The main thing I have learned is to eat something with protein in the morning. I feel full longer and generally seem to make smarter choices throughout the day.

I completely agree, The thing I like about the menu plan is it's a no brainer part of my day. I am looking at ways to substitute and realized that the menu will make substitution recommendations as well.

Thanks for the reply emoticon

The spark meal plan is a nice starting guideline for some. I personally have never used it and most of the people I know on Spark haven't either.

The most important part, is the caloric breakdown, followed by the macronutrients (carbs, proteins, fats). Essentially, you can have any breafast you want, as long as it has a similar number of calories and at least some protein and fat.

Some ideas: eggs and bacon/sausage, omelets, smoothies, yogurt parfaits, high-fiber cold cereal and milk

If you don't enjoy your food you won't stick to the diet, so I think that's the most important thing!

Hello Ivory,

I have a question. I don't have any special dietary needs per se, but I do have certain dietary likes and dislikes.

For example, today's breakfast had Cream of Wheat and Walnuts, I don't like walnuts and haven't had Cream of Wheat in a while but I wasn't really fond of it the last time that I remember having it. I am willing to revisit Cream of Wheat. I just haven't gone shopping for the meal plan.

Another example, I've not run across it in the diet as yet, oatmeal. I just can't stomach oatmeal, which is a shame, as I understand it's health benefits are out of this world.

I know that the meal plan is more like a guide line than a hardened routine, but I am curious if there is a source for subsitution recommendations.
