Glad to see you are starting again...7 minutes are better than none. I hope you can keep increasing minute by minute.

Hadn't been here for a while. Yesterday was my first PT exercise day. I did a whole 7 min. I was doing 1hr plus. I did 15 mins today. I'm slowly building back up.

The procedure didn't give me the relief I was praying for but, it did give me a little . Pain level is around a 7/8 instead of 15.😊 . I'm still taking pain meds.

Thanks for asking 😊🙏

So any improvement? Can you start exercising again yet? Or still doing your physical therapy?

I had the first nerve block procedure on Monday and am scheduled for second on 27th. It was VERY painful! So far I've not had any result. Praying Monday will help.

Here are two helpful articles on understanding the different types of back injections for pain. The problem with local anesthetic is that is usually doesn't last very long and is often used to pinpoint where the pain is coming from.

Yes need info on epidurals also. The steroid muscle shot didn't really work and new meds aren't either, so next step epidural. Yoga helping a lot though!! Stretch and it is a flow class so muscles are challenged also.

I just had a nerve block procedure last Thursday. I have a herniated disc in L3-4 and one in my neck area as well but we are just treating the back one now. The procedure was extremely painful but the dr said that meant he had gotten the right spot. Not sure I could do it again (now that I know how much it will hurt) w/out being put under for a few minutes. It might make their life easier as well! I am still waiting for it to work though - I think it is working a little but I am having pain higher up now than I usually do. I will give it a few more days before calling the dr.

the specialist suggested I have on so I can increase the intensity of my workouts for 6 months and get my core into really good shape. He said it would give me 6 months pain free.....I don't know..I have a referral to the pain clinic so we'll see..It won't get me back to work but no pain for a while would be nice too

Personally can't speak to it 'cause I haven't had one. Several people have posted that they have but I can't remember where it was (pain meds maybe?. Results seem mixed - do great for some people, partial for some and not at all for others.

Is nerve block anesthetic or steroids? There is a long acting anesthetic that they can do to see if it will relieve your pain. If it does then they will recommend more permanent treatments. If there is a lot of inflammation then they will do steroids to decrease it.
