Believe me...if it becomes an issue..I will...the only problem, could be that I am not just outside the door...Where the smokers are. ...I don't think she's gonna have anything to say about it, unless all heck breaks loose and I'm not there... emoticon

i would explain to my boss, if he/she said the same thing to me, that unless i get my walk in (since others can smoke for longer than i am allowed to walk), i will not be able to do my job as well as i have been. i need the fresh air. if my boss has a problem with my 6 minute walk, then i would raise issue with the 10 minute smoke breaks whenever they want one. but that's just me. LOL

That's infuriating, isn't it?! I had a boss like that. He came and went as he pleased but let me be one minute late coming back from break and all heck would break loose. He made us stagger our breaks so we would take them alone. Even though we were rarely late coming in, he didn't like the idea that we socialized for 10 minutes. I think it is so frustrating because we have no control over what our boss tells us to do. Grrr! Hope you can find another way to get your exercise in.

So...I work in a 911 call center...I have this pattern down where I can walk for 6 mins on my break...My boss and I were talking about it and she didn't like the idea of me being that far away from my partner...(it's like 100 yards and I do it in the early morning when we are quiet) that made me mad, it's ok for them to go out and smoke for 5-10 mins, but me walking is not good.... emoticon
