Hello All,

I have been diagnosed with Diabetes since 2003. I have Type II. I use to be able to maintain it with just food and some really mild exercises. I am disabled and can not do a lot of exercises. I have a hard time to move around because of my back that is fused and my 2 bad knees. I use a recumbent bike mostly doing only 15 to 20 minutes a day on it. I really want to increase that. I do have an elastic band and I will really try to do the exercises.

Hope everyone stays safe, healthy, and warm.

Best wishes to all!

I will keep you all in my Thoughts and Prayers

i'm not so good at the computer end of things so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong place. i just documented my goals and have been seeing that glucerna ad. i had been feeling a little hungry but thought it was thirst so drank the water. still hungry. that glucerna ad kept coming up and guess what...i'm now drinking a glucerna! i have trouble snacking at night maybe this glucerna thing will be a good alternative. we'll see. earlier today i read an article on here about food addictions. when i see a pic or even hear a radio ad about food i have been known to have it within the hour. my sister tells me that if i were blind and deaf i'd be the skinniest person in the world! on one hand that's funny but on the other its maddening. so at least this time its something healthy. since getting involved on this site and doing all the reading i have been doing i'm starting to crave things like salads and vegetable casseroles! the other day i bought uncle sam's cereal. didn't plan to do it. didn't even plan to buy cereal but it sort of fell off the shelf on my head, so to speak, and i got it. 10 grams of fiber is not such a bad deal! i think it was because i saw the ad for it somewhere in my travels on sparkpeople. better than the other "traps" i've fallen into. thanks sleep well.

Hi all, I am Vickie. I joined this group tonight. I also have type 2 and have not had low numbers for quite some time. I just started recording my meals (again), and find I eat to much carbs! I must work hard on that! Hopefully this group will encourage all of us to do the right thing! We are all fighting for the same thing-to get off meds and get thinner!
Good luck all!

Welcome each of you. I'm new also and live in FL. I was diagnosed years ago but have not taken care like I should. I had lost quite a few pounds and was off all meds for diabetes. Then I put some of the weight back on and my sugars are creeping up. But since Jan 1, 1011 I have been just about 100% on program for diabetes and my sugars are under 110 in the AM and don't go very high during the day. I have 3 meals and 2 regular snacks. I exercise 3 days a week at the gym, with free weights and machines. Will begin swim aerobics again soon. They are starting a swim zumba class. Really want to do that one.
I get to go to the gym for free on my Medicare plan so I am really using it. My sugars were in the 140's in the mornings, before getting serious again. I will not take meds for it ever again with the Good Lord's help.
Have a great night and let's kick this to the curb.

Hello everybody ! I was diagnosed back in 1991 and have been on meds for it ever since, type 2. I'm working on my goals to drop this weight so I can hopefully be taken off of my meds, all of them, even this one.

The dr says it's very possible I won't need most of my meds once I get to ONEderland ! I'm so hoping !
