Oh we aren't off the hook with the project though. Still need to do it though it be past due, it is something to do with company taxes...

I'm glad it all worked out but sorry the project didn't get completed. At least your coworkers know it was the other coworker who dropped the ball.

Well we are still working on this project now.
I guess all involved think that it was my fault since it did not get done on time. But there are other coworkers who have watched this and are on my side.
She is kind of my manager too I guess...I just think that if I had reminded her on a daily basis thinking she needed that, that she would see it as nagging and be mad/not do the project. On the other hand now it has not gotten done...
And others point out that it was her project so she should have known it was something she should have been involved in.

I really need to learn how to stick up for myself and watch my back. Also I don't think the communication in our office is really good...

No I don't think I would be in charge of the project, its not my project it would be hers. I only help because I know she wouldn't have time to finish it all by herself.
I should not be alone on the project. He said at the beginning it is too much for one person to do and he is right. But I can't do her part of the project because I don't know that stuff.
And I was told I would have other coworkers help me out and so when I mentioned it to them they said no because they are either too busy or didn't know how to do it either.
And at the end of it, it is simple math so its really no excuse they could not help.

I would ask the manager if he has put you in charge of the project and if your coworker is supposed to assist on this project. Get a clear picture of what he expects. He might expect you to do the whole project, if he does, kudos to you, shows you are responsible and he recognizes it. Also, if you and your coworker are supposed to be working on this together, ask for a meeting with the manager and the coworker to determine what needs to completed and who will do what.

I hope this is anonymous and that no one I work with is in this group emoticon
So there is this project at work that was supposed to be due last week. On other years I helped do it because I had extra time. I actually helped someone who doesn't work there anymore. She taught me how to do so much of it, I did what I could and she finished what I could not.
This year she is not here and so I and another coworker have the responsibility. I had all of my part done beginning of the month, figuring I'd get a head start letting her time to finish the rest.
The manager who wants this done talks to me about it, doesn't talk to her about it. Doesn't tell her that she will be working on it...
when I get my part done I let her know, so she starts working on it.
It was due last week....she hasn't touched it.
Ok so I am not naggy. I don't want to tell her everyday that she should work on it. Was I supposed to do that? She has worked there longer than me, she knows when this is due I suppose...still I let her know every now and then I got as far as I could with it, it is up to her....
Well today manager wants to know when it will be done. What have I been doing to get it done? Why isn't it done?
I explain that I finished all I could do, by early last month actually. And have mentioned several times to the other coworker that whenever she is ready she can start on it.
Well apparently this is not acceptable. I have no sense of urgency to get this project done and why have I not been on it...
Now, he would come and talk to me about it but never would he go to the other coworker. I have a theory that she has something that she could pull like a sexual harassment claim because they let her get away with so much...and she has worked there longer than me, she should know when it is due, I really don't need to remind her.
What would you do in this situation? whatever cloak of protection she has I don't have it...and figure they are going to hunt me down when their project isn't done and there was really nothing more I could do on it.

He now wants it done by Friday and I just don't see how we are going to do it. I simply refuse to skip my lunch or stay late because of something that I started working on so long ago so it would get done on time.
