I like Kashi Go Lean. A lot of people on here eat it. Then I read, look for cereals with under 8g of sugar per serving. Kashi Go Lean has 15g.

I mixed together: Honey nut Cheerios, Fiber One, and Just Bunches (Honey Bunches of Oats). The boxes are gone, and I don't remember the sugar content of each one, but it was great. Not sure if it met the under 8g guideline.

Uncle Sam Toasted Whole-Wheat Flakes & Flaxseed Original

According to the box there are 10g fiber, Omega-3 Fatty Acids from Flaxseed, less than 1g Sugar, and is 100% Whole Grain. Serving size is 3/4 cup and is 190 calories. It is filling, inexpensive and tastes good.

Oat bran with a little brown sugar sprinkled in. Very filling. More so than oatmeal. Has a ton of protein and fiber! I also like Blueberry Frosted Mini Wheats.

I like oatmeal with a little cinnamon (sp?). If you have a Wegmans near you, they have a Fiber Essentials ceral, which is basically a Fiber One, but I think it tastes a little better and it has zero sugars. As a side benefit, it's cheaper!

i buy plain oatmeal and then add raisins and brown sugar, honey, maple syrup to give it some flavor like someone suggested. i love it 1) b/c it is cheap and you can change the flavor and not get bored 2) you can control how many calories you are adding to it very easily.

in the summer i usually do the store bought version of some of the brand name cereal...and i look for low sugar and high fiber

Here's my list:

Oatmeal
A variety of Kashi cereals (I find coupons on the internet for these and wait for a sale)
Brand or store brand for these:
Cheerios
Rice Krispies
Corn Flakes
Bran Flakes
Special K

The important thing is to read the labels and look for what gives you the most for less...I mean less sugars, sodium, calories and more quantity per serving so that I feel like I'm eating a lot.

Taking it one step at a time.

I'm a Fiber One fan...before that, Raisin Bran

I like Raisin Bran too, but discovered ShopRite's bran flakes are really good! I usually have them, then when winter really sets in, I do like many others, make plain oatmeal and add my own raisins an nuts.

I mainly eat Kellogg's Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes or Post Sugar Crisp for cereal. I eat my cereal with a cup of 2% milk on the side. I later add a banana mid-morning. I had eaten Kellogg's Smart Start Maple Brown Sugar for a while, although it is 1 1/4 cups per serving it was twice as many calories too.

For those that don't agree, I HAVE LOST 100 LBS!!! in the last 10 months eating just that for breakfast.

Make sure to measure those servings, 3/4 cup of cereal is not a lot.

Take care and stay healthy

for a limited budget I would recommend oatmeal - you can always add raisins, nuts, honey, whatever you have on hand to add flavor!

Excuse me LadyMoonWillow but Fruit Loops is not a healthy cereal. It has tons of sugar, food dyes and preservatives in it. It isn't a cereal that I would recommend to anyone who is trying to lose weight.

Hi!! I absolutely love the Kashi Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Oat cereal. I have it almost every morning and because I am lactose intolerant I have it with Rice Milk which has no fat what so ever and tastes delicious! Kashi Heart to Heart cereal has very little sugar in it and it is only 120 calories per serving.

I also enjoy Cream of Wheat on occasion in the mornings. You can also do a cup of yogurt with half a banana, or just a grapefruit and coffee in the morning. There are lots of healthy things to eat instead of just having cereal.

Check the meal plans in Spark for breakfast. There is a variety.

Good luck.
