my response to this person, which might not come across as pleasant, would be "i am VERY busy working, which is what i am paid to do, since others don't seem to think the same way." again, i have co-workers like that and i am not always polite in my tone to them. so, when those things fail, i put earphones on and listen to music. that way, i am doing my job and tuning everyone else out. if it is so important that i be contacted, then i can be reached by email. hope this helps.

Any suggestions on how to handle a forceful, bossy, gabby coworker?
I want to tell her things like:
I don't have time to chat.
I see that you take a lot of breaks and leave me here doing all the work.
I hear you socializing everyday with the boss or someone for more than a few minutes.
It's annoying when you don't ASK politely and just say "can I abuse you" to have me help her with something
It'd be nice to have HELP when NO ONE is in the office - she takes off instead and leaves me here.
She also feels she has the right to go home for lunch because she lives down the street, which I do not have a problem with -BUT she leaves the same time I go to lunch!!!! That's not acceptable. My boss says NOTHING!
She's got constant excuses to "take a walk" and go visiting instead of WORKING.
It goes on EVERYDAY, ALLDAY and the boss sees it, says nothing - YELLS at US (me and the other girls in the office - he comes in "where is she??" "how come she's never here")
WHAT am I to do with this?

I need to solve the problem. I have to TELL her something that will STIFLE her behavior towards me. Something tactful that tells her I am annoyed, I'm not interested and I see right through her.

Any suggestions???

I'm stressed out over this because it never STOPS!
