No, Yanks...it is not what it is supposed to be. The "average" human with "normal" sleep patterns does sleep 6-9 hours per night, on average. An occasional restless night is not abnormal for them. We are all (or most of us)here dealing with some sort of sleeping disorder...some mild, and some more serious. Those lucky ones without a sleeping disorder just don't get it. I am jealous of them!
P.S. last night was not too bad for me...about 5.5 hours.

about 7.5 hrs. That's two nights in a row, however I was up 4 different times. After reading these postings I wonder if what we are stating is the way things are supposed to be. After all we are natural born hunters and survivors, could you imagine the sleepless nights that our ancestors went through.

I'm not sure how much sleep I got. I'm absolutely miserable today, so I'm guessing I didn't get enough.

I too slept very little...I average between 2-3 hours of total sleep at night. It is SO frustrating. I wake up and almost feel 'bored'. I tend to eat when I wake up. So, I am trying to stay in my room. But then I just stare at the ceiling and get more irritated that I am not sleeping...

I slept erratically as it has been for a few years now. Fall asleep by midnight, wake up two hours later, doze for thirty minutes, wake up at 3:30am, then doze till after 4am, wake up watch the news, doze again etc. I don't know why I can't sleep more than two hours at a time.

New to the team, but here's my input. I average around 3 hours of sleep each night. It's been going on like this for years. I exercise like a nut and am very hyper; the older I get it gets WORSE! OY!

Last night was the usual 2.5 - 3 hour snooze.

Terrible, got home late, had things to do, was 1:30 before trying to go to sleep. Up twice, then out of bed at 6:30. It's catching up to me now, starting to drag, but still going to the gym tonight.

Not too good last night, and I am not feeling well today. Hoping for some sound sleep tonight.

Yanks - I take prescription sleeping pills after trying virtually EVERYTHING...including but not limited to: aromatherapy, white noise, sleeping mask, melatonin, hypnotherapy, no computer or TV in my bedroom, new bed and mattress, fine/fresh linens, new comforter, OTC PMs, etc. etc. etc. I really didn't want to get on prescription sleeping aids, but I would rather do that than never sleep. Good luck to you!

Every night its up at 11 then 3 up at 5:30 sometimes 6:30 I can't remember when I have actually slept through the night. I am in great physical shape fairly good mental shape and my nutrition intake is at a very high standard, I am indeed a high energy person. I do fall asleep early usually around 9. I have no stress since I retired 2 years ago. I am a cancer survivor , therefore I love and embrace every moment of every day. Without any meds does anyone have any suggestions for a full nights sleep? emoticon

Since I started going to the gym I have been sleeping pretty well. I normally am only waking 1 time/night to use the restroom.

A normal night for me used to be up 3x's for the bathroom. Yelling at the cats to stop playing. Hearing the dog walk across the house, etc. If it moved or made a sound I woke up. Even taking sleep aids.

I am no longer taking my prescription sleep aid or my herbal sleep aid.
