I cleaned the living room, replaced a miniblind with a broken slat, vacuumed and dustmopped. I FINALLY got a live person on the telephone about BIL's death. I've been trying to get someone at his church on the phone for a week! Whatever happens now, I left no stone unturned. Also confirmed service agreement coverage on computer, delivered two checks and checked on an outstanding check. It was a fruitful day!

I'm still making my bed everyday - thanks to this site.

Today is a very rainy day and I hope to get my sewing stuff organized. I have items that I haven't used in 20 years and need to clear that junk out.....

So far today, I've backed up my hard-drive on my computer (just in case.) ha ha

hey sparkers I am feeling the motivation right now! nothing like a new fresh planner to get me all fired up! (i love the busybodybook organizer). Put all Christmas stuff away, did laundry, got bills paid, grocery store run, and killed my workouts this morning! tomorrow I'm going to sort through my closet and get rid of the clothes I'll never wear again! I cleaned the toilet and bathroom floor and spent three hours in bed. Not a good day. I managed to cook dinner for Hubby, but not up to cleaning kitchen tonight. It will have to wait.

Nice work!

I cleaned my utility room and kitchen. This included declutter, putting away all the things I dragged out for Thanksgiving and Christmas, taking the "beverage" washtub and recyclables out to the garage, deep clean of stove, thorough wipe down of counters, shining sink, sweeping floor, wiping down the appliances and emptying the trash!

Then I went to the gym and did 35 minutes on the eliptical and walked for a mile! My dinner is in the microwave and I am ready to eat it!

Have a great evening!

Wrapped christmas gifts for friends I won't see until next week and then put all the christmas stuff away. Closed down my office until next week (unplugged everything and watered the plants). Went shopping for food for our skiing trip.

Today - Monday
I cleaned out my pantry. I took everything out
and removed the liners (washed them down with bleach).
I was able to throw out about 1/2 of the stuff in there.
I had soup mixes, cereals, spices, all kinds of stuff that was waaaaay past the expiry date!!
It looks so nice in there now.

I follow Weight Watchers and now I will be able to see exactly what is in there and I will easily be able to figure out what the "points" values are.

I'm really patting myself on the back over this!!!!

YEAH!!!!

PS: I even found several books filled with Blue Chip Stamps..............does anyone remember Blue Chip Stamps???????

Today I gave away a rolling cart full of scrapbooking materials. I used to be into scrapbooking, but haven't touched it in years. The cart was in my living room for several years, then I moved it to the garage, and today I gave it to a friend's daughter who does make scrapbooks and photo albums and she is also a 3rd grade teacher - so the students can make things with all the papers, pens, stickers, rubber stamps and on and on.
I feel very good about getting that out of my house and giving it to someone who can use it.
YEAH!!!! I'm going the "happy dance".

Hope you all had a good Christmas

I've taken gifts back for credit - things I had bought for my Energy Buddy who was relocating 1000 miles away (and her family) but she couldn't face the emotional wrench of saying goodbye so we didnt exchange gifts this year

Also returned for credit boxes of chocolates containing gluten and peanuts. I have recycled some as well - changed the giftcards! If they are not in my house, I can't eat them :)

Thanx for the info re the labyrinth on the gratefulness site - I shall make a point of visiting both this and the candles regularly as part of my gratitudes rituals

I followed my general clean as you go and put it away as you go routines at Mom's when doing dinner. I had the kitchen done and she didn't even know, lol! She thought there might be food to put away when I left for home! Was fantastic to prepare to leave and see a clean kitchen!

Yes, sometimes the clutter is not just things, but emotions, activities, to do lists.....

It helps to break it down into small attainable goals.

The candle site has a meditation labyrinth too, I believe. At least it used to. The site is healing for me. It helps me focus on prayer and good thoughts.

So today, I cleaned out most of the presents under the Christmas tree. I let go of some emotional clutter and I took a nap.

HI,
I'm new to your team and like the idea of working thru getting rid of the clutter in my life.

I kind of equate all the clutter with my weight and would like to get my whole life de-cluttered.

I also LOVE the "light a candle" site - thank you so much. I lit a candle

He is lucky he had you to list. You are a kind person.

Mom and Dad were older when they had me, and Mom worked for a lawyer, so you realize they were very thorough about wills and instructions. It sure made it easier for me as their executor. Luckily they both lived into their 90s. I also have instructions of my preferences and I have told everyone where they are. Unfortunately, most of my family won't listen. So, they will just have to search the filing cabinet after I get into my 90s.

Thank you, Cathy. I am ok now. It just took a few hours to "get it together." I felt so sad for him that he was in a nursing home. I visited him last summer and sent him cards and notes. I was distressed because I didn't have information to give them about how to reach his blood relatives.

I wrote up enough information for the funeral home to wrote an obituary and got that to them.

My thought this morning is that it is what he chose to do. His nurse said it was unexpected. Perhaps he just wanted to be with his family for Christmas.

I have concluded that I will write information that would be needed for my own obituary, list who should be notified, and some other information that would be useful in case of an emergency. I will put it in a suitable place and tell the suitable people where it is. I can update it quarterly or yearly using COZI for reminders.

Thank you for telling me about the online candles. I lit one for him. I will also light a candle for him tonight at Mass. It will be the "unveiling" of the newly refurbished church.

Merry Christmas to you, Cathy and to you ALL!

I will light a candle for your friend or you can. Just click on an unlighted wick. There are instructions after that. I know how it is to lose a childhood friend. Even though I had not seen him in years it brought all the other losses back too.

I am so sorry to hear that.Sounds like you have had a very emotionally drianing day.55 seems way to young to die.I am at a loss as to what to say...At least he is not any pain anymore.
That was very kind of you to write up what you could and to send it on to the funeral home and his mom's friend.
It kind of puts things into perspective and makes one thankful for the family and health one does have...
Hope you are able to relax a little bit tonight. The cleaning can wait another.Take care.

Sounds like you did well for being less than 100%, Suz. I kind of lost the afternoon due to an unexpected call. See below.

We don't know when we are well off. My late first husband's brother passed away today, December 23. He was 55 years old. He had gone nearly blind and was unable to walk more than a few steps due to complications from diabetes. He has been hospitalized or in a nursing home most of the time for the past several years.

He was never married. His parents, grandparents and only sibling are all deceased. His brother passed 18 years ago. He had a cousin and me listed as his relatives at the nursing home. I live 100 miles away and the cousin is out of state.

I remarried and was widowed again. I feel so bad for him that I was the only one they could reach other than a friend of his mother's and his church.

I attempted to search for the cousin. The phone number didn't work. I wrote up what I knew about his birthdate, location, parents, relatives, etc. and sent to funeral home and to the mother's friend.
I left my number and email.

There but for the grace of God go I. I am a year older, twice widowed, and my only sibling has passed on too.

I'm trying to tell Myself that he has gone home for Christmas. I'm feeling a bit emptied out though.

It will be ok.

A friend came over yesterday with her dog to introduce her to my dog because I was going to watch her dog for a few days while they were out of town. They decided not to go though so now I wont be watching her.Anyway, I had a bad headache so wasn't able to do much, even then I pushed it ended up turning into a migraine later that night.I vacuumed the hardwood, dusted a few things, tidied up the living room, and picked up after the dog in the yard.I am going to try to get a few things done today but am going to take it easy as I still don't feel 100% yet.

Did morning animal chores, cleaned kitchen, had tea with neighbor, she brought over a turkey and all the trimmings for Christmas dinner. It was nice to visit. I never got to do that when I was working ten hour days. GD cooked breakfast. Then we drove to town so she could walk her dogs, then back to the country to walk our dogs and then to the city in the opposite direction to pick up my cpap supplies, Back to the country to eat dinner, then to town again to trim her and her Dad's Christmas tree, and drop her off. While I was still there, I cleaned their living room, then came home and finished the first step of the candy making process we had started in the morning. Whew. That was work typing it. It is also our 19th Anniversary today. I think Hubby and I are going to celebrate tomorrow.

You will smile when you walk in tomorrow, CM!

I wrapped all Mom's presents and delivered them to her house. Since I'll be opening gifts there this will make Christmas morning much simpler. I won't have those things to carry out to car, unload, etc.

It has been such a pleasure to have these past few days off.

Have a great evening!

Nice work Sheila!

I stamped and sealed my Christmas cards, paid bills, filed receipts, checked on a missing check, picked up living room, went to post office to mail cards and made a nice lunch for myself.

Getting ready to giftwarp presents for Mom. After that I will go to choir practice. We will be practicing with the strings and horns for our Midnight Mass.

Have a great day!

Did morning chores, then drove to town to get sheep feed, drop off prescription and grocery shop. After putting groceries away, got back into car and drove to big city to visit daughter, drop off Christmas presents and pick up 12 year old GD.

Knitted, while GD watched a movie. We talked awhile and now she is reading while I catch up on SP.

Now there is an area I can work on. For the past year I've taken at least 60 hours of technology classes a couple hours at a time. I need to organize the handouts so I can refer to them as needed. I know I have the materials needed to do this without purchasing anything. I can punch them and put them in a binder easily! Thank you for sharing!

I have been organizing my notes from classes that I've taken over the past couple of years so that they're easier to get to and more organized for the future!
