It's certainly upsetting when health issues arise, and vertigo is certainly upsetting. It was so encouraging to hear that you're getting "back on the horse" and doing the small things that work - water and tracking - and I know you'll succeed. This community will help hold you up! Your signature line indicates you have another support system in place as well, none better. :) Hang in there, and I hope the day is one that brings you joy.

I have been very discouraged and unmotivated lately. I suffered a bad episode of vertigo which lasted for a whole month. I didn't drive during that time because of the dizziness. I am feeling better and ready to get back on program. I plan to get back to counting calories and drinking my water. I need to get back to doing my chair exercises also. I bought a new dvd but my monitor went on my lap top and my dvd player is not working. At least it is quiet at work maybe I can do something today.

hi team....

auntbees...I have the same problem right now...I do fine till evening..and the lose it....
and eat anything....not giving up yet...

Kerry155...Happy anniversary!

still not so much in control here....but better than yesterday....
I know I am making excuses....my life feels out of control right now...too many visitors...too many commitments....no time to think...and I don't get to the SP till evening....

will try to 'diary' all that tonight and come up with a better plan for when there is no time to do the original plan which took up most of my time....
will try to complete all my commitments and then try not to overbook my time from then on......taking care of the churches "youth retreat" for NY eve....helping to feed 60+ for Monday night and Sunday and helping to clean up and all that....
just way to extended here....and eating over it...

2013 will be my year to do this....Meg

Had a very quiet day-Sunday School, church and then lunch out to celebrate our 41st anniversary. Had a short nap before going back to church to count money and now computer time. My only splurge for the day was a few mini reese's pb cups.

Hi Angels. Most of the snow has stopped, just flurries off and on all day today. Since church was cancelled, DH and I took a drive down some back roads. We were gone for 4 hours including stopping for lunch and gas.

Tomorrow I'm going to meet my DIL's mom and we're going to do some shopping. I don't know if DIL is coming or not. At least I'll get to a couple of stores.

We just found out that a friend of ours has passed away last night. He was a funny guy, but had many health problems. RIP dear friend.

Until tomorrow, TTFN

I am excited for you, Emsemail.... Les Mis is on my list for sometime this month. I love the musical. Enjoy your walk!

It is great to see all of the successes listed here. I am on day three after having gained 12 pounds- seemingly out of nowhere. However, I am feeling that I will make good progress using this option.
Have a great day everyone!

AthleteLori, Your comment about being determined to become an athlete - to be seen that way instead of as "the fat girl" - really made me think. I could hear your determination in that image, and I believe you'll succeed! Thank you for putting that dream out there - I know it has inspired me.

Good day so far. Did an easy workout after the last couple of days of hard ones. Had breakfast and I have to show houses this afternoon so I may do the treadmill when I get back and watch the Packer Game. Go Pack!

Still excited! Going to see
Les Miserable today and plan to walk to there..it's only about one mile...but it's uphill!

Also will allow myself popcorn but will measure it, no butter and no soda. I gave up soda about 3 months ago and am VERY happy with that decision!

Morning Team!!! Well today is the day I get back on track. I had a good breakfast and then a great work out. I put my back out the other day but each day its getting better. I thought I would try a work out and I did good. I didnt go too low with the squats and I wasnt in pain.

I am starting slim in 6. I hope I can stick with it. I gave up on it before. Just got sick of the repitition. But I am going to really try to stick with this.

I hope you all have a great day today!!!!

Things are going slowly for me, but they are going. I stopped using SparkPeople awhile ago. I ended up gaining a ton of weight after some medical challenges. I'm back on SparkPeople and determined to get myself healthy and strong.

Today, I was a little over calorie range, but I'm still happy with my progress. I ate one fruit and one vegetable. I exercised for 11 minutes, and I listened to my get up and go song. It was a good day. I'm going to keep it up.

I hope everyone does well tomorrow.

hi team....

back for more motivation....
did lots of sleeping and catching up on my quiet time and reading today.....
and you know what? my attitude is much better...
I did everything right till I tried to put away all the chocolates....
one led to another...and sigh....gave in again...
it seems once I start I cannot stop...

ok...that is a clue right???
In my faith...we fast from all dairy and meats till Christmas...and....well....I am just really enjoying the heck out of them....its been 40 days of waiting...maybe this is why I am just really having a hard time putting them down?? I have been Orthodox Christian for 30 years...but had not gained all this weight till the last 4 or so...and hey I am getting older too...but I do really really want to feel better again...and be able to walk without so much
pain....(from carrying all this extra weight)....but
when I get in front of that chocolate...well...its like I forget all that for the moment...
I am going to write my spark coach to see what they suggest....

I did walk even though its slippery....I enjoyed it immensely...
but my knees hurt after I walk....
anyone else having this problem???

ok...off to track my "way over" calories.....
tomorrow I will try tracking as the day goes as I am home all day....that should help..

I'm having a GREAT day! Walked for 90 minutes this am, cooked up a huge pot of soup (healthy), counted calories and measured, drank lots of water!

Now I just need a different plan when I get that urge to eat. It's actually painful and very difficult to resist. I'm not sure what it has to do with but yesterday I decided to go to bed...it was 6:30pm!!! I would like to find a different plan than going to bed early!

I'm excited to reach my goal and fully expect to!

Just got done gathering up wood for my Friend. Went walking around the neighborhood collecting sticks that have fallen due to the last few storms we have had. Took three trips to get all the wood to her house. But, I did find the jackpot at the catholic church across the street. Tons of really big and long branches to take up. Made a pretty big pile of wood and filled up her kindling box. She loved the late Christmas gift, and I had to take my coat off because I was getting to hot.

Hi gang. Well, another round of snow. It's been snowing since early this morning and it's still snowing, although not as hard. With Wednesday's storm and today's, we have close to if not a foot on the ground. Church is cancelled for tomorrow already.

DH and I wound up going into town after I got off work last night for supper and groceries. We also went into Walmart to see what they had left of Christmas. Not much. I did grab a couple of gift packs of Axe for DS for next Christmas. He loves the stuff. Anyways, going to meet our DIL and her mom on Monday and hit a few stores to see what we can find.

Have a great day and stay safe.

Getting those new years resolutions fine toned so I can achieve them this year. Been reading a lot of the articles about goal setting this week. Yesterday was a little stressful and I did eat things I shouldn't have, but I'm going to let this new day be better. I plain on going for a walk later and gather up sticks along the way. My friend has a chimney and always needs kindling. It's been storming all week so there's plenty on the sidewalks and streets. I got a big bucket to take with me.

I have been an on again, off again "sparkler" since 2008. However, since starting the Spark Coach I have lost weight. I started at 180lbs. My highest ever, even while pregnant. Now, I am down to 165.6. That has only been the last few months. I am taking it slow and not beating myself up if I don't do traditional exercise. I do lots of other moving and count that in my day. I will stand when I am on the computer and do lower body exercises and when I have the ability to take stairs or park furthest away I do. Lastly I have stopped eating after 7pm, and cut down on high calorie drinks and replacing with water. Woo Hoo emoticon

ok....

I watched quite a few motivational things last night...

I did better today....
till about 4...then I ate some things loaded with calories...
but I tracked it all...and I am glad to know what those few bites add up too....
and plan for a better tomorrow...

I did walk my first mile since my foot was fractured!!!!!
woo hoo for me!
my knees hurt and I concentrated on taking it slow and just doing the distance...and by the time I finished my knee did not hurt!
that felt sooooo good to do a walk!
supposed to snow a lot tonight....but I think I will just get the boots out or get out my old walking CD's...

so feeling a bit more motivated at this point....
and I am very good at getting a lot done too...in so many areas of my life...but
when it comes to myself and losing weight...I am lazy too...

but we can change...making small goals...it will happen...
lets do this....Meg emoticon

I was going to quit Sparkcoach but decided to keep going for 1 more month. Since returning to work I haven't checked in much and quit tracking my food. I did put into the tracker what I planned on eating. That helped me make up my menu for the week but I never came back and corrected it to what I actually ate. I'm going to try real hard to get up earlier so I can check in before work. After 7 weeks of sleeping until I woke up it's difficult to get up at 0430 now.

Afternoon all,
I got new workout shoes yesterday so I put them through the test today. I did Exerbeat, my treadmill and Walk it Out for a total of 80 minutes and 460 cal burned. Shoes worked out great!

I have been weighing and measuring everything at home and I have been tracking everything! I am determined!

Newbie to SparkCoach - not so newbie to Spark. I've been lurking I think for the past year and now it's time for me to get serious.
Not sure what keeps holding me back - I've used the no time excuse, but yet I had hours to play games on Facebook or watch TV. I don't think it's laziness, I'm hardworking in so many other areas of my life - I don't think laziness is the key. So ... I'm left with fear - maybe fear of change, maybe the fear that all of the things that I hope will change when I get control of my health and fitness will still be the same.
At any rate, I know that I can't let my life go on as it has been - I hate avoiding photographs or certain outings and I hate feeling the way I do about myself.
Hoping that this program can help give me the motivation to make the right changes in my life.

Happy New Year to all!!

Good afternoon team. I trust everyone weathered the storm alright. The next system is to move in tomorrow morning. I need to go to the grocery store, DH just might have to take me. We've already had more snow this season than we had all winter last year.

It's me and 2 part-timers the rest of the day. Everyone else is off. When 6pm hits tonight it's the start of a 4 day weekend as I have Monday off. I have to work on getting end of year stuff done for church and take my tree down and put it away.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. TGIF!!

I'm in trouble here....

helped with a friends wedding and guests...
there is a lot of food leftover in my house and all the desserts came here...
and I can't stay out of them....
just a bite here and there....
and when I took the time to add them up I am shocked....
it did not seem like so much....but I ate it all!!!
darn those cheesecakes...

so...
for the last 4 days...basically not much exercise...entertaining my guests and hers...and eating eating eating...
they all leave tomorrow....
I am looking forward to getting back to "my life plan"....and quiet...
I called a shelter near here...they are willing to take some of the foods and the church will take the rest of the sweets for New Years eve...(we do a youth retreat that night....and usually get about 40-60 high school and college kids...and they can eat the sweets)
so..
have a plan in place for tomorrow....
hope I can pull it off without "sampling"....
a lot of these things are more or less just things that remind me of my youth and Christmas's past....I don't really enjoy them so much and feel sick after eating them...

ok...feel better after sharing my struggle....
tomorrow...Meg

I've gotten to the point of actually using my treadmill everyday. I really like the fact that we've moved it upstairs which is where I spend my time because my office is upstairs. I do put my clothes on it, but I put my clothes on it so I can grab them the next day and work out :)
