Have no idea how much I've tracked in the last week. My dongle stopped working last Thursday. They said they are sending me a new one but so far, nothing! I certainly hope I get it before the end of the year so I don't lose out on the Run Rudolph Challenge. I was at 86% before it stopped working. I know the post office is busy but I would think it should be here by now even with holiday mail. emoticon

Just checking in. I almost lost my SPAT today. If it wasnt for the custodian that asked me if I knew what that was on the floor I wouldnt even have noticed it was missing until I got home.

I tracked almost 4800 steps yesterday. That's the first I tracked that much in a week. I think I'll go to the gym after work tonight though.

I wear mine in the middle of my bra. I have one that slips over your head, like the Genie Bras, only cheaper. LOL Very easy to keep track of there.

Make sure it's safe and secured in your pocket. I've read a couple of horror stories where it got lost while at the gym.

Hmmm, never thought of putting it inside my pocket; I will give that a try the next time I'm not wearing lace up shoes. That was the first time I ever tried it on my bra - it was a front closing one and I put it on the left side about an inch from the plastic closure. I wouldn't think because it hung sideways that it affected my reading? It was really snug. I'm not real concerned about the accuracy - I just need the motivation to move more and see my lights lighting up!!!

I, also, find myself continuously motivated by the SPAT. I'm disappointed on the days I don't "light all the way up", and appreciate the positive messages on the days that I do.

Scoobees, where on your bra did you wear it? I have done that since I've gotten my tracker and always get pretty good readings. I put it on the left side about an inch or two from the middle. If I wear it there, I don't forget it. I'm afraid if I put it on my shoe, I'd forget to change it over to my workout shoes, etc. Plus it's safer in there.

It seems pretty accurate when I wear it on my shoe...however due to lots of snow today, I wore boots and tried it on my bra. Not good lol. The whole day Christmas shopping and it only tracked 20 steps. Ugh. It's ok though; trial and error.

Hey Everyone! Just a note ... it makes me feel so good to hear all of the POSITIVE responses to owning the SPAT. For awhile, it seemed as though the only feedback was negative. You all sound as happy with it as I am. Don't know what I'd do without it. What a motivator! I'm getting more steps every day that I wouldn't have done in a month not that long ago. I love my SPAT!

Have a wonderful day, Everyone!

I have to sync mine by hitting super fat with all my fingers at the same time like a slapping my hands together it does it after 5 times like when you clap you hands put tracker in ine slap with opposite 5 times real fast the tapping has to be quick with the 5 taps it's not fast enough on mine or my pressure not hard enough unless I slap it to activate but you will see your come on when it works

Marilyn You start where you start One time when I was feeling down I was flipping channels. I came across this show about people that had to be in a nursing home because of their weight. A small wheel chair held a 400 pound person. Everyone that could got up and went to the gym everyday. All the machines were such you could do them sitting down. They were having a party that evening, one guy had gotten out of his wheel chair and pushed it for 10 steps. I walk with a staff, sometimes my feet hurt and I don't get my steps in, then I think about that show.

Objects in the mirror will get thinner than they now appear

So glad I purchased the tracker.

I have just been diagnosed as diabetic and told it can be controlled by food and exercise at this time but that I need to lose 60 pounds within next 12 months as a start.

I started tracking my steps when I purchased the tracker back in September. Something I noticed on Saturday that was interesting. For the month of November I recorded 18,202 steps but in the 1st 7 days of December I have recorded just over 15,000 so big improvement. Now no 18,000 steps for a month is not a lot when a lot of you do 10,000 in one day but for someone who has difficulty getting mobile this is a huge accomplishment. I also noticed that I have now walked over 40 miles = and my daily number is now at 1.2 miles where 1 week ago I could just get in 1/2 mile.

Do I like my tracker? YES
Does my doctor like that I am wearing this tracker? YES
Has the use of this tracker helped in bringing down my glucose numbers? YES

Thanks so much sparks for all that you do for us

2 degrees this morning--windchill of -14. Won't be doing any walking outside. Walked around the house for about 12 minutes and hopefully it will get me a start on my cardio. Thought I'd have to skip Jazzercise tonight for Granddaughter's concert. Concert doesn't start until 630. I will be able to take at least the cardio and have plenty of time to get ready for concert. emoticon

Very motivating indeed!! I still had around 500 steps to hit my 10,000 goal and was NOT going to sit on the couch until my tracker was completely lit this evening. Marching around, pacing room to room - whatever! Of course the dog thinks I'm nuts - but that's ok cuz my lights are lit!!!!

This FitBit is so addictive! I just had my first full day and logged nearly 7500 steps. I'm interested to see what happens on a normal workday. I'll let ya'll know. emoticon

I've had my tracker for three days and I love it! It really motivates me to push myself. I've hit my goal each day.

I just put on my tracker. I'm so excited to get started. I set my stp goal at 5000 stps per day bc on really good days I can do 5-7000 steps but on not so good days I can only get 2-3000 stps per day according to my old pedo. I'm curious. Bad days are due to my MS so I can't beat myself up for that but this is my motivator to keep moving. Wish me luck. Good luck to everyone on ur journies.

Thanks, Jeannie!! I also meant to ask about Zumba because I want to take that class at the gym and also the Afro-Belly Boogie, which I have taken in the past. Now I know how to handle those workouts.

emoticon Yes, Strength Training has to be added Manually. You are not moving continuously so the Tracker really can't measure it. I have noticed too that some Classes like Zumba don't register because there are times when your Feet aren't moving. Those Workouts have to be added Manually also. I am not sure if the Steps/Mileage during those Classes would count toward the Monthly Challenge since they would be Manually Added?

The calibration of my Spark Tracker made a difference and it was more accurate today. However, today after my hike, I reclassified the workout event from walk to hiking and it displayed even more accurate information. Feeling great about my Spark Tracker now!

QUESTION: when you guys do strength training (w/machines or dumbbells) do you manually have to input the workout???
