outside and work in the yard.

RMUL2013 I agree, gardening is good a exercise. Your whole body gets a workout and you are outside

The dogs and I were out walking the yard. Gathering up the garbage that drifts in. It is a little warmer this morning. It was 38 degrees. Overcast. Nice to see the woodland flowers cresting the undergrowth. Have a great day.

Wow, that is cold. I like to get my yard work done first thing in the morning when it is cool. In Florida it gets hot by 10:00. If the humidity would stay low, it would be alright to stay outside longer. Gardening is good exercise. emoticon

Inch by inch, 25 degrees that's cold I'm glad it's not that cold here.
RMUL2013 I have a lot of weeds this year too. I don't like spraying weed killer because of dog

It's cool here in Eastern Washington State, 39 degrees this morning. Right now it's 45 degrees and the winds blowing hard. I don't think I'll be doing too much outside today. I'll ride the exercise bike and walk on the treadmill

Sounds like a really big day. Many of those same tasks are on my list. Right now as I post this the ground is covered in frost. I'll wait some for the sun to burn that off. Have a great day.

I have a big to-do list today. I have to work in the yard, do some housework,do some minor house repair, and try to get the riding lawn mower started.
