Me again, I thought that Sparkpeople had an article about busting excuses for eating sweets, but instead they have an article called Arm Yourself Against Exercise Excuses. It is a great article that can help you with exercising! here is a link: www.sparkpeople.com/resource/motivat
io
n_articles.asp?id=1021

I could not find the article about the excuse busters. But it can be followed by what I remember about it, the idea behind it is really simple. I used it for my team, and had them do it, and I did it myself. It was great becuase my team shared their excuse buster list for exercising, and in the end we all helped one another!

1. List excuses you use to cave into eating sweets.

2. Now for each excuse you use write under each excuse an excuse buster.

For example:

1. list excuses I use to eat sweets

Excuse:
I have been good today I deserve to eat something sweet.

2. Excuse Buster:
Ok, you have been good today, but no matter how much you want to eat something sweet you know after you are done eating it at some point you will feel badly that you caved in! Instead of rewarding yourself with food go to a store and buy yourself something that costs between $ 5.00 and $10.00 or less.

I am going to start a list of excuse busters for myself, and if someone is interested I will share my list with you, just let me know, ok?

LITNESSFOG you can do it!!! emoticon Keep your eye on the prize!!! Every time you want a sweet think of a reason not to eat it. Sparkpeople has an article about excuse busters, and I will try to find it for this team. If I do I will post it above my post. I used it for my team and it really helped them. You are off to a great start! Keep trying your best. if you mess up one day shake it off and start over that SAME day. Don't cave into another sweet within that same day. If you don't eat any more sweets that day, if you stay positive, and forgive yourself you will feel so much better before you go to sleep that night.

I know what you mean. I work until 10:30 p.m. every day, and I can't go to sleep right away when I get home. This means I am rarely going to sleep before 12 a.m. If I manage to get to bed at that time, I can bypass the midnight snacking, but if I stay up later, my stomach is growling.

Tonight I need to try to go to sleep as quickly as I can because I haven't eaten since 5 p.m., and I have had all my calories for the day. Right now, I have some Quaker oatmeal cookies staring at me, and although they aren't bad for me, I am still trying to resist. Wish me luck! emoticon

Well, this is day 1 for me. I am a diabetic with a sweet tooth. The two don't work well together. :) I am almost at my wits end because I can't seem to get my sugar under control and it is my fault. Hoping this challenge will work. emoticon

Yes, now thats a familiar scene now isnt it? I will have just gone onto a healthy regime of clean eating when someone brings over some BROWNIES..lol...it really is sinister how this works. But here I am..back from grocery shopping and although I felt a little peakish( apparently my system is used to being loaded to the top always) I washed a pear and then wasnt going to make another decision til the blood sugar was stable. So now that I can think straight, its all good! Keep up the GREAT efforts all!!

Congratulations, everyone, for doing a great job! Welcome to the team. I am only on day 4, but I am looking forward to getting a much tighter reign on the amount of sweets I eat. Good luck to all!

Today, is day 1 for me too. I am going to try to keep this team in my head today as a reminder not to eat or drink sweets.
