I felt the same way when I started. I did read an SP article about breathing technique and running and it helped me a lot.
I am up to doing walk for one minute and run for three minutes and now just going on lengthening how long I go for

I started following this program last week. I went to the Y Mon. Wed. and Fri. to get my walk/jog (run?) in all 3 days. Today I made it also; however, I was dragging and felt out of breath after the 2 laps of jogging I did. I walk 3 laps and jog 2 right now. I think I need to learn to breathe or something.

Today was an awesome day running, my trainer wanted me to go at a faster pace 2.1km in 12 minutes same as 1.3 miles. I did my best today but did not meet the goal. I will try more this week. It is a great goal to achieve anyway.

Hi everyone; Was going to start my 5th week of 5K training today, but instead I found I have a leaking water line going into the house! So, my exercise today was digging a nice big hole in soupy mud for two hours... Finally found the leak, now have to figure out how I'm gonna repair it (It's right in the middle of sprinkler pipe and electrical conduit)... So, no water tonight until tomorrow when hopefully I can get it fixed...

Good evening! I have been having some me time this week! My husband is away in Maryland due to a death in the family. So I worked out and now I am getting ready to eat some low sodium tuna with some mixed vegetables. I am trying not to think of the week ahead because I already miss my husband so much! Staying positive by eating right and continuing to work out! emoticon

Good evening everyone,
Yesterday I worked on getting the utility room and the kitchen back in shape. I am trying to do one room at a time Until the house is clean again. My son asked me if I worked out and I told him yes cleaning house. He said that don't count like lifting weights or running does. I told him yes it does.

Today my husband took our 14 year old out to breakfast. With it cold out today , I decided to cook up some soup. Then I took Robert to his bowling league. While there one of the parents said you want nachos, pretzel with cheese or a candy bar. I told her no but I am getting up to get a diet coke. I wasn't hungry and had already decided to not to buy the greasy snacks.

My son said that he was hungry. I told him that I was sorry but you decided not to eat the soup that I made so you can wait.

After bowling my son was invited to a sleep over, so my husband and I are alone for the night. My ask me after getting back from dropping Robert off, go by sonic and get us a blast here is $10. I told him okay.

Did take our dog for a walk today and played with our three cats.

Hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

I can relate with you Gingerpawz! This week has been an emotional roller coaster for our family. My Sister's husband went into the hospital for heart bypass surgery and one minute he was ok and the next, his organs was shutting down. Then the hospital was pretty optimistic he was going to be ok after they removed several blood clots and took part of his bowels and had to remove part of one of his legs, that he would be ok. Then five hours after that, he went into cardiac arrest and passed away last Wednesday. It has been so sad. My husband left on Wednesday to go to Maryland to be with his Sister. I feel selfish in saying this, but I want my husband back home! I guess you don't realize how much you miss someone until they are gone even if it's for a short period of time! My eating has been ok and I've continued to exercise, but this morning it was hard for me to have the motivation to do it.

Good evening everyone,
The last two years has been a roller coaster ride with emotions and eating. Both of my parents have pasted away and has taken me this time to cope with it. Along the way I started feeding the emotions instead of coping with them. I am ready to start losing the 60 pounds and to be able to do things again that were fun. I look forward to talking with each of you and supporting you.

I hope everyone has a good evening with whatever you do.

I cant get myself to jog. LOL I work out pretty hard and do a ton of walking at a fast pace but jogging or running just isn't something I can seem to do. I walk 3 miles a day and my brother who is getting ready to run a marathon says that for the 5k I should just walk and run the day of because of how much running hurts. there is a required pace to meet if I decide to walk the race instead of running.

on a side note I will be participating in a 5k on the 19th of this month as well as the one in May. so I will have a mid point time to know if I can meet the 16 min mile pace for the one in may.

Love great days like today! It was so nice out that I decided to take the family to the zoo! Loved the mile long walk. Had a blast.

After pulling something this morning, just decided to have a slow day today and not train.

Baby steps!

I did my 5 days a week and now I'm going into my 3rd week, I am on my wk 1 day 2 of c25k. I enjoy the jogging part but when I hear so much pain and torture that running can cause, It's kinda scary. Although I do feel better since I'm working out 5 days a week. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

If I can receive it... then I can believe it... and if I can believe it... then I can achieve it!!

Last week was a lot better for me. It was spring break but I got out and made sure I got my runs and strength training in. Now to make it another great week!

The only thing you can't accomplish is the thing you don't start.
