I use this resource to find trails wherever I'm going.

If you're ever in Louisville check out the Parklands.

The Parklands is a donor-supported public park system totaling nearly 4,000 acres of land across four (really five) parks. All four parks, located in eastern and southern Louisville, along Floyds Fork Creek, a tributary of the Salt River, will be open to the public in 2015 (3 of the 4 are open now) and connected by a nearly 19-mile recreational trail, a scenic park drive and about 100 miles of new hiking, biking and paddling trails.

I no longer in KY but when I did, I lived in Jefferson, Bullitt, then Boone counties. I now live in Wheeling WV, if I had a boat I could go down river faster and be in Ky in a 3 hours almost what ever part I wanted to go. I'm lucky as well as I have trail 3 blocks from where I live. 20+ miles long across several counties here in WV. It is the Wheeling or Greater Wheeling Heritage Trail (depending if its in the "city" limits or not). I'm hoping by summer next year I'm able walk 10 miles of it in one stretch one way. Also use rails to trails. You would be surprised what used to be rail lines turned into walk/bike trails (not a paid endorsement just a suggestion they visit here quite frequently during warm weather to rally people to use the trails and funding).

Working towards my goal isn't easy since I work in a fast food joint. I snack while at work since I work in the kitchen.

I would suggest a Google search of trails in your area. Good Luck.

My favorite trails are:

Freeman Lake - Elizabethtown (5 miles)
1st Creek Trail - Mammoth Cave (about 6 miles if you add another trail to make a circle)
Lake Neven Loop - Bernhiem in Clermont KY (1.3 miles, great for running loops)
