GLAD WE ALL SURVIVED APRIL.

WENT TO BED EARLY LAST NIGHT AND MY ALLERGIES ARE BETTER TODAY. WARM AND RAINY OUTSIDE, BUT COLD IN MY OFFICE TODAY. SEVERE STORMS PREDICTED THIS AFTERNOON. PRAYING FOR NO TORNADOES AND SMALLER HAIL THAN PREDICTED. HAVE TO WALK ACROSS CAMPUS IN THE MIDDLE OF IT.

I SYMPATHIZE WITH YOUR ALLERGY WOES EVERYONE! I TOO HAVE BEEN DOUBLING UP. IF I DONT TAKE SOMETHING BEFORE BED I JUST CANNOT BREATHE ONCE I PUT MY HEAD DOWN!
GOODBYE APRIL! I CANT BELIEVE THIS MONTH IS DONE ALREADY!

GRANNY, WHERE DID YOU ORDER FROM? HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF PORTULACA FOR THE ROCK GARDEN---SOME CALLED MOSS ROSE? THAT MIGHT FIT MUCH BETTER WITH A ROCK GARDEN IDEA. HOPE THE NEW FIG TREE DOES WELL. DO YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE?
MARCHEM, I HAD TO DOUBLE UP ON THE ALLERGY MEDS THE OTHER WEEK---THAT SEEMED TO KICK IT SO THAT A REGULAR DOSE MANAGES IT OKAY NOW.
NANCY, HOPE YOU DON'T GET SNOW.
WE HAD OUR ONE COOL DAY---NEEDED THE HEAT LAST NIGHT----BUT THE REST OF THE WEEK IS GOING TO BE HOT---LIKE END OF MAY INSTEAD OF THE BEGINNING OF MAY.
NEW CHAT TOMORROW--JUST A HEADS UP ON THAT.

I ORDERED ANOTHER FIG TREE TODAY. I ALSO ORDERED SOME BEGAL TIGER CANA PLANTS, AND A LAVENDAR PLANT. THEY LOOKED GOOD ON TV. I HOPE THEY ARRIVE SOON. I WORKED CLEANING OUT MY ROCK GARDEN BED TODAY. I WILL PROBABLY BUY SOME PETUNIAS FOR THE ROCK GARDEN. TOMORROW IS SUPPOSE TO BE IN THE HIGH 70'S. A LOT DIFFERENT THAN TODAY WHERE IT ONLY GOT TO 63 DEGREES. I LOVE WORKING IN THE DIRT. LOTS OF YARD WORK TO BE DONE. DH HAS REALLY WORKED HARD THIS PAST WEEK GETTING A LOT OF THE YARD WORK DONE. HE CUT THE GRASS YESTERDAY AND GOT THE GRUB KILLER DOWN. WE NEXT HAVE TO RESEED SOME AREAS OF THE GRASS THAT NEED SOME PATCHING. I WILL ALSO LOOK FOR SOME VEGETABLE PLANTS THIS WEEK. LOOKS LIKE THE TEMPERATURES WILL BE GOOD FOR PLANTING. WE WILL HAVE SOME RAIN LATER IN THE WEEK.

MUCH COOLER HERE THAN IT HAS BEEN---GLAD I PUT ALL THE NEW PLANTS IN THE BACK OF MY CAR LAST NIGHT---THEY WILL STAY THERE TODAY AS WE WILL ONLY HIT 60 TODAY IF THAT. KNOW THAT SEEMS WARM TO SOME OF YOU BUT WE HAVE BEEN IN THE 70'S MOST DAYS LATELY. THIS SHOULD BE OUR NORMAL TEMPS SO I AM NOT REALLY COMPLAINING.

MARCHEM, SHOULDN'T YOU HAVE ALREADY PLANTED YOUR PEAS? THEY ARE AN EARLY CROP. MINE ARE COMING UP NICELY HERE. WE ARE GOING TO TRY GROWING CANTALOPE THIS YEAR.
NANCY, SORRY YOU COULDN'T FIND THE TOMATO PLANT TO BABY.
EVELYN, NICE THAT HE CAME OVER AND HELPED OUT.
GREENHOUSES HAVE LOTS OF HOLES ON THE TABLES. WE SOLD ALMOST ALL THE GERANIUM HANGING BASKETS AND THE VINCA WENT FROM A WHOLE SECTION AND A HALF TO ABOUT 1/3 OF A SECTION. LOTS OF MARIGOLDS LEFT BUT THEN SOME WE JUST STARTED SO THEY ARE SMALL. WE STARTED OUT SLOW BUT DEFINITELY PICKED UP AFTER THAT. I WAS BUSY ANSWERING QUESTIONS AND HELPING CUSTOMERS FOR MOST OF THE TIME I WAS THERE.

NANCY--SO HAPPY THE STOVE IS FIXED.

LECATES--EXCITED ABOUT YOUR GREENHOUSE SALES. GLAD THEY'RE GOING WELL. AS FOR GRADUATION, MY SCHOOL'S ISN'T FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS, BUT THE STUDENT HAD AN EARLY PARTY. WE HAVE ONE MORE WEEK OF CLASSES AND THEN FINALS. I THINK HE JUST WANTED TO CATCH AS MANY PEOPLE AS HE COULD BEFORE THINGS GET CRAZY. MY DEPARTMENT IS HAVING AN ALUMNI PICNIC TODAY, WHICH I'M ABOUT TO HEAD OUT TO.

WHEN I GET BACK FROM THE COOKOUT, HUBBY AND I WILL PLANT ZUCCHINI, YELLOW SQUASH, CANTELOPE, AND WATERMELON. MAYBE, PEAS, IF WE STILL HAVE THE ENERGY. THAT MAY WAIT FOR TOMORROW.

NANCY, GLAD THE STOVE IS FIXED.
REALLY SAD THAT WE CAN'T SPREAD THE RAIN AROUND A BIT MORE. BUT WE HAVE NO SNOW MELT TO ADD TO OURS AROUND HERE. APRIL HAS NOT BEEN A SHOWER MONTH FOR US. WE GOT SEVERAL DOWNPOURS HERE BUT LUCKILY NO MAJOR STORM ISSUES---BUT WE DID HEAR THUNDER.
HEADING TO THE GREENHOUSES IN A BIT. MAYBE ONE MORE WEEKEND AFTER THIS AND WE SHOULD BE SOLD OUT.

GRANNY, THAT IS WHY MY DH HAS BEEN BUILDING ALL OF OUR VEGGIE RAISED BEDS 20 INCHES HIGH---SO MUCH EASIER FOR US TO TAKE CARE OF AND HARVEST THE CROPS.
LOOKS LIKE I WILL FINALLY GET THE RAIN TODAY---MY STUFF ON THE PORCH IS COVERED WITH POLLEN---NO PLACE TO STORE IT ---SO A MAJOR CLEANING OF THE FRONT PORCH WILL HAVE TO HAPPEN ONCE THE POLLEN STOPS. FROM THE LOOKS OF IT I MIGHT HAVE TO TAKE EVERYTHING OUT AND HOSE STUFF OFF AND THEN HOSE THE FRONT PORCH TO GET RID OF ALL THE POLLEN THIS YEAR..
ONE OF MY STUDENTS--OUR ONE GIRL---IS REALLY DEPRESSED AND NEEDS SOME PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING---PLEASE KEEP ANGEL IN YOUR PRAYERS---SHE IS REALLY A SWEET GIRL.

MONDAY WE WENT TO THE LAKE FOR A HIKE, BUILT A FIRE AND TOASTED HOT DOGS FOR LUNCH. IT WAS HOT AND SUNNY.
TUESDAY IT RAINED, THEN GOT SUNNY AND BEAUTIFUL. DH AND I WENT FOR A BIG WALK AFTER SUPPER.
WEDNESDAY THE WIND BLEW COLD, IT RAINED, THEN IT SNOWED, THEN THE SUN CAME OUT BUT THE COLD WIND WAS STILL BLOWING.
THIS MORNING THE THERMOMETER WAS RIGHT AT THE FREEZING MARK, BUT THE SUN IS SHINING.

TODAY WE ARE PUTTING IN THE PLANTS. I HAD THEM OUT ON THE BACK PORCH. HAD TO WATER THEM DAILY AS THE AFTERNOON SUN DRIED THEIR SOIL OUT. OF COURSE THEY PERKED RIGHT UP AFTER I WATERED THEM AGAIN.

DH MADE ME A RAISED TOMATO GARDEN BED THIS YEAR SO THAT I WON'T HAVE TO BEND OVER TO WEED OR PICK TOMATOES. IT TOOK HIM MOST OF THE DAY TO DO THAT. TODAY HE WILL HAVE TO CUT THE GRASS AGAIN. OUR QUANSANT CHERRY TREE IS IN FULL BLOOM AND MY NEIGHBORS DOGWOOD TREES ARE IN FULL BLOOM.

I LOVE SEEING ALL THE FLOWERING TREES IN BLOOM. MY HYDRANGEA'S ARE DOING WELL SO FAR. LOTS OF NEW LEAVES. WHEN THEY BLOOM, I HAVE THE BLUE ONES. NO FLOWERS ON THEM YET. OTHER PLANTS THAT HAVE PLANTED ARE DOING WELL.

I NOTICED YESTERDAY THAT A BIRD BUILT A NEST IN OUR JAPANESE RED MAPLE TREE AND NOT ONLY IS IT BUILT WITH TWIGS BUT ALSO SOMEONE'S SHREDDED PAPER. IT IS RIGHT OVER THE SIDEWALK WHERE WE WALK TO OUR CAR. I WISHED IT WAS FURTHER UP IN THE TREE. DH IS PUTTING THE GREEN HOUSE BETWEEN THE HOUSE AND THE FENCE IN THE CORNER. THAT'S THE BEST PLACE TO KEEP IT OUT OF THE WAY AND IN THE SUN. IT IS PROTECTED BY THE HOUSE AND THE FENCE.

OUR POLLEN WAS ALL OVER THE CARS YESTERDAY. IT WILL BE THIS WAY UNTIL JUNE 1ST. THEN I CAN PUT THE WICKER FURNITURE ON THE FRONT PORCH.
IF I DO IT BEFORE JUNE 1ST, IT WILL BE COVERED IN GREEN POLLEN.

APPOINTMENT IS FOR THURSDAY TO HAVE OVEN FIXED. LIKE ANYTHING ELSE YOU DON'T MISS IT TILL YOU NEED IT. I WANT CHICKEN AND HAVE NO WAY TO COOK IT emoticon THE NEIGHBOUR UPSTAIRS SAID EVEN IF I WANTED TO USE THEIR OVEN DURING THE DAY TO GO UP AND DO IT, HOWEVER I WON'T EVEN THOUGH I DO HAVE A KEY. GUESS I AM OLD FASHIONED SO I WILL WAIT FOR MY CHICKEN.
BEEN RAINING ALL DAY HERE AND IT IS VERY DAMP I JUST TURNED THE HEAT BACK UP A KNOTCH, IT HAD BEEN SO NICE FOR A FEW DAYS AND I HAD LOWERED THE THERMOSTATS.

GLAD WE LIVE IN THE MIDSOUTH SO WE CAN START PLANTING. DH ACTUALLY COMMENTED THAT IT SEEMED WE WERE PLANTING EARLY THIS YEAR. I THINK WE PLANTED LATER LAST YEAR BECAUSE THE GROUND WAS SUPER WET FROM A LOT OF APRIL RAIN.

RAINING TODAY. GRASS NEEDS MOWING--I GUESS WE'LL DO IT THIS WEEKEND.

GAYLE, PUT THE GREENHOUSE UP NEAR THE HOUSE TO PROTECT IT FROM WIND BLOWING IT OVER. DO YOU ALREADY HAVE GRAPE PLANTS IN THE GROUND? tHAT WILL BE PRETTY WITH THEM CLIMBING THAT ARBOR.
I AM GLAD I LIVE A BIT SOUTH OF MOST OF YOU AND CAN PLANT EARLIER--BUT IT IS NOT USUALLY THIS WARM SO EARLY. DH NEEDS TO MOW THE FRONT LAWN AGAIN AND UNDERNEATH THE BUSHES UP FRONT NEEDS SOME MAJOR WORK TO CLEAR THEM OUT. MIGHT HAVE TO ASK MY COWORKER TO COME HELP WITH THAT ---HE CAN GET DOWN ON THE GROUND AND WE CANNOT.
NANCY, OF COURSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART---THEY JUST DON'T MAKE THINGS LIKE THEY USED TO.
WE GOT THE LAST OF THE POTTING SOIL YESTERDAY AFTER I GOT HOME FROM WORK---THEN WE SPREAD IT OUT AND I PLANTED THE GRAPE TOMATO PLANT HAS IT ALREADY HAS BLOSSOMS ON IT AND NEEDED TO BE IN SOMETHING BIGGER---i CAN ALWAYS PUT SOMETHING AROUND IT IF WE HAVE A FROST, BUT IT IS NOT EVEN GETTING THAT COOL AT NIGHT TO BE WORRIED ABOUT THEM. I MIGHT PLANT THE CUCUMBERS TONIGHT.

WELL THE TECHNICIAN CALLED ABOUT 8.30 YESTERDAY MORNING AND SAID HE WOULD BE HERE BETWEEN 1 AND 3.. HE SHOWED UP AT ABOUT 1.30 AND HAS TO COME BACK, THE CONTROL BOX FOR THE OVEN HAS BLOWN, MOST LIKELY WHEN THE POWER CAME BACK ON AFTER THE OUTAGE, HE HAD ORDERED A NEW ONE WHEN THEY GOT MY CALL CAUSE HE WAS SURE THAT THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER WHEN HE LEFT THE SHOP YESTERDAY MORNING THE PIECE HAD NOT ARRIVED. SO WHEN HE WAS HERE HE CALLED THE SHOP AND IT HAD BEEN DELIVERED BUT TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION, TOO FAR TO GO GET IT.. SO TODAY IT IS BEING TRANSFERED UP HERE AND THE REPAIR OFFICE WILL CALL ME TODAY TO GIVE ME ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO COME AND INSTALL IT. TALK ABOUT A RUN AROUND.PROBABLY NOT TILL THURSDAY, HE SAID THERE HAD BEEN A LOT OF CONTROL BOXES THAT HAD TO BE CHANGED DUE TO THEM BEING BLOWN WITH THE POWER SURGE..I HAVE HAD AN ELICTRIC RANGE FOR 60 YEARS AND GOODNESS KNOWS WE HAVE HAD SHORTAGES IN POWER AND THIS IS A FIRST FOR ME
I WANT TO GO GET MY MINI TOMATO PLANT AND MINI ROSE BEFORE THE CREAM OF THE CROP IS GONE AND WILL ALSO PAMPER THEM FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS BEFORE PUTTING OUTSIDE,, THE ROSE MAYBE A LITTLE LESS

IT HAS BEEN CLOUDY, COOL AND WINDY HERE, BUT ABSOLUTELY NO RAIN, AND THINGS ARE GETTING EXTREMELY DRY. I ASKED MY DH TO PUT THE HOSES ON TODAY, AS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO WATER THE PERRENIALS, AND OF COURSE, THE RAINBARRELS ARE STILL EMPTY... I CANT REMEMBER EVER HAVING TO WATER THE PERRENIALS THIS EARLY IN THE YEAR BEFORE. I DO HOPE THIS ISNT THE BEGINNING OF A DROUGHT YEAR...

I HAVE BEEN RAKING UP LEAVES, CLEANING ALL THE DETRITUS OUT OF THE HEDGE AND PRUNING OUT SOME LOW GROWING BRANCHES TO MAKE MOWING EASIER. I LOVE THE LOOK OF THE HEDGE WHEN IT IS ALL TIDIED,

I ENVY THE MANY IF YOU WHO HAVE STARTED YOUR PLANTING. IT MUST BE NICE TO GET STARTED ON THAT SO EARLY. WE WILL STILL WAIT ABOUT FOUR MORE WEEKS, BUT I WILL HEAD OUT TO THE GREENHOUSE FAIRLY SOON TO START BUYING MY PLANTS BEFORE THEY GET PICKED OVER. THEN IT IS A FEW WEEKS OF BABYING THEM ALONG IN THEIR POTS BEFORE MOVING THEM TO THEIR SUMMER SPOTS IN THE YARD.

I received a portable hot house yesterday that I ordered. Looking forward to DH putting it together today. Also received the arbor that we ordered. I bought that so that my grape vines have something to climb on. That also has to be put together.
I haven't decided where I will be putting these new toys. We don't have much of a back yard.
I also received my impatience plants yesterday. They will also have to be planted. Lots of work ahead.

NANCY, IT ALWAYS SEEMS LIKE THEY WAIT UNTIL THE VERY END OF THEIR CALL TIME ---HOPE IT GOT FIXED. GLAD YOU GOT OUT.
MARCHEM, MY LILAC BUSH SMELLS LOVELY, TOO. AT LEAST THIS YEAR IT FINALLY HAS A LOT MORE BLOOMS---LAST YEAR WAS ONLY ABOUT 5 BLOOMS ON IT---THIS TIME MORE SO I THINK DH CAN SAFELY TRIM IT BACK SOME AFTER THE FLOWERS ARE GONE.
MY HELPER CAME YESTERDAY AND WE GOT MOST OF THE TREES PULLED UP AND ALSO SOME WEEDS---ESP. FROM THE FRONT BEDS. I THINK WE EMPTIED ABOUT 6 BUCKETS OF THEM INTO THE TRASH. BETTING I WILL NEED HIM TO GET RID OF TREES AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS.
I TOOK DOUBLE ALLERGY MEDS ON SUNDAY NIGHT--THAT SEEMS TO HAVE KICKED IT INTO GEAR SO I WASN'T SO MISERABLE YESTERDAY. AND THEN I WENT TO THE POOL LAST NIGHT WHICH HELPED WITH THE MUSCLES BEING SOME FROM THE YARD WORK.

MARCHEM YOU ARE COMING ALONG NICELY ON YOUR GARDENING. I THINK I WILL PLANT EARLIER THIS YEAR AS IT SURE HAS WARMED UP---WE CAN ALWAYS COVER IF THERE IS A CHANCE. GLAD YOUR DD IS RECOVERING NICELY---SWEET OF YOU TO BUY HER FLOWERS.
NANCY, DID YOU GET OUT OF THE HOUSE YESTERDAY?
GRANNYOF 5---YOU ARE ABOUT A WEEK BEHIND ME IN THINGS BLOOMING. MY DAYLILIES ARE GROWING TALLER BUT NO BUDS YET. MY HYDRANGEAS HAVE NICE LEAVES FORMING. DAFFODILS ARE DONE BUT I STILL HAVE A FEW TULIPS IN BLOOM AND MY IRIS ARE BLOOMING NOW. I HAVE LILAC ON MY BUSH, TOO.
OUR PASTOR HAD US TAKE HOME THE EASTER LILIES. I BROUGHT HOME 2 OF THEM. HE SAID IF I CUT THEM OFF AFTER THE BLOOMS ARE DONE AND PLANT IT, THEY MIGHT REBLOOM LATER THIS SUMMER. I KNOW THEY WILL DEFINITELY BLOOM NEXT SUMMER IF I PLANT THEM. I HAVE JUST THE SPOT THAT NEEDS SOMETHING PLANTED THERE THAT I DON'T HAVE TO WORRY WITH LATER ON.
ALLERGIES HAVE REALLY KICKED IN AND I FEEL PRETTY MISERABLE. BUT I DID TAKE A DOUBLE DOSE OF IT LAST NIGHT AND DO FEEL A BIT MORE HUMAN TODAY.

Only finished one of my flower gardens. Planted some holly-hocks. Planted some day lily's last year. They are starting to come up, but no buds on them yet. The rose bush looks like it is coming to life. I should be getting some impatience tomorrow. I also bought an arbor and Purchaced two grape vine plants and a fig tree. My peoneys are up and buds are on some of them. The daffodils are done and so is my forsythia bush. The lilacs are budding and the
rose of sharons are starting to get their buds.
Spring is definitely in the air.

I AGREE ABOUT THE DISHES, BUT I ACTUALLY LIKE RAKING (MAYBE IT'S JUST THE SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT WHEN WE'RE DONE).

HELPED MY HUSBAND WITH THE TILLING AND PLANTED 2 ROWS OF GREEN BEANS. I PLAN TO PLANT ANOTHER ROW OF BEANS TODAY AND THE TOMATO PLANTS. BOUGHT SEED AND A FEW MORE FLOWERS YESTERDAY. I LOVE THE FEED STORE AND GREENHOUSE WE BUY FROM EVERY YEAR. SUCH HELPFUL EMPLOYEES AND BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. I USUALLY GET A MIX OF PLANTS FROM THE FFA SALE AND THE TWO PLACES I WENT YESTERDAY. DAUGHTER IS HEALING FROM ORAL SURGERY. I BOUGHT HER SOME FLOWERS TO PLANT THAT ARE COLORS SHE LOVES.

I HATE WASHING DISHES AND WOULD PREFER TO RAKE LEAVES OVER THAT CHORE. I AM GLAD I HAVE TURNED OVER THAT CHORE TO MY DH----LOL---I COOK AND HE CLEANS UP NOW THAT HE IS RETIRED.
THE GREENHOUSES GOT BUSY YESTERDAY--I HELPED OUT FOR 3 HOURS. WE HAVE LOTS OF HOLES NOW---A GOOD SIGN BUT EARLY FOR THAT. I DID BRING HOME THE VEGGIE PLANTS I WANTED.
THINK I HAVE A SPRING COLD COMING ON--OR ALLERGIES REALLY ACTING UP EVEN THOUGH I AM TAKING THEM.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A LOVELY EASTER---HE IS RISEN INDEED! emoticon

Hi Ladies!
I am not one for raking leaves ~that was always a chore to me ~and doing dishes ~when I was growing up! We have had cold winds and lots of rain here in Tennessee. The few pretty red and yellow tulips I had are now gone, but the irises are starting to peek their heads out and show God's glory in all their stately fashion! The last of the poet daffodils ~those pretty small white ones with a thin red line around the edges of the center are still hanging on. The azaleas are coming out now~ mostly deep pink. The white ones are so pretty when in full bloom ~they look like winter without the wet and clean-up!
I expect after experiencing 4 winters in TN , that there will be a cold snap within the next two wks., so I am waiting to plant most of my flowers for summer in May. My local Flower Lovers' Circle group will be coming to my house at the end of May for my talk on the use of moss in the garden.
I wanted to say I am sorry I am not always in the Chat room here ,but I like to try to get to talk with all of you once in a while! emoticon

J--I LOVE RAKING, TOO. WE RAKED OUT THE YARD ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO HERE IN SW MISSOURI. HUBBY TILLED ONCE THE OTHER DAY AND IS DOING THE FINAL TILL TODAY. I'M GOING OUT LOOKING FOR SOME SEED AND WILL START PLANTING THIS AFTERNOON OR TOMORROW. THIS ALL DEPENDS ON HOW DAUGHTER'S DOING. SHE'S MORE SWOLLEN AND SORE TODAY, BUT SEEMS OKAY.

LECATES--ENJOY VOLUNTEERING AT THE GREENHOUSE. THAT SOUNDS LIKE FUN.

J, THANKS FOR POSTING. WE HAVE BEEN RAKING LEAVES OFF AND ON ALL WINTER AS THEY SEEM TO BLOW OVER FROM WHERE OTHERS DIDN'T RAKE---LOL---I AGREE, GETTING RID OF THE LEAVES MAKES THINGS LOOK SO MUCH BETTER. WHEN IS THE TIME TO PLANT UP THERE IN YOUR STATE?. I HAVE LOTS OF THINGS ALREADY GROWING DOWN HERE IN MARYLAND AND WILL BE PLANTING SOON..
MARCH, GLAD SHE DID OKAY.
WE HAD LOTS OF RAIN LAST NIGHT---I NEEDED IT TO WASH THE POLLEN OFF MY CAR---IT WAS GREEN YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT OUT. I DID GET THAT ONE BED FREE OF TREES---FOR NOW---I AM SURE I WILL FIND MORE IN THERE OVER THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. STILL NEED TO PULL UP ALL THE OTHER TREES EVERYWHERE ELSE.
HEADING TO THE GREENHOUSES TO VOLUNTEER THIS MORNING.

Yesterday I started my "domestic workout-raking leaves! It will probably take me all week to finish. I plan on spending 2-3 hours a day raking the lawn. Maybe it doesn't sound very exciting to you, but I love it! I'm always satisfied with a nice looking lawn and satisfaction of having my property look better.
With any luck, my husband will also come out and rake with me. He is also starting up the garden. We will make our annual trip out to a local farm and get a load of aged, organic manure. It's a very good fertilizer, and every year we take the truck and trailer out to East Washington to the Ekhart farm for a $30 load of the stuff.
That's just what gardeners do in our parts of New Hampshire.

LECATES I AM GLAD I AM HEAVY TODAY,, WHAT A WIND
I AM A LITTLE PIEVED OFF TO SAY THE LEAST. I BOUGHT A WIRLPOOL RANGE 3 YEARS AGO (WHICH I AM GIVING TO MY GRAND DAUGHTER) I STARTED MY OVEN, MIXED A BUNCH OF BLUEBERRY MUFFINS UP. GOT READY FOR OVEN AND LOW AND BEHOLD THE OVEN IS NOT HEATING. TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET IT GOING AND NO GO. FINALLY CALLED FOR SERVICE SINCE IT IS STILL ON GUARANTY, EARLIEST THEY CAN COME IS NEXT MONDAY, SO YOU KNOW WHERE THE MIXED UP MUFFINS WENT emoticon I GUESS I AM STUPID CAUSE I WAS TOLD ON THE PHONE THAT IT IS BECAUSE OF THE POWER FAILURE ,, ALL MY ELEMENTS ARE WORKING SO WHY NOT THE OVEN. AT TIMES WHEN I AM HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE COMPUTER AND CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT MY DAUGHTER WILL TELL ME TO UNPLUG. WAIT 5 MINUTES AND REPLUG. WISH MY ARMS WERE STRONGER. I WOULD DEFINATELY TRY IT WITH THE STOVE,, GOING TO WATCH FOR THE MAN UPSTAIRS COMING IN FROM WORK OR CALL MY SON IN LAW..COME ON,, EVERY TIME WE RUN OUT OF POWER I WOULD HAVE TO CALL FOR SERVICE,, I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER AND AFTER THE SERVICE MAN HAS BEEN ON MONDAY THE STORE WHERE I BOUGHT IT IS GOING TO SEE THE IRISH IN ME

WISH I COULD SEND SOME OF THIS WARMTH TO ALL OF YOU.
NANCY, HOPE IT IS ONLY RAIN YOUR WAY.
WE GOT SPITS OF RAIN OFF AND ON ALL DAY YESTERDAY---BUT IT DID ENABLE DH TO START CLEARING OUT ANOTHER SECTION OF THE YARD AND CREATED MORE BEDDING ALONG THE BACK PART OF THE NEIGHBOR FENCE. iT GETS MOSTLY SHADE SO TRANSPLANTING SOME HOSTA BACK THERE SO I DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE ALONG THERE EACH YEAR. DISCOVERED THAT THE DAYLILY BULBS I PLANTED A BIT LATE LAST YEAR CAME UP SO I WILL HAVE MORE COLOR ALONG THAT FENCE WHERE IT GETS SUN. THE TULIPS LOOK LIKE I PLANNED IT AS THE TRIANGLE BED IS ALMOST TOTALLY RED, THE WALKWAY BEDS ARE ALL PURPLE, AND THE CIRCLE BED IS THE ORANGE AND YELLOW.
ALREADY HAVE LOTS OF HOLES IN THE GREENHOUSES---BUT IN THE VEGGIE ONE, WE ARE GETTING NEW PLANTS THIS WEEK AND WE NEED THEM. ALREADY SOLD OUT OF CUCUMBERS AND SOME OTHERS ARE GETTING DOWN, TOO.
