I went to a pork steak dinner at my moms church today. the food was all homemade. i enjoyed the dumplings. also a bake sale. so yest i bought some stuff. normally i would feel guilty but instead enjoyed the stuff i ate. i also had a fruit bar before i went so i was not overly hungry. i took smaller portions of food and enjoyed eating. i did stuff myself a little but not to the point where i felt teriable. i stayed full for a while too which was nice.

during supper i ate after i was full (sated) but i did not get stuffed. i cut my baked potato in half and am saving it for lunch tomorrow with 1 piece of my fish. i also saved all the coleslaw. i kept wanting to eat more but i reminded myseld that i can enjoy it at allater time. it helped me stop eating so i could enjoy my food more tomorrow.

this is one of my goals. i tend to overeat and then feel stuffed and then overtired and then want to eat again a short time later.

Your experience with stuffing yourself every time you eat sounds just like me. I don't feel satisfied until I feel the food in my stomach. One thing I've read is that you should aim to feel neutral, neither hungry/nor feel the food in your stomach. This is where I have a hard time deciding if it's enough. Of course, I often go well past "neutral". I would love to get to that point.

And I also tend to want to eat too fast. Slowing down really is harder than it sounds, but I'm going to make it a goal today to truly be more mindful to chew, chew, chew and put my fork down between bites.

I hear you on the calorie counting. I am trying my best to NEVER go back to counting calories. I want to make IE work for a lifetime.

It means just that.

An example is that I had McD's twice this week. In both visits I has less combined than I would have normally on one visit. I essentially ate a happy meal both times. I wanted so badly to eat more. To eat fast, to get more food. But I forced myself to put my food down. To focus on the my girls and the surroundings. To take it all in. SLOW DOWN, talk, enjoy. By the time our lunch was finished. I wasn't full. I wasn't even sure if I had eaten enough. I have become so accustomed to stuffing myself. To eating past my satisfied point. Eating quickly. Eating for other reasons than for hunger. Etc.

I stopped exercise this week. I went hardcore last week and caused a huge FMS flare up. my body was trembling and I felt like a had a super-flu virus. After 6 days of rest and eating with portion control and forcing myself to resist binging- not resisting foods (including cupcakes) but the urge to binge, I dropped almost 2 pounds. I didn't have to white knuckle anything but the voice that said to binge. Last week was hell. Exercise, calorie counting, blah blah. Nope. Nada. IE with relearning my bodily and portion sizes. It feels good that way.

Trying to live as best as I can according to God's Plan including a Natural and Holistic Health lifestyle.

I have been eating my meals mindlessly and tend to overeat.
I can't tell yet when I am satisfied so I making an effort to serve myself small portions.

For my height, age and lifestyle I only need about 1200 calories daily. I eat 4 times daily so I keep my meals around 300 calories. Any more than that then I start to gain weight. This seems to be working for me and part of my enjoyment is that I will not feel bad later when I realize I didn't eat all those extra calories. When I eat mindlessly, I eat way more than 300 calories.

Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle you know nothing about.

The first few bites taste the best. I enjoy my food more when I am a little hungry.
