Added in some strength training yesterday and went down 3 lbs. I'm feeling great. At least I don't feel like I'm going no where anymore.

I'm feeling like progress is very slow. I know I'm eating all the right foods. I only drink bolthouse farms juice (12 oz in the morning) and after that just water the rest of the day. I don't eat any junk food. I just can't seem to lose weight... I bought a probiotic so I'm hopeful that it will help me get past where I am. I was just happy to get below 200 lbs , but now am between 198 and 199 and seem to be stuck. It's surprising since I've only lost 10 lbs.

So true, Sean. Maybe think about throwing an extra workout in on the weekends, to help offset any extra calories you're taking in. I struggle on the weekends because my SO is home then and cooks a ton. He was a chef in his past and misses cooking during the week when he's stuck in his efficiency apartment, so he makes up for it on the weekends. He's getting better about how he cooks, but there is still a ton of temptation! I've begun adding a workout, usually both days.

I keep going back and forth with my weight. Weekends are my worst time. I'll show a loss during the week then mess up on weekends and gain some back. I'm going to work really hard to stop the weekend binges and stick to my health food. I'm still below where I started though and feel good about that. I've just got to be consistent.

Its really amazing how much one needs to think about when striving to be healthy. Its not just the number of calories in, but the quality of the calories, when you eat them, and what composition they are. Every calorie is not created equal, and that is something that has been really hard to me to get used to! I love convenience/junk foods, and while I haven't been at this very long, this past week I have avoided most of them, and feel like a million bucks! Kudos to you for not gaining, and being able to figure out why you may not have lost! Keep up the good work!

I haven't lost any for a week, but I haven't gained, either. I had been opting for some low-cal convenience foods lately because of my schedule (and laziness). I'm cutting the junk back out and hitting the clean foods again!

Sean, I think it's good that you're already thinking ahead. It might be a good idea to plan some attacks on that plateau slump. Everyone hits a plateau at some point, so having a few tricks up your sleeve will help you feel like you're not just powerless when yours comes along!

I'm feeling apprehensive. This is my first week and I am feeling FABULOUS, and I am losing lbs like nobody's business, because I have completely changed a lot of factors to start into a healthy lifestyle. I know in either another week or two, the weight loss is going to go from pouring off, to trickling off, because that is the healthy way to lose weight and that is going to hit me hard... At the rate I am going, healthy seems attainable, when it slows down the reality of the uphill climb is going to really affect my emotional state and mental discipline that I am starting with.

I had seemed to be stuck for the last few weeks despite doing pretty well with diet and exercise, but this morning I weighed in @ 2lbs less. Yay! It's happening in fits and starts, but at least it's progress.

Back on track after a not so good week. That little "cheat day" I mentioned turned into more than one day. It never ends well for me. Anyway my 2 lb. gain was from the salt. The two lbs is gone now because I'm back to healthy eating.

Y’all hang in there. Remember that it’s often slow going, especially as you’re working the kinks out of your plan. If you’re questioning why you’re not losing, re-evaluate how you’re tracking. Sometimes a couple of weeks, or even one, of tracking absolutely every single bite, watching your portions closely and not overestimating your workouts can be illuminating. It worked for me. I went into SP and tweaked my caloric goals to fit what I needed and finally got it where it needed to be.

Ultimately, calories in vs calories out is the key, but those calories in need to be quality calories. At the bottom of your food tracker page there’s a little pie chart that gives you guidelines on carb, fat and protein goals. Pay attention to those areas.

As counterintuitive as it seems, for a couple of weeks I weighed every single day and tracked it. Then I compared my 2 weeks of results with my food trackers for those weeks, as well as my sleep and mood patterns. It gave me some insight into where my triggers lay and what some of my issues were.

That’s just my .02 worth. It worked for me!

Discouraged these last couple of days.

I know what I have to do, but I just can't seem to motivate myself to do any of it. I'm also fed up .. frustrated ... with my own lack of initiative to get this going and keep it going.

I need an attitude adjustment!

The time to do this is now - not tomorrow, not next week, not next month. Now.

Weigh in was yesterday for me..no scale movement but down 1 inch in the mid section- Even when you feel like you ate spot on and worked so hard and you don't really see results- KEEP GOING, keep pushing- I'm trying to stay positive that I won't see results every single week but I just need to keep at it. I'm feeling pretty good about my progress- if anything I'm feeling stronger from my work outs!

I've had a few weeks where the scale barely moved, but they have balanced out with the good weeks. The pounds are not coming off as fast as I'd hoped, but they are still coming off so I'm feeling pretty successful about the progress so far.
