I finished The Messanger by Siri Mitchell. Loved the story, but the endind was way yonder too abrupt - like hitting a brick wall!

I'm reading Homelanders, on the last book - lots of drama! and When Love Gets in the Way by Janelle Mowrey.

God bless, Kim

I just finished Missing by Shelley Shepherd Gray. It was a very good Amish romantic mystery, but the mystery is still unsolved. Books two and three in the series aren't out yet. I hate when that happens, but they are on my "wish-list" now.

I just finished "Blue Moon Bay" by Lisa Wingate. I always enjoy her books. I also finished listening to "Rush Of Wings" by Kristin Heitzmann. Another good author.

I am currently re-listening to "A Moment of Weakness" by Karen Kingsbury and reading "Her Restless Heart" by Barbara Cameron.

I haven't gotten a lot of reading done during the trip, but I'll have it on my monthly list. I am currently listening to "Rush of Wings" by Kristen Heitzmann. I had already listened to it, but wanted something to take along. I looked through my old audible account and it had been one of the first books I bought from them so pulled it back up. I didn't remember much of it so that was a good choice.

I just finished Missing by Shelley Shepard Gray. It was very good. She switches a lot between several characters but they aren't long scenes so I never lost the flow of the story.

I'm also reading in my Homelanders Series and The Rise of Dibor, and I will probably start something light since both of those are heavy.

I got my new Fire, so nice! I also got some styluses which work great. So much less frustrating typing with it. I don't hit as many wrong keys inadvertently.

So glad to see your post, Pastor Jim. I too enjoy the books by the early preachers such as Brainard and Edwards, the Wesley's and Whitfield. When I grow weary often I think of these men and their wives, waking before dawn to spend time with the Lord before going about their day - suddenly my life isn't hard at all! Welcome, and thanks for sharing.

I'm on the last book of the Homelanders. So far iit's been pretty exciting. I started In Name Only and realized I'd started it before and then ran into cuss sords. I skipped to the end and ran into another cuss word - why call it Christian fiction when you are going to pepper it with language that shouldn't come out of a Christian's mouth?

God bless, Kim

I finished Pearls in the Sand - loved it. I also finished Rose of Winslow Street by Elizabeth Camden. Loved this one too. I didn't finish the first book I read by her, just couldn't get into it, but this one I didn't want to put down. I just barely started Missing by Shelley Gray (please, no cuss words!), and am still reading book 3 of the Homelanders series by Andrew Klavan.

God bless, Kim

I loved the ending on Apothacary's Daughter! Made the title even more relevant.

I am reading Pearls in the Sand, the story of Rahab and Salmone - love it!

I am going to be getting a replacement Fire. Mine isn't charging right, the port is loose. It makes me nervous with all of the info that I have on it, but I am going to be able to delete all of that and save everything to the cloud and restore it in the new Fire. Praise the Lord for being able to do this.

I've started reading the first book in Kingsbury's second Baxter family series, Fame. These books are easy to read and I'm finding them addictive, for some reason.

That's the great thing about e-readers, tons of books at your finger tips without the bulk and weight! Have a great time, Connie.

I finished my Lynn Austin book, Wonderland Creek. It was very good. I'm reading a Jerry Eicher Amish story, I Miss Your Smile, or something like that; and my Andrew Klavan book The Homelanders Series. As it turns out, I have read the third book in the series. But reading it again is refreshing my memory. If you have a teenage young man who likes to read, this would be a great series, and right now they are offering it as a 4-in-1 for $9.99.

Sister Angel by Ann Gabhardt is free for the Kindle this morning. There are other repeat freebies too. I have a hard time replying from that thread on my Fire so I'm slipping it in here.

Carole, I was surprised at the number of times she used the word. I know that some cuss words have become so common that even Christians ignore them or even use them without a second tbought. But Jesus wouldn't do it and they should disturb our hearts to hear them or read them. I'm disappointed that Christian authors have begun to compromise in the name of being "realistic" and compromised our safe reading place.

I'm almost done with my Lynn Austin book, Wonderland Creek. What a contrary heroine! I'm also reading The Maid of Fairbourne Manor (or something like that) - I just started it so no opinion yet. I have two more library books as well. Phew!

Kim, I'm surprised that you found profanity in Gray's book, but maybe I shouldn't be. It seems like authors are always begging their publishers to let them write more realistically.

I'm reading one of Susan May Warren's PJ Sugar books. Good so far.

Sandra and Tanya, Welcome. And Great lists. Tanya, that last one, 100 Verses Everyone Should Know. Let me know what you think. I've seen it and wondered what kind of verses they put in there and if it would makd a memorization program easier.

I was reading A Texan's Honor by Shelley Shepard Gray and had to quit after her fifth of sixth use of the word "hell" as a cuss word. Three or four were bunched up where I stopped. I was amazed that an author and a publisher I trusted had let me down and are now a pair I have to be cautious with. I hate it that Christian fiction isn't safe.

I am reading a book by Lynn Austin, Wonderland Creek. I also have two other library books coming up: The Maid of Fairbourne Hall and one by Tracie Peterson, the title escapes me.

God bless, Kim

I'm currently reading "Love Finds You Under the Mistletoe" a 2n1 by Irene Brand. Pretty good. I'm also reading a secular novel, "Double Shot' by Diane Mott Davidson. So far it's totally clean, but sometimes her books will have a cuss word here or there, although she is a Sunday School teacher and the church plays a big part in her books.

If any of you are into Jodi Piccoult books, you have to read her new one "Lone Wolf". I had a hard time starting it because it jumps around from character to character all within a given time period. But once the story starts flowing, and you get the characters straight, it was amazing!

I just finished an audio book by Robyn Carr....and I thought the Debbie Macomber book had language. I should know to just wait for Christian fiction to come available.

I am currently reading "Double Shot" by Diane Mott Davidson (secular but much cleaner) on my tablet and "Never Far From Home" by Mary Ellis on my kindle.

Yes, Carol, it was Bodie Thoene. I think shd said she and her husband went there in the Spring to teach and write. Another place I'd love to go!

God bless, Kim

There is nothing more important in your life than your relationship with Christ.

Something is wrong when focus is, "how sin does not separate us from God," rather than, "how God separates us from sin."

Live today with all you've got for Jesus. Never give in and Never give up.
