It is too early to call it yet today, but I don't forsee any problems. Last night I had my first treat of the season and that was a chocolate covered pretzel. I stopped at one and it fit right in with my nutrition tracker.

Did great today with eating and exercise. I did find a treat to enjoy in moderation and that is chocolate covered pretzels. One does a good job without too much salt and sugar.

I think moderation is the best way to tackle the holidays. It seems to be easy to overindulge when you keep denying yourself. So if you decide in advance that I will not go overboard and I won't overindulge you will come out ahead. I know that works for me. Moderation is also a good test of self control, it really is a mental thing!

I agree, just a few items in moderation. For example, I had two cake balls, but I passed up the fudge, cupcakes and cookies that were on the table.

I can do it. My success or failure is ultimately up to me.

When I get to a party with lots of yummy food I visit first and have only one treat - whatever I think looks the BEST - right before I leave. This works well for me, because once I have one treat I always eat more if it is easy - which it isn't when I'm in the car driving home! Knowing I will have the best treat before I leave keeps me from feeling deprived as I see what everyone around me is eating.
This works very well to keep my goals in mind even at fun food - filled events.

My plan for surviving this holiday season with NO weight gain and even slight loss is~~EVERYTHING in moderation. I have a more detailed plan on my latest blog post, but it boils down to moderation for me.

Hello everyone!! I thought I would put up a new discussion thread since we are in the holiday season! I know this is a hard time of the year for almost everyone. There is yummy food and delicious desserts at every turn~~office parties, office candy dishes, holiday parties and even your own kitchen. So what are some of your healthy holiday habits that you either already have in place or are trying to get to stick?? Do you have a plan for staying on course during the perilous food time?
