Sounds like you guys had a great day together! We went to the park and flew kites on Sunday. Was a gorgeous day (Easter) with pretty decent wind, and we had a couple of hours to kill between church & family dinner. Congrats on making the 1.75 distance both ways, that's no small feat, especially on mountain terrain!

Milo is my son's stuffed dog toy he's had since a tot. Love that name. Son and I hit the mountain trails Saturday. It was a moderate/difficult hike aka pretty much straight up. The trail goes for 3.5 miles one way but son and I did 1.75 one way. I told him by the end of the summer we will be doing the full 3.5. I could have gone on but he stopped and wouldn't go further. Of course the way down he was wayyyyy ahead of me. He was bragging to those coming up that I was a slow poke. I told them that the way up was a different story. The group of hikers started cracking up laughing. tee hee. We then went and did the Celestial Seasonings tea tour. Son wasn't excited about that. He hates tea. Oh well. I'm always out that way but never have time to do the tour so we went for it. He slept the whole ride home.

This weekend was ridiculous - after a big blow-out with my boyfriend on Saturday, we regrouped for Sunday and took the doggies with us to an o-meet. Milo did great -he's my older pup. But then Pudding broke her collar and acted like a right ninny. So I had to bring her back to the car. On the way, she dragged me over a step and I went crashing down onto my knee. I was pretty shaken up and couldn't tell how bad I was hurt for a few minutes - shaking and nauseous. Turned out to only be a skinned knee. The boyfriend came to my rescue, wrestled the ridiculous uncollared pup back to the car and we went for a lovely drive, stopping in at two different dog parks to get the pup to burn off that excess energy. Poor Milo could barely keep up - he crashed for the following two days and could hardly move. Pudding meanwhile, is moping, and wondering why she can't RUN constantly, and go to the dog park every single day. Well, yha, she probably needs to ;) Maybe I'll have to make her my new running buddy. Which would mean I'd have to take up running ;)

yup, got to take the dog to the park even! Made it around the 1.5mi loop. She was so muddy I had to bring her straight into the bathroom for a bath afterwards! Really foggy here today & temps in the upper 30's. Nice because we had the park pretty much to ourselves.

Awesome!

It is looking like it will be in the 60's for the next week so the mountain trails will start thawing out. I am looking forward to taking the kids once it warms up. We are headed down to Las Vegas Thursday so we will hopefully explore and find somewhere to hike to.

Went hiking on Saturday to the Louisville Swamp http://www.fws.gov/uploadedFiles/Louisvill
e%20Swamp%20Trail%20Map.pdf

Did the 4 mile long loop, and it took us 3 hours, non-stop due to mud and snow and ice :) Quite the workout!!

I burned over 2200 calories doing the hike, apparently :)
Go me.
