From what I have read in the past:

The exact cause of 1 diabetes is unknown. What is known is that your immune system-which normally fights harmful bacteria or viruses attacks and destroys your insulin producing cells in the pancreas. This leaves you with little or no insulin. Weight is not believed to be a factor in type 1 diabetes.

Usually take s few days to back to decent numbers after I have fed my carb desire. Medicine isn't a cure all for good or normal health

George: I live in a small community, so although we always have Dr( often locums) it's mainly Diabetic Educator/Dietician that deals with Diabetics. Canadians are lucky that most province have great free Health services. In Ontario + over 65, almost everything is cover, so that's a great help.

I mainly keep Carbs down, but since joining Spark, the My Fitness tells me I'm not eating enough Calories. Next week I'll book an appointment with Diabetic Educator/Dietician to help me figure out a balance.

I hope so Beck56. There was a sparkteam that aimed for less than 100 carbs per day. It seemed this was an aggressive goal. I have recently aimed for this goal. It is a challenge for sure. The shelter at home has made it a little easier as we don't eat out much anymore.

I'm finding it hard to keep to a 30grams to a 33grams carbs per meal. Will I get use to feeling hungry?
