Hi all, I'm checking in late because I was driving all day! I'm at the ocean! I'm tired but so happy... I'm on the fourth floor of the Shilo Inn at Ocean Shores, and I have an amazing view of the ocean. I've only been here about an hour and I need to go to the grocery store and get some cream for tomorrow's coffee.

I might walk on the beach later when it cools down but I really just want to put my jammies on. That was a hellacious drive through Seattle, Tacoma, and Olympia - bumper to bumper at a crawl. I'm here until Monday and am going to make the most of my time and do some serious writing for my business. I want to go home feeling like I got a real jump start on it, since it is really hard to fit in more around my usual stuff.

Way to go, Debb! I love hearing you happy and with forward momentum... :)

Off to find a grocery store...

I have recently started drinking more water. I have noticed that I eat a LOT less when I drink enough, too. I buy the big 1L bottles at the beginning of my work shift and make sure to fill it up at least once for my 13 hour night. I also have 1-2 20z Diet Dews (trying to eliminate those - hard but working on it). At first I found it so difficult to get enough water but lately it has been easier.

Made my first official trip to the gym this morning at 1030... finished up around 1145. Strength training. Going to do some DDR tonight if I can. Might be too sore and my ankle is really hurting. I didn't use any machine to hurt it but walking around the stores some still makes it hurt. It is looking like I may hard a hairline fracture. Not willing to go to the ER for it, though. Probably just need to be careful on it... which makes cardio really difficult to get in. Going to try the DDR and see if it hurts, though. Brace will be on at all times!!

I felt the burn while doing the exercises. I did about 40% my max lift and 5 sets of 25 reps per machine. Not sore right now. Going to drink an extra couple cups of water to offset the muscle strain. I wonder how much I will retain from this!

Challenges for the rest of 2014 (from 9/1):
Burn 3000 calories/week with DDR
ST 90min/week
10% body weight lost by 1/1/15
Complete True Beginner, Core, Recover, and Cardio on DailyBurn
Exercise at least 10min/day for 100 days this year

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.

I don't drink lots but I do probably get in 6-8 glasses of water a day. I even actually took a Lasix last night because I felt that I was retaining fluid because my ankles were puffy.

Faith,
Yup that is 5 pounds of water, not fat. At 3500 calories per pound of body fat that would take a lot of over eating.

Relax.

I always eat dinner. I record on my tracker at work during the day but usually don't get back to it at night and usually forget the next day. Good intentions though to carry through with it. Usually meat or eggs in the evening maybe with a veggie or not. Maybe a piece of cheese to take meds with before bed if I have forgotten earlier with dinner. Or some unsweetened almond milk. Last night we ate at a place called Cath 21. I had a salad and the insides of a "wrap" with chicken, avocado and more salad stuff. I did eat a half of the flour tortilla but I really didn't think it would send me up 5 pounds and I was very on track the rest of the days this week.

I suppose it could have been sort of residual from the weekend when I was with family for my father's memorial and ate a few small portions of things I shouldn't have;. I was surprised to be down on Tuesday by a pound from the previous Friday.

I also have been riding the stationary bike everyday this week at my PT for 30 minutes each time.

Ok, thanks MAW. But this is my life, up and down, down and up. Not able to get past these few pounds. I will see what it is on Monday after being really good over the weekend.

well the scale told me I was 193.9 on Wednesday of last week and by monday it said 204. so thats 10 in 4 days. Blame it on the humidity or the waxing moon i guess.

Faith, you know darn well there's no way you gained 5 pounds in three days! It's just not humanly possible. Cut back on the cream if you want, but mostly give yourself time to see what really happened.

I am feeling so groggy today. Between a shoulder injury and the weather, deep sleep was hard to come by. I had been on a 3 day streak logging in and tracking but DH was on the puter all day yesterday so buzzt fini.
LIVINMYDREAMS Sorry to hear about the gain. i have gone back to drinking it black. the keto coconut mix seemed to be causing gastro disturbance. today was the first day since Monday that I have finished my travel mug, isn't it ironic that today is the most sluggish. I blame the humidity. I broke out into a sweat just husking corn in the shade. I guess today is prlly a good day to call a "rest day"

Good morning everyone! I am so ticked off this morning. I have not weighed since Tuesday morning and I was down to 236 and now today I am at 241 again. The only thing I can really think it might be is the heavy whipping cream. I love the stuff.I try to not use too much but I have had about 2 cups a day with it in and probably about 4 T each time or maybe less. I know that is a lot or too much. I wish I could do it but I will have to go back to not using cream. When I don't use cream I use butter instead. It seems that butter in it does not bother my weight loss. I usually put the hot coffee and about a T. of butter in the blender and it is almost like having cream, but not quite. Well here I go again battling those same pounds over and over again.

G'mornin' Everyone!

Had my 5th session yesterday afternoon/evening, at the gov't health care-funded program. They're still touting high carbs, although low sugar. That said, I am VERY large, but there are others there that are larger. And guess who has lost the most weight so far, not just in the number lost, but percentage of original weight?

Yup, me -- the only on one low carb. No surprise, huh?

Still doing my decaf coffee with heavy cream in the mornings, and then lunch around 1 pm, give or take.

I did err yesterday however -- still very low carb, but it was cheese. I bought some packets of individual cheese (cheddar and also BabyBel). Not good for me. I (wrongly) figured, Oh I will eat one at a time, as a snack, or a 2-3 for a meal, and as they are individually wrapped, I won't be bothered. WRONG! I a ton. I think it was 7 or 8 pieces in a span of 2 hours. NO MORE CHEESE FOR ME.

I was still way low in carbs all day, but sheesh. Another addiction for me. I was never that bothered about cheese when in the US, but sure love the stuff here. Oh well. I hadn't had any for a month, so not eating any will not hurt me. :)

Sliced ham and mayo for lunch today, and roast chicken with YUMMM, crispy skin for dinner.

Weather has been cloudy (a very few sun breaks) and quite warm for us here, for September (around 70 the past few days and forecast through the weekend). So I will get have to get my motorcycle battery recharged and enjoy some riding before the cold sets in.

Happy Weekend!

I feel like "peak" season has snuck up on me a month early, but it's really just Kyle's to-do list that has me feeling that way. I'm taking Monday off so hopefully a 3 day weekend WITHOUT all the obligations of last weekend will help me get on top of the stress again. All this anxiety is driving a vicious circle - the cure to this type of anxiety is action. But one of the side effects of the anxiety is paralysis; I'm having a hard time making myself do some of the unpleasant tasks that will, in the long run, make me less anxious.

I don't mean to be a downer today. I'm actually looking forward to the weekend and think I'll feel worlds better at 5 tonight when I'm done with work and on my way home.

So, Happy Friday, all!

Good Morning Maw and Thread! YIPPPEEE, it's Friday! No damage here, thank my Angels. Chairs, carpet, etc. in my back yard was blown into other yards. I have the OLD heavy iron chairs so it took a lot of velocity to move those off the carpet. Living on top of a hill is a challenge during wind. It was very humid yesterday . . . UGH! Safety during a storm is a GIFT.

My massage yesterday was good. I have one more massage in this package and then I'll move on. Their prices have increased and they are now using a marketing technique of 'we upgrade you to the higher priced service' .. . . Most basic massages around here are $70. If a deep tissue, hot stones, etc. service the price goes up another $20. I don't pay those prices. I can't pay those prices. I have a letter of need from my physician so I can deduct the expense on my 1040 Federal Tax reports. Still, I look for therapists that will give me a 'deal' and have great hands and knowledge and experience.

Today I teach aqua box at 8:15 . . . Yippppeeee! It's still raining here. The humidity remains. UGH! It's suppose to go down to 40 to 50 degrees after the weekend . . did my ears hear correctly????

I didn't purchase gas when on was the west side of Madison where the price is $3.339. Now I'll need to pay $3.399 here in town. I put 2 gallons of gas from my 'red cans' in the car as I scooted into the driveway at home. Silly me . . . humidity creates a lazy feeling for me.

Stay cool and dry everyone! I get IT! I'm a very lucky Woman! YIPPPEEE!

Hugs to Surround Us All as a Group! Connie, in WI
The pleasant thought for me today is LUCKY.

It is Friday, isn't it? I get my days mixed up.

Woke up a little after 3 again this morning, so got up and took my thyroid pill which needs to be taken at least two hours before my prednisone, which needs to be taken with breakfast. Then I have to sit up for at least half an hour. Worked on my food pantry blog which is due this morning. I'll go back to bed in a little bit.

The a/c repair guy is coming today to check out my system. No problems, though it probably needs a new filter. Just routine annual maintenance. And that's about it for the day.

Hope you all had a good week and that you have a great weekend! And Connie, I hope there was no damage from the storms. It's supposed to be hot and muggy again today, and probably rain, but then cool off with highs in the 70s for a while and much less humid. Hurray!
