Today was a bad one after an awful argument with my husband. I think I still have postpartum depression, so I think I need to get back on my pills. :(

EVERY DAY!! LOL Just kidding a little bit. :-) My hardest days are weekends because I have no routine. I try to mentally plan what I am going to eat, when I can snack, and TRACK IMMEDIATELY when I do eat! That way I am constantly reminded of how I am eating and how much wiggle room I have left.

bieng retired, I can have a "break" anytime and am close to the kitchen always. So it would be great if I had my meals planned and healthy snacks available at all times. I'm working more on that.
I hate tracking food, probably because I don't have my meals planned, so need to change that

My toughest day is Sunday. I can keep it under control on Saturday, but not Sunday. I help my husband throw newspapers. So I go to bed around 10:30 or 11:00 depending on when I can get my son to bed. Then I am up at 2:45 sometimes we roll the papers in the garage and I am done around 4:30 but I do not get back to sleep until 5:00 or 5:30 and my son is up at 7:00 or 7:30. Sometimes if I am really lucky I get to ride along in the paper truck and for that I have to take Dramamine (a sedative)those days I do not get home until 5:30 and then I am so groggy. So all I do on Sundays is eat to stay awake. And other than roll the papers I do not get any exercise and I do not even get in 10,000 steps.

Friday and Saturday when my husband cooks whatever he wants--he does awesome during the week and gives himself permission to eat junk that I love because he'll run it off on Saturday... but I won't. Damn guacamole and home-made tortilla chips. That's usually my downfall...

Weekends in general are harder for me because all routine goes out the window. During the week when it's just me and the kids usually eat the same things, same times, but on the weekend we splurge, eat out, snack more...

My husband and I have been trying to eat out less on the weekends and that is a big help for the obvious reasons.

Now, that we all know our hardest days -lets come up with solutions to fix them.

I have decided when I work at home I am not only going to plan my meals (which on these days doesn't always work for me) but prepare them the night before the way I do for breakfast, lunch and two snacks when I commute into the office.

How about you?

My hardest day are those extra stressful ones at work. I just want to eat and eat and eat. I keep healthy snacks at my desk so I don't cause too much damage.

The hardest days for me are when I travel. I'm in the Air Force, and for the last 6 months I've had to travel for one week almost every month, and generally I don't get a rental car, so I am stuck eating whatever I can find on the base, which is usually taco bell, subway, chinese food, pizza. I try to hit up the shoppette and get lean cuisines - not much better, but it's an attempt anyway. Then when I eat so badly I start feeling really depressed, which makes it 10 times worse!

Hey you guys...it doesn't have to be a bust!! I have had many social events since coming back here, and have been VERY nervous before every one.

As far as restaurant meals...try to look up the menu online before you go and if they have nutritional info, better yet! Plan ahead a bit. If not, follow the SP article about eating out...no creamy crispy buttery...you get the picture!

Pizza time...we ordered from our pizza shop grilled chicken, fresh tomato and mushroom...boy was it good. I would have liked onions too, but hubby doesn't like them :(

When out at other peoples houses or social events (I go to alot of church functions...way too much food)put a few things on your plate at a buffet or appetizers, and get away from that table! One glass of wine of light beer won't kill your diet. Get engaged in conversation..."forget" to eat. At the dinner table..."eyeball" 1 cup of this, 1/2 cup of that. Eat that, leave a few bites on the plate, say that it was delicious and that you are SO FULL, then stop. I have had many opportunities to overeat in the last 7 weeks, and I have made it work...I have lost 15 pounds. I know you can do it too - Jason and Chloianna - once you get through one event and you are successful, it becomes easier...you get confidence that you CAN have weekends without disaster! Good luck to both of you! emoticon

More about the week ends. Tomorrow I am going out for lunch for a friends birthday. Tomorrow night I am going out for dinner with family and friends. Sure to be a bust even if I am careful.

My worse days are definitely fridays and saturdays when I see friends or family. Take this weekend for example. We're gonna order pizza(my favorite!!) tonight and tomorrow I'm going to a buffet with the fam for an uncle's birthday. sigh.

My worst days are:
- after house guests leave and I'm tempted to eat what I wasn't able to get them to take with them, rather than throw it out
- afternoons of days I don't eat enough in the morning
- when I'm feeling sad

I found out recently that while I was sick I had that feeling of just wanting to eat badly. I had little energy to fix a regular meal, so I wanted something quick and bad. Since I was aware of it I was able to fight the urge, but the feeling was nagging at me.

I also know when I'm sad it is harder to care what i eat, but i'm working on changing that too.

My toughest days are anytime I have social events going on, church suppers or meetings where inevitably there is coffee, tea and goodies! Also going out to eat, especially in a restaurant where I can't really look up calories online. emoticon emoticon

Days like today when I am so much pain and my limitations stare me in the face. These are the days when I just want to eat what ever the heck I want. Unfortunately have had to many of these moments :0) Fortunately, I have a good support system which now includes SP :0)

I am making some low fat peanut butter cookies but I am using splenda and I feel okay about it. I have done really well today and I have not reached for the chips and chocolate that I would have in the past.

Thank you for letting me rant :0)

Friday night is tough, because that was our Pizza Night, and I'm still trying to find "fun" but healthy foods that will satisfy my husband and keep me on track.

Saturdays are tough, too, because we're usually running around, and it's tempting to just hit a restaurant instead of going home for something healthy.

I would have to say the weekends also, my husband likes to go out to eat on Friday or Saturday and on Sunday my dad and I always eat after church and it can be hard to listen to my head and not my stomach. But to combat this I eat a breakfast with whole grains so I'm not starving when we walk into that restaurant.

"Decide what you want. Believe you can have it. Believe you deserve it and believe it's possible for you. And then close your eyes everyday for several minutes, and visualize having what you already want, feeling the feeling of already having it. come out of that and focus on what you're grateful for already and really enjoy it. Then go in to your day and release it to the universe and trust that the universe will figure out how to manifest it.

My toughest days are Sat and Sun. I have a lot of social engagements that involve meals away from home. It's hard to eat healthy in a restaurant because of all the temptations and my desire to have immediate gratification.

And what do you do about them?

My toughest days are Wednesday and Friday when I work at home and Saturday's when I do a lot of chores but my husband works.

I try to plan really well, my exercise always gets done, but to be honest I find it harder to stick to my food plans and my eating suffers. I believe this is why I have been stuck with these last few pounds I want to lose.

If you have any more suggestions I am all ears!

Now tell us yours!
