For several days I have been enjoying eating whenever and whatever I wanted. I can do that for one day but not several days so back to some kind of accountability.

Today I ate for hunger and/or for fuel, enjoyed my meals and stopped when satisfied. emoticon

DH baked cookies and offered me one, saying they were best when freshly baked.
I surprised myself by answering - no, thanks. I will have one later when I am hungry as it will taste better then. I never did get hungry enough to eat one.

I also walked 25 min.

i have been sticking with my sugar reduction goal, it is nice because i have been craving veggies or foods that have more protein. the few time i craved tacos, i did not want fast food,. i wanted homemade taco salad- with more veggies andd real beans, not refried

i used to pack 1-2 servings of chocolate to work. ive only packed something 2 times in the last 2 weeks. i still have the munchies, but now i only have fruit or light granola bars in my desk at work for snacks. i still like chocolate, but i am not longer looking forward to having it or any other candy at work. still drinking pop - 1 thing at a time

I have decided to give up processed sugar - I am sweet enough already emoticon
This is my 3rd day sugar free. I get enough sugar from fresh fruit.

I am also paying attention to emotional hunger.
Wed I had emotional hunger once (I think I was bored) and I headed towards the frig for a cookie but thankfully we were out of them. emoticon Usually, I would find something else to nibble on but chose not to.
Yesterday I had no emotional hunger. I am emoticon

Kay... I agree. We just have to name it for what it is, which is hard, because the cold, hard truth is hard.

I somehow got bumped from the thread, but I did walk this morning with a migraine hangover. It was supposed to be a run day, but that wasn't going to happen. I guess, in the grand scheme of things, that would be a max, because in the past, I would have totally bailed on it.

I noticed that I called my emotional eating urge a small treat aka sweet delight. I must remember to not sugar coat it and call it what it is - a craving to overeat. Words matter.

My triumph is that I didn't have any craving to overeat yesterday and it was a sugar free day.

Monica - You are strong to go walking in the hot weather.

My max is that eating has not been a problem for me. I occasionally give into an emotional eating urge but I make it a small treat. I am aware it is emotional and notice there is not much joy in it so it is easy to stop. Before, it would turn into a binge (they got smaller and smaller) and it would take a few days to get back on track.

Kay... isn't that the truth. I don't think I've ever said, "that walk was awful. I should have just slept in."

Max for yesterday... I walked "The Hill" yesterday at lunch. I was thinking of every excuse to pass, but when my coworker came, she said, "I'll go sign us out", I got up and went with her and another coworker. It was hot, so we took it slow. And what did I say to myself when we got back to campus, "oh, I should have sat on my butt in my a/c'd classroom."

NOT!!! Hahaha!!!

I think passing up on Red Vines is still a max triumph. It seems like getting fit is a journey of a thousand steps. Each triumph is one step further on that journey.

I also felt like sleeping in but chose to take my morning walk before it got too hot. I never regret my walks.

Max triumph... I got 100 students into their Code.org accounts with emails and passwords. Not all at one time, but about 25 kids at a time.

I also went out for my walk this morning, even though I felt like sleeping in.

Mini triumph... I passed on the Red Vines in the staff lounge. That would have been a max about two months ago, but it gets a glance, but nothing more as of today.

Great to read Kay. Reassessing and keeping our mind on the goals seems to bring things together. Today my Max triumph: my belt could be moved to the last hole to ware today. Max triumph: I walked 15k+ steps

It is helpful to remember and celebrate our daily triumphs.
I notice that although I think I am doing fine, I am slowly shifting back to old habits.

Mini Triumph The pants I once had a difficult time buttoning, now need to be worn with a belt to prevent slipping. Yay.

Mini Triumph: for the first time instead of getting a large soup I bout a small and didn't fill the serving all the way. Yay

FANTASTIC NEWS! You made your goal and reap the rewards of your energy like a teenager. Thats so great. Proud of you.

I still have far to go before my body is back to its teenage years but I do have the energy level I did.

On another note, this has become a good source for our buddy system for me. Lol. I am glad to help. You have also been inspiring me as well.

I am doing fine. I am back at my normal weight and almost feel like a teenager again.

I am working on awareness. What I mistook as mistakes are really old habits that do not serve me well. I think after focusing and tracking them for awhile, they will become new helpful habits.

You have been very helpful by starting this thread. Reading about your triumphs has been inspirational.

Way to go!

I am good. Was in an environment today that didn't really promote healthily eating ( Jury duty) but came home and had some healthier choices.

Thought I didn't eat horribly. There were some food choices that definitely were not an investment towards the body I want.

Not much that I need as of today thought I have been in some high stress level situation and have not caved which is my Max Triumph.

Thought I did have a few days of slipping but since the choices of food that i have chosen to surround myself with are much healthier.

The slips are not as bad. I have maintained my stance on keeping away from Mc Donalds French fries which is another Max Triumph.

Anything I can do for you to support better? :)

Keep up with what you are doing.

On the eating part I am doing well although I would like to chew my food more thoroughly.

I notice I make simple mistakes in life because my mind is elsewhere. Each night I pour my water quota in a pitcher for the next day. This morning I took a cup of water from the facet but caught myself.

For my triumphs I will be focusing on chewing my food thoroughly and paying attention to what I am doing.

I have learned to eat when I am bored, tired, sad, happy, because its there, etc. aka emotional eating. I am working on dealing with emotions without the need to reach for food.
Since these are new habits I am forming, I can easily slip back into eating for emotional reasons. As long as I stay focused and track my progress I do pretty good.

Last week I got very tired, felt sorry for myself and had a couple of binges. After gaining two pounds, I ended my pity party, refocused and am once again tracking my progress.

My max triumph today was that I didn't feel the need to comfort myself with food. I did it today and I can do it again tomorrow.

Yes, they are worth it in the long run. Habits become invisible masters.
Last night I forgot to eat dinner. I haven't done that in ages. About 8 pm I noticed I was a little hungry but nothing sounded good. So I had a small serving of ice cream and that was my dinner. Oddly enough, last week I was considering giving up ice cream because I found it difficult to stop after one serving. I had no problem this time.

I had a Max Triumph today! For a long time (off and on) I have been trying to listen to my body to know when I was satisfied. Funny thing though, I wasn't thinking about that during my lunch meal (I am off that goal at this time), and it hit me - I was satisfied. I could actually tell I was satisfied. Then it happened again at dinner time.
Little kids know when they are satisfied. They stop eating. I would ask myself: Why can't I tell. I have been working on awareness so I guess my mind was usually somewhere else - mindless eating.

Mini Triumph: Ate very cleanly today

Min Triumph: Hid my healthy Junk food so I don't aimlessly snack.

Max Triumph: Rearranged my Room ti 2:16AM and ate two meals but was not hungry.

Good idea! Successes are great motivators.

Celebrate each triumph! Good job Mika!

I rarely think about all the good choices I have made. It is the times I give into my cravings that I remember.

Max Triumph: DH made homemade ice cream and I had one spoonful.

Max Triumph: ate 3 out 4 meals mindfully (and one mindlessly).

I will work on remembers my small victories today.

So I am using this as an open place to remind others and myself of all the triumphs we have while on this healthy journey of nourishing both the mind and body.

I realize that when I remind myself of all the thing s I gain by celebrating my daily triumphs I invest in my self confidence and want to share that confidence with others.

To start here are some triumphs I have recently celebrated.

Mini Triumph: waking up.

Mini: taking my children back to school shopping and having literally one Nathan’s cheese fry.

Mini Triumph: Buying trader joes yogurt covered pretzels and reading the serving size.

Mini Triumph: deciding to eat half the serving size of of the pretzels which was three.

Max Triumph: Saying NO to my craving for mac Donald's french fries and eating a healthy alternative at home.

Max Triumph: Going to an amusement park and not eating anything but drinking my water.

Please share your Minis or Max’s and lets celebrate these together. πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ƒπŸŽŠ
