Sorry you had a rough day. People are rude, I have to put up with that too. They don't realize that if they would calm down and explain their situation in a calm manner, you might be able to help them. I learned when I was first working that if you remain calm and speak in a calm voice that 98% of people will react to your tone and will calm down and not raise their voices. Sometimes you have to ask them to explain their problem and not to raise their voice to you. But then again I have tried that to a few people and they complain that I'm not taking them seriously enough. But since I was a waitress and listened to every complaint out there, I do not treat people in call centers, restaurants or establishments rudely.

I work at a call center for a health insurance company. I take incoming calls all day, everyday regarding anything and everything health insurance related.
Today i got a call from our subscriber asking if i "knew where her husband is"???????
they are separated and the divorce process hasn't moved since he has "disappeared". LMAO. i was like "uummmmmm, i have NO idea where your husband is". i was thinking "maybe he doesn't want you to find him, since you are divorcing him"? but, i was nice. this is definitely one of the strangest ?s i have gotten so far this year. i told her no, i don't know. i just don't know how to process that ? she asked me.

then later i get a call from an old lady (sorry, not trying to offend, just mad) practically cussing me out about how we processed a claim for her. i tried explaining that we processed it how it was submitted by the dr office. did she care, NO! i am not paid NEARLY enough to care about these people and i ESPECIALLY don't get paid enough to get cussed out by stupid people that don't know how to read or ask ?s nicely.
Done venting for now, thank you.
