Today was Trim Healthy Table Dinner - We had the Easy Pizza Casserole on Page 126, and the Lemon Trimtastic Cake on Page 392. The only change I made to the recipes was I used NSI sweeteners - I used straight erythritol in the cake with 2 doonks of stevia, and instead of cream cheese in the frosting, I used some marscapone I needed to use before it expired. I really didn't think hubby was going to eat the cake. I tasted a bit when it was warm and I could really taste the yellow squash, but by the time it was chilled and frosted, he ate a huge slice! And went for 2nds on the casserole! I count this as a huge win.

Now I haven't tried him out on the brownies with okra hidden in them yet. That will have to wait til tomorrow because we are stuffed.

Pg 33 - "You need to know this stuff", tools and foods to have on hand, a few words about sweeteners and flours, a few special ingredients that are helpful,
Pg46 begins recipes ...read, try them if you wish, share what works for you!!! try to get in the habit of listing Book name and Page number and maybe meal type.
First section has lots of "de-constructed traditional foods or meal-in-a-bowl'

Got my big new book THTable out again today - going to try to read more and try a few new foods in the months ahead - working the reading with the "NO Cheat Challenge' and keep all the factors working together. Pg. 31 and going to be accountable for progress through the book... START BY SEPARATING YOUR FATS AND CARBS AND ASK YOURSELF "WHERE IS THE PROTEIN?" don't make it complicated - I am set to win this battle and change my lifestyle PERMANENTLY THM can include my medical needs of gluten free, heart healthy, pre-diabetic andante-inflammatory for fibromyalgia. Woohoo!

Read a few more pages - basic re-enforcement of the principles of separate your fuels and where is your protein? I need to read a few pages each day and apply them. I enjoy my facebook support group but need to do my part to study too

For 4/3 p28 thinking about breakfasts: consider a smoothie or shake p.468
maybe some muffins p.362 or think about cake and coffee!!! p.372

EAT SLOWLY!!! it slows down the cortisol!!!

Then try building a super simple S supper: baked chicken, steamed broccoli with a little butter add a side salad with a little shredded cheese and maybe end with a square of 85% chocolate

Learn - know - be healthy
Pg26 Ditch the whit potato and white flours
Keep Protein as the anchor in ALL Meals
Need to "fuel" or eat every 3-4 hours with NO NIBBLES in between

Pg 27 E Meals Suggest starting with lunch E of two pieces of sprouted bread with lean meat
This is getting ingrained this time through by sharing and doing their intro meals.

Pg 23,24 LEARN - KNOW - LIVE : Protein in every meal --

Starter S breakfast : coffee [for me it would be tea] with cream or good fat
and 2-3eggs any style
then add non-starchy veggie if you want - spinach, peppers, mushrooms
add bacon or sausage if you choose and 1/2cberries
Starting out - avoid potatoes white or sweet, corn, other root veggies
CELEBRATE salads - get your greens - even hide them as in the trimtastics pg 388

Keep in mind: S=fat or lean protein + nonstarchy veggie
E = LEANprotein +carb + non-starchy veggie
FP = Lean Protein + nonstarchy veg or berrie

got the THTable book out - on the table with highlighter -
Pg21, 22 S meal = Satisfying E=Energizing Do NOT eat carbs and Fats in same meal
>>my thoughts.>>so hard to break our sandwich of bread and fatty meat - need to have LowCarb bread replacer on hand for the times you just "HAVE TO HAVE" a sandwich

THM is not centered around numbers. Think fuel combinations, not calorie counting
>>My thoughts>>>lifetime of calorie counting and then with diabetes carb counting became the forefront and the high push to Keto which also counts macros hard to not concentrate on numbers - so please forgive my frequent mention of numbers and realize I am still very much "Just learning this" even if I have been around it for several years

Then the books says but if you need numbers...S is 10 or less net carbs per meal and E is up to 45 carbs and a tsp or less fat

Brought the book home yesterday - it is beautiful and heavy and planning to go through cover-to ver and always mention page number I am quoting from or recipe using.

Page20 THTABLE Pg 20Simple start Recap:
---This Way of eating (WOE) Will steady your blood sugar
---Say no to white flour and sugar - [also separate from white potatoes while your body works out the differences]
---Fight chocolate with Chocolate - they will teach us how!!!
