Although I don't like it as much as the SPAT, I have a Fit Bit One that syncs through the computer via a dongle just like the SPAT does and it is compatible with SP. You can also wear it on your waistband, pocket, shoe, etc. like the SPAT. Just FYI since some folks need a device that doesn't require a smart phone interface.

Another challenge for me appears to be that many of these trackers require smart phones for syncing information via Bluetooth. And, I don't even own a cell phone, let alone a smart phone. I need something that I can sync via a computer not a smart phone.

Very sad about losing SAT usefulness. I love that it clips to my shoe and counts chair marching as well as walking with my cane. However, I found this article that might help folks. Not personal recommendations, but a start in our research for a replacement: https://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/fitness

ALSGIRL4 - I like the ones that don't need to be charged, as well. Thanks for your input. It was timely now that we need to find replacements in February.

I have a spark activity tracker. I don't really pay attention to it as much as I use to. I have a vivofit2 and love that. Most people go for fitbits. I did think about it but you have to charge them and my vivofit has a watch battery in it. It doesn't need to be charged. I have to change the battery once a year and that to me is easier to do. I would either forget to put it back on or walk out and it not be charged. So in regards to ease of use i have to say for me my vivofit is wonderful. I am very organized but I can get distracted easily and I can keep my tracker on 24-7 and that works for me. My tracker is also waterproof. I can swim in it or walk in the rain and there are no worries. I tend to dive into things without thinking about things. I could see jumping in the pool picking on my kids and there goes my activity tracker. Not a good thing for me. There is an app for your phone if you choose to use it and there also is a capability to connect it to your computer so it syncs. Once you do that it will tell you about how you slept. How long you slept. You can connect with other Garmin users. There is even a group on Sparkpeople who have it if you choose to join the team. It tells you the distance you have walked. You can run, do stairs and other activities. That is all I can think of right now. Although I will probably think of other stuff once I post this. If I can be of any help just let me know.
Hugs!

Janet, since this forum can only be accessed by SPAT owners, you may want to find some other forum accessible to all Spark members to get the answer to your question. Perhaps try on the community message boards?

Hi, I'm still using my Spark Activity Plus Tracker, but I'd like to know more about the pros and cons of the other tracking devices Sparkpeople are using and enjoying.
