Hey guys. This group certainly hasn't been active as I personally had envisioned, and I guess a lot of that is my fault, since I haven't really been initiating a whole lot of conversations. So here goes.... :-)

I'm curious what kinds of physical activities people on the team are into now that spring has sprung. Personally, I'm training for my first half marathon on May 1 (The Flying Pig, in Cinci) I'd like to get at least one other half, or perhaps a full, marathon in this season as well (perhaps the Columbus Marathon). I am also training to do my first triathlon(s) later this year as well. I'm already registered for a kayak/run/bike tri ( ) in early June, but I also am looking to do a "conventional" swim/bike/run tri at the "sprint" distance in July (the ).

Right now, most of my focus is on the looming half marathon (little less than three weeks out). I'm trying to run at 3-4 days a week. My base run is typically 3-5 miles, and my long run is currently around 8miles. I feel like I'm behind where I wanted to be around this time due to a recent conference and a week of PTO. For triathlon training, I've joined a Masters swim team, which has helped *a lot*. I do about a hour of intense swim practice 3 times a week. I also try to squeeze in one or two days a week to do some weight training or kettlebell classes). So far, haven't done a lot on the bike, mostly because the Pig is looming, so when I have the time and weather that work well for a ride, I've generally been choosing to make it a run instead. After the Pig, I'm looking forward to a bit more balance with my training between the three sports.
