Good Afternoon!

I just got back from Ladies Lunch Out! We went to The Pink Octopus! We all loved it. Another local restaurant. I got 1/2 Sandwich w/Kettle Chips and one trip to the Salad Bar. At least I got my veggies in for the day.

After our rain yesterday, we have a beautiful day today. Sunny. blue skies and 78 degrees.

Last night at Bingo, neither Norm nor I won any games. However, Norm won the 50/50 drawing and that was $75. So that was the better pot to win!

Still on the fence about an air fryer. We just had a big discussion at lunch and everyone that has them, really likes them. The majority say get the Ninja and you can't go wrong.

WG - what brand do you have?

Hi Seesters. It is raining here and that is always nicer than snow.

LG, I saw your post on FB about the talk/lectures. It sounds wonderful. I love to hear the stories about the places I have lived and collect the history. I'm glad the kids came.

Glad Thomas is doing better with his back. There are a lot of things that can be done to help a painful back. Glad he found one.

The boxing class sounds fun. It is a good workout for sure. I remember my dad watching boxing when I was a kid. It requires a lot of fitness. My ex DIL loved doing it. She felt so much stronger for doing it.

My air fryer arrived last night. I played with it a little but won't really "cook" in it until after tomorrow. I hate to get involved when the grands are here. They aren't patient. I cooked nuggets today and Miss M loved them but Enterprise doesn't do any food changes at all well. He gagged one down and I'm dampening the outsides of the nuggets with a damp paper towel so they won't be crispy. I'll then heat them in the toaster oven and he should be OK.
Apparently I'll have to cook their nuggets separately next time.

Got to get going and take laundry out and do a bit of cleaning. I'd like to make something fun for dinner so I'll visit later.

PJ, love the critters! Glad you keep busy.

WG, you have the best parties!

Judy, thatís a very long day. I wouldnít do well with that for sure!

Sharon, you find great bargains!

Iím off today as Thomas had a back procedure done to help with pain. Heís doing fine for now.

He gave a talk on Sunday about our county & the railroads that were here years ago. The kids came & stayed for supper. We had a very nice visit. I did lots of laundry yesterday but didnít do the ironing.

I have joined a fitness class.....cardio boxing! Went yesterday afternoon with a friend. I really liked the class and the gal who teaches it. And it was a very good workout. Itís aerobics, boxing, weights, and floor exercises combined.

Hi Seesters. Cool here and more snow by tomorrow. Hopefully done by Thursday. I need to go to the eye doctor. I have had this one and he is an optometrist but I like him. He keeps trying to get me to buy new products, though. I need to get a prescription for eye drops for my mail order. New year, new plan.

I'm seeing more changes in my vision and am frustrated but it isn't bad enough to take care of it. I worry as well because my mom's macular degeneration got worse after her cataract surgery. I know mentally that it wasn't the cause but I can't help but think.

Yesterday was very quiet. I was able to watch a couple of movies and work on some projects. The house is clean and I should have done laundry but didn't want to. I'll have to today and tomorrow.

Today is kid day again. I'm driving there and picking up Miss M. I think there's only a couple of weeks left and the play will be done and the grands will be walking home every day. Hope so for sure.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Another beautiful day here but tomorrow is 100% rain. The weatherman said we are all going to get wet! So if not too bad, Norm and I will use the day to go see a movie.

Yesterday, one of the ladies wanted to go across the ferry to the island and invited me to go with her so she wasn't alone. So off we went! We went in several souvenir stores. I bought a necklace and earrings. They had bling T-shirts for $19.99 but if you bought one, you got one free! I didn't need another T-shirt but we each picked out our favorite and split the cost. A nice bling T-shirt for $10. I couldn't say NO.

Judy - I hate to be in the MH when it's windy. It is not good for high profile vehicles. So be very careful!

PJ - your critters are so cute. Your talents know no limits!

PJ love the critters!

It's back to work today. Saturday was so long. Left at 4 a.m. and got home around 8:30 p.m. The wind in the morning was terrible and the bus I was driving was all over the road, good thing that early in the morning there is no traffic. The last couple of days I goofed off. Now I will have to pay for that, LOL.

Time to get moving, y'all take care.

Hello Seesters!
Just getting on SP as I am busy on Monday's and Wednesday's with my Exercise & Yoga class. Today we walked 2 miles and 30 minutes of Chair Yoga. So I have m exercise in for today!

I am waiting for Norm to finish his woodcarving class before I decide what we are doing the rest of the day.

Yesterday was busy from football games, corn hole tournaments, and the Chili or Chowder Cook Off. Norm's did not win but I suspect we will have Chili for lunch today. Then I will put the rest in individual containers and freeze. We had 9 huge pots of chili and 5 huge pots of chowder so everyone took home leftovers. Those that did not participate in the Cook Off brought dishes for the pot luck after. Lots of cornbread! And several desserts!

Saturday we went to the Rockport Market Days (a large outdoor flea market) with our friends and then out for lunch.

One of our friends that stayed here last year, stopped in and stayed overnight before heading on to Harlingen for the rest of the winter. Harlingen is further south in the Rio Grande Valley. It was nice to see and visit with them. They got a Pomsky puppie which is a cross between a Pomperian and Siberian Husky. It is beautiful, all white and about 10 lbs. It's only 10 months old so it will grow a couple more pounds.

WG - your celebration of the Chinese New Year sounds fun. With the party over, now you can enjoy a quiet day. I'm glad you are feeling back to yourself again!

Hi Seesters. Another Monday. I have a quiet home because it is a holiday. It is nice for sure.

Dinner last night was Chinese New Year as the kids will be gone next weekend. It was fun. One DIL brought Ramen noodles so the kids could eat something. They were good about that.

We had some delicious food and it was fun. I even had a lot of veggies. Unfortunately, I've been eating more than I want to so I've got to get back on track. I made some cauliflower fried rice I'll eat for lunch today. I'm excited to be myself again. Maybe being hungry had more to do with eating too much.

Hope all are having a good day.

Hi Seesters. It snowed last night. There was a fuss about starting school late and commuters were allowed to show up late. DIL was supposed to go to school for end of term grades. She had an accident two years ago this weekend and totaled her car. She is a little leery of snow storms and the date. She was allowed to go early as well.

Got 6 grands here and it has been more peaceful than usual. The cousins entertain each other so it is fun. And I have Disney + so the kids are watching something on that. I think two of them will go home soon and the others later today as their dad was in court all week and has been working late.

Their other mom came and got them last night. We had a fun text "chat" after she got home. She gets frustrated with the kids and likes to know it isn't her but the kids who are being dumb. There are a lot of little things she really didn't encounter before in her life. Her niece and nephews are a bit better as children as the families are smaller and parents more helicopter. These kids were left to their own devices a lot. And their mom's family did a lot of interesting things like having belch contests at the table and drinking out of milk cartons. There is no way to be prepared for some of that.

PJ, I wonder if it is just an age thing, this sleeping thing. I used to be able to sleep in all morning if I felt like I needed it. Now I'm waking at 4-5 most days even if I didn't get to bed early enough to be happy. I did well with it for a while but since Christmas have been crashing earlier in the day.

SS, I agree about going to a different store. I have two WMs within 15 minutes of my house. I usally go to the one closest but the other one is much nicer. Better town and clientele as well as newer. I have got some good deals there.

Tonight will probably be the two 5 year olds as they need to have a sleepover before I have someone else. I am trying to have someone every week or so. I know my kids loved their time with my mom. Their other grandmother was older and not well for many of them's childhood so they couldn't have fun. It has been fun for these to spend some time together and make memories.

Have a great day. I'm off to grandmother again.

We got rain this morning. I was in shorts yesterday afternoon now back to fall clothes. He doesn't have much to do he does get his magazines when our mail is sent to us once he has those read he plays computer games and watches and drives me crazy LOL As for me I can keep busy with my yarn and reading.

Sounds like our yucky weather here is to last a few days.. They really needed the rain here and it has been warmer than last year so far.

Morning!

We are having another beautiful day but we are told that come Monday we have a cold front moving in which will drop our high temps into the 50's and 50% chance of rain. Then we should get back to the 70's once again.

This Sunday is our Chili and Chowder Cook Off so we need to run to the grocery store to get the ingredients for Norm's chili. I think we'll go down the road to Aransas Pass as their store is a bigger WalMart and to be honest, as often as we shop at WM, it's some times nice to go to a different store!

PJ - Norm just came in the MH and said it's time to change his jeans for shorts! That doesn't happen very often. It's always breezy here but I'm getting used to that. What does Frank do on the days it is too windy to fish?

Another windy non fishing day. Sounds like there is a chance of rain all next week. We did go to the Flea Mkt yesterday. I got all the vanilla that family ordered, found a couple of small kitchen gadgets as well as a long sleeve denim (only $5). So it was a successful day for us.

Got my walk in the last 2 mornings back on track again after taking about 4 days off from walking. Not sleeping well about every 3-4 nights I seem to get a decent nights sleep. I've tried to figure on why and what I can do but not very successful I do know I have to have a cool bedroom so the A/C is on and DH just throws on the blanket. Melatonin seemed to help for awhile but not much anymore and I really don't want to go to higher dosage as it would probably do the same thing wants my body adjusted or make me too groggy to function.

Spent the morning walking, doing my Sts, cutting up veggies and roasting some split brussel sprouts. (which I love DH hates and doesn't like the smell at all. Oh well he'll survive.

WG so glad to hear you are feeling better sleep make a world of difference. Good to hear the new family is in counseling. It should help all of them to adjust. They have been through a lot and the ready mother has a lot of adjusting to do too.

LG I'm with SS that lifting bolts of fabric would be a substitute for Sts I'm sure.

SS that sounds like a good plan to split your winter up. I'm sure Casey and family would love it if you spent the holiday with them.

Good Morning!
Norm has woodcarving this morning so I am by myself until noon! Nala and I enjoy our mornings together.

I did not win at Bingo last night but it was expected so I was fine with that.

If we want to come back to this same park, this same site, we need to book it by 2/15. After that, anyone can book our site. I think we will rebook our site for next year but we still haven't decided what we want to do. We have tossed around the idea of going to the Gulf Shore area. That's only 4 hrs from Casey's new home. We could stay there for Nov & Dec. Leave the RV there and run up to Casey's for Christmas. Then come back, pack up the RV and head to TX. We are still in the planning stages but it's a definite possibility. We haven't mentioned it to anyone, especially not Casey. We need to make a decision and book before we tell them. They were especially lonely their first Christmas in GA so I know they would be so excited.

LG - I think lifting all that fabric constitutes as strength training for sure!

WG - I am glad ou are feeling better. As a grandma, it's not good to feel yucky as you are the primary caretaker for several grand kids! I am glad the new family is going to counceling. It is quite the adjustment, not only for the kids but for the new mother as well. I really think the age is a big factor with the middle ones. I remember when our DD remarried, my GD was such a brat. And when DD got gregnant, she was impossible to live with. I'll never forget what a brat she was at the baby shower. Even so, DD insisted she be the first one to see and hold her new brother. Once they placed the baby in her arms, she was smitten. To this day, she is Tucker's second mother. They have a very special relationship!

HI Seesters. I've got Enterprise here now. He's excited to have books to read. He just started today with ones sent home from school. It's interesting to see the grands reading.

I am so glad to feel human again and sleep was the ticket. I did get a bit done since I couldn't stay still or I would be asleep. I did stay up long enough to watch the Jeopardy game. It was fun.

Judy, have fun driving.

Sharon, glad you got in the extra exercise. Hope you catch up with sleep as well.

Have a great day. I'm going to take a break before the grands come home. Their parents are going to counseling to help them cope and support each other in the transitioning of the family. They will bring the kids in later. Surprisingly, the oldest, a 14 year old boy is doing the best of all and Miss M who needs a mother so she is loving having that support. The middle ones are being awful and giving her a lot of trouble. But they gave me a bit as well. Might just be personality, but it won't hurt to get help.

Good Afternoon!

I had my biggest group for exercise this morning. Plus, some stayed to do Chair Yoga - the first time this season. I am finally getting more participation which makes me happy.

Our weather is very overcast but close to 80. The fog has lifted so that is good.

Norm has really bonded with two other men here. They both do woodcarving. This morning he tapped me on the shoulder while I was doing yoga to let me know the three of them were going away. He said he might be an hour or three. Well, it's been almost 4 hours and they still aren't back. I'm assuming they are eating so I went ahead and heated up a Smart One dinner that I keep in the freezer for just such an occassion.

Tonight is Bingo. I'm pretty sure I won't win again tonight but I'll try!

SEK - I agree and I'm OK with Norm at the clubhouse watching the game. But like you said, the darn game is dragged out way too long!

WG - the older I get, the less I like to drive in any conditions. And I don't like driving in areas I'm not familiar with after dark. AND, I refuse to drive after dark if it is raining. So, needless to say, I haven't went anywhere the last couple of days.

One of my friends here in the park used her swiffer to clean the windows outside of their RV. She put a microfiber cloth on and sprayed it with a mixture of vinegar and water. No streaks and they loos really good. I am going to try it when we have another sunny day.

WG yes I get paid while I wait, I don't think anyone would take a trip if they didn't get paid. Usually I read or visit with other drivers it just depends. If there is internet I take clean up emails and other computer stuff.

SS I would be glad they are watching sports somewhere else. Thankfully we are not a sports family. I don't mind sports if they would just play and get it over with, but taking a game that should only be an hour and turning into 8 is ridiculous.

Need to head to the bus, y'all take care.

Hi Seesters. I'm hungry and it's almost time for lunch but I'm working on "will over hunger" and waiting a few extra minutes to prove it. Silly me. I have been clock watching lately and that isn't good at all.

Of course I've lost a bit of weight which helps me be hungrier but I am working at that. I still need to lose 8 pounds this month so I've got my work cut out for me. I might settle for 5. Being hungry makes me munch so it doesn't help. Anyway, I've got my mind made up. I'll also have a good lunch and feel full afterward.

Judy, have fun at the wrestling match. It sounds like fun. A late night isn't cool, though. What do you do when you are waiting? Hopefully you are paid for the full day and not just the driving time.

LG, I'm glad you had a great anniversary. I love that you are such a cute couple and spend so much time together.

SS, I am not a fog person but it can be fun. I do hate driving in it. I remember going home through the mountains with the fog so thick that I had to look carefully at the line on the side of the road to stay safe. That is much better than white out snow when you can't even see the line but have to follow the tracks of the car in front of you. The game was pretty good, I understand. I'm sure the men enjoyed it.

Have fun with your lunch out.

PJ, it sounds like something I'd enjoy. Reading, knitting and taking walks every day. I can see why you enjoy that. What are you knitting? More socks or something else?

I've been dragging for more than a week. It has been hard. I apparently needed more rest than I was getting. A week ago I had to cancel an appointment because I felt rotten and it wasn't the cold. This last weekend I took two naps both days and still went to bed early. I napped yesterday and went to bed early yesterday and work at 2 am so apparently I feel better.. I counted 6-8 hours of sleep yesterday afternoon and evening so I'm sure I'm fine. It will be a long day.

I am hoping that I'll stay awake for the Jeopardy tournament but I also want to watch "This is Us." Not sure what will win.

At least I'm apparently doing better. Cleaned out part of the closet so I can put shelves in. Whoever made my house (some guy named Sheldon) wasn't very particular about things like the size of the walk in closet. The door rubs the clothes behind it and I don't need a full walk in closet for my clothes so I'm putting in shelves up on the part that rubs clothes. I can put boxes with storage of clothes or whatever so I can have life more orderly.

Laundry is almost done and I'll be much happier. I hope that this will work out well for me.

Have a great day.

Not a lot going on here for us. Frank fishing when it isn't foggy. I did my rec hall duty today and laundry at the same time.

I have been walking, STs for my arms and knitting, crocheting and reading It seems as though it has been warmer this year in Texas at least so far.

We did go to the Valley on Friday to do some shopping and buy a dozen tamales. Still have some left in the freezer.

We are discussing going to Don Wes flea mkt maybe this coming Saturday and the last week of January taking a couple of nights and driving somewhere in our truck S Padre or maybe Corpus Cristi area.

This large screen projection TV in the clubhouse has created monsters out of our men! Norm was up there watching the game until after 11pm! We go to bed at 10pm so Nala wouldn't settle down until Norm arrived. This morning Nala is taking a really long morning nap!

Today is our Ladies Tea at 1pm. Sound be a fun afternoon and we don't have to worry about our men as they have their Men's Lunch Out today! Keeping us all busy!

The temps are still high (73 at 9am) so the fog is still here. A very heavy fog that almost feels like a mist but not quite. I did take Nala for a walk before she went back to sleep.

Glad to see the new year has people busy and feeling good.

Today and tomorrow I work in the high school kitchen, a trip Thursday and then a big trip on Saturday, leaving at 4 a.m. and don't know when we will be back. It's wrestling and sometimes we get back mid afternoon and sometimes it late at night, I'm praying for afternoon.

Not much else going on, y'all take care.

Good Evening!

Another day almost gone! I stayed busy all day. Exercise class this morning. Then Norm and I went to WM for meds and some groceries. This afternoon I caught up on bill paying and such.

It has been extremely foggy today. Very little visablity. Temps were warm so it is what it is. Not much activity in the park. Everyone stayed inside.

We have a huge projection TV at the clubhouse so yesterday Norm spent most of the afternoon and evening watching football with the guys. I have no interest so I stayed here and watched a movie, The Bucket List. I cried the last 15 minutes of the movie. Nala was concerned and wouldn't leave me for the rest of the evening. She truly thought something was wrong.

Pat - I guess you don't need gifts but 50 years is truly an accomplishment in today's world where everyone is quick to give up on a marriage if they aren't happy. So sad as they will never understand the feeling of spending most of your life with the same person. Congratulations to both you and Thomas Jay!

We have been very busy with cleaning out the house! Got all the Christmas decorations put away and took 2 garbage bags to SVDP. Then we tackled a closet. WOW! Wore me out. Moved furniture in our living room and did some baking.

Friday was our 50th anniversary but we just went out to one of our favorite steakhouses. Nothing fancy. No gifts either. We already have all we need!

Tammy, Iím reading a book I think youíd like. Itís ďResistance WomenĒ by Jennifer Chiaverini. Very good so far. A WWII book set in Germany.

WG, I think we are all like that at times! There are days Iíd just as soon not speak at all!

Like has one more game this Saturday then we can breathe a sigh of relief!

Brooke has gone back to school and she is happy to be back.

Tomorrow is back to work.....

HI Seesters. It looks like many of us will have a stormy weekend. That is strange when we live so many miles apart. It's snowing here and is supposed to continue through Monday. I have an appointment on Monday but other than that will probably stay hunkered down the rest of the time.

Tammy, I had to chuckle about your vanilla vodka. I hope the weather isn't as bad as it has been forecast. It sounded like you and SEK were in the middle of some bad winter weather.

I think that I have more things to be discouraged about than I did when I was younger. Right now I'm doing a bit better but when the kids were here every day and I didn't get any breaks and there was stuff going on at work it was pretty bad. Even now there are days I don't want to talk to anyone. And there are times I think about calling the kids and telling them I'm taking the week off and not talking to anyone. Add in a few health problems and I don't like much of anything some days.

SEK, that's a lot of snow. I'm impressed.

SS, I think I'd miss the space as well although I don't need nearly as much as I think I do. Glad the winds weren't all that awful. I hope the storms are done there for a while.

LG, have fun at your games again today. I hope you are doing well.

Gonna go and get some lunch. Have a great day.

Morning!

We survived our windy night with no damage to the MH. Our bench blew over and our laundry wagon blew into the next site but it could have been worse. The small palm tree down by the laundry was ripped out of the ground so the whole park is sad about that.

We went to the clubhouse for breakfast and just returned. Norm is going with our neighbor to a man's kind of place (junk stuff), called the Busted Pot. They give you a complimentary marguerita or a beer.

Judy - The two things I miss living in our MH is my bath tub and my own laundry room. So I envy you being able to do laundry and still make chili at the same time.

I made WW's Zero Point Taco Soup this week so I'll be eating that at my last meal this week. It is good so I'm looking forward to it.

Tammy I know what you mean. The first time I went in a liquor store I felt like I was walking into a house of ill repute and hoped I wouldn't see anyone I knew.

Winter has arrived, came in last night on my way home from basketball, and now it's really here. Won't last long supposed to be almost 50 tomorrow and then close to 60 the next couple days after that.

I'm working on laundry, have a pot of chili going, so my work is done. Y'all take care.

Hi, Seesters!

It will be back to work for me on Monday. I will only be there on Mondays and Wednesdays, so that is easier with my life. I spent a couple of days at the campus this week getting electronic "stuff" ready.

We have one of those weather forecasts where we get a bit of a bunch of stuff this next 36 hours. The morning was quite nice, and the heavy rain hasn't started as soon as it was supposed to. KS, OK, and SW MO have tornado watches out for some counties right now, and then they are saying freezing precipitation tomorrow.

Something I've been wondering, and I feel "safe" asking it here - as I age, I am having a harder time remaining positive. I never used to need to remind myself of my blessings. I'm aware that I have many of them, but I have had a lot of times that I just have to mentally shake myself to remind myself to look for the good. It doesn't seem that it should be so hard, or perhaps I was exceptionally lucky before the past few years. I guess my question is "is this a usual thing as one ages?"

I've been making my own vanilla for a few years now. I still have part of the bottle of vodka. I was raised in a nondrinking environment and did kind of hope that no one I knew would see me buying it. Lol I used to need to shut down high school students' conversations about seeing school employees' grocery carts with alcohol in them, so I guess it is pretty ingrained. Lol - I have also heard that rum is good to use instead of vodka and I think I might like that. I'd probably not have part of a bottle left, once I kept an eagle eye out in the store. 😂

Hi Seesters. It's cloudy and gloomy but no snow yet. It is going to snow more through the week and into the weekend. Fortunately I don't need to go out much after tomorrow.

SS, I'd throw you in the pool as well. I am so glad you enjoy yourself and make friends everywhere.

I'm going to make some soup today. I'm not sure if it will be tomato or squash, but it will be fun.

Have a great day.

We ended up with some rain around 5am but it was done by the time I crawled out of bed. It is pretty breezy and tomorrow will be wind gust up to 40mph but it will be in the low 80's. It is supposed to rain again at night. That is nice that it rains when we are sleeping and is over by morning!

I was the big winner at Bingo last night. I won 3 games of $12 each! They threatened to throw me in the pool if I won again.

SS the weather has been great here but supposed to turn nasty starting today, maybe, for sure tomorrow and then worse Saturday. It is winter but sure have been spoiled the last few weeks with spring like temps. Oh well nothing lasts forever. Darn it!

Exercise is over so it's off to the shower and then work.

Hi!
Just a quick check in fir today. I have kept busy all day. Six ladies showed up for exercise this morning so I was happy with that.

I did some shopping this afternoon for a couple things other than groceries and now we are about to go to the clubhouse for our weekly Bingo.

The weather was great today but tomorrow it is supposed to be rainy, windy and much cooler. I have a new book to read so I am all set to be shut in for a day or two.

HI Seesters. Finally feel human again. Caught a bug from someone (nameless person) and have been working it out. Have Enterprise here today and the regulars will be here as well.

Snowing today and much of the week. I'm OK with that as it seems like we always need more water.

SEK, you are certainly busy this week. I'm glad you have work opportunities. I think sometimes managers think they really don't have to work as their jobs are secure.

The vanilla making is fun. My daughter bought the vodka. Since we are non drinkers, it was an experience for her to do this. My son brought the vanilla beans and bottles and we opened the beans and put them in the bottles and filled it with vodka. Shake daily for a month then occasionally. It turns dark and flavorful over time. Year old vanilla tastes much better than younger vanilla, but it can be used as early as six months. I certainly enjoy mine. We had a fun hour or so making it as well.

SS, sounds like you are having fun again with the warm weather. I am glad you found some collagen cream. It is good to have an outing.

I worked on my blanket a while yesterday. I got discouraged as I had dropped a stitch and had to tear out some. I knitted it a while ago but since the yarn is so big, I took it apart and sewed the ends of yarn together. It makes a much smoother blanket and I enjoy it a lot more. Now to get it done. It is nearly so so it should make it today.

Have a great day. I'm going to get some lunch.

It's back to work all right! Got called to work at the high school, just got lunch going there and they came and told me I needed to go to one of the elementary schools, so I finished lunch there. When I got back to the high school they said it looks like you can work all week if I want to. The boss said, " you will be working for me Friday cause I think I need to go to Tulsa and shop." Ha, Ha! None of us understand why people have jobs and then don't seem to want them. The other thing by missing today they lost all their holiday pay. They will be crying come payday.

The up side is the weather is good.

Good Morning! We have another beautiful sunny day in the low 70's on tap for today! Don't know what we'll do today. Norm is going to grill a pork steak on his grill so I'll make something to go with it.

Yesterday we drove into CC and went to a Texas Roadhouse for dinner. It was delicious! Then we drove to Mustang Island and went to the largest souvenir store and poked around there for awhile.

I am in the picture if you look close.
We also find the Burlington store as I needed more of my Collagen cream. I think it is helping so wanted more!
We took the ferry back to the mainland and came on home. It was a fun afternoon. It was the most perfect day of weather!

HI Seesters. I'm getting ready to head out to the store. Soup tomorrow and I want to make tortellini soup but will probably make chicken noodle.

PJ,, laundry while manning the clubhouse sounds good. I'm glad you know how to get things done. We made our own vanilla this year but I enjoy Mexican vanilla as well. It is all expensive, but good.

LG, glad you are back to work. I hope you enjoy the die. It sounds fun. A Christmas tree wall hanging or table topper? Enjoy the ball game.

SEK, it is nice to have the routine again, but vacations are never long enough. I hope you have fun this week at school

SS, have fun on your outing. Glad you are feeling better.

I've got to clean a bit since the grands were here yesterday. The Dinosaur clogged the downstairs toilet. I messaged his dad to come with the kid and fix it. It seems harsh but it is a chronic thing and the kid needs to know it is his problem.

Other than that, it is business as usual. Have a great day.

Looks like everyone is getting back into their routines since the holidays.

I'll be back to work Monday and the kitchen has already called needing help a couple days next week. I don't know why people have jobs if they are not going to show up.

Laundry is beeping at me so I better go.

Yes, Iím still kicking! Happy 2020!

Itís been crazy here. Lots of things to do. Thomas & I have been cleaning out! Got rid of lots of old Christmas decor that I havenít used in ages and rearranged closets!

NYE we went to bed at 10! We arenít too big on parties. I went back to work yesterday and we were busy with customers and taking down decorations at the store. We are spot checking inventory as our computer system does that for us.

Lots of new fabrics have come in and I got a die for my AccuQuilt cutter. It is a feather die but Iím going to make a Christmas tree using that die! I think itíll be fun.

Luke has a game tomorrow in Indianapolis. Since it is a morning game we plan to go.

Read all the posts...glad everyone is doing well.

Hi Seesters. It is back to normal as the grands are here again today. They stayed home last week but started coming back this week. We are going to bake banana bread today. The Dinosaur loves the mini loaves and eats his without cutting it. It bothers me but I'll live. They are sometimes savages but I'll have to live with it and let their parents figure it out. They ate an entire box of cereal when they got here and it was after 10 am. They were "hungry."

Wednesday I woke with a stuffy head and cough. I drugged up, drank extra and rested. I repeated again yesterday. I'm doing better but the cough is going to linger a few days. It appears to be part of the illness my generous grandchildren shared with me.

I've got to fix Princess P's coat today so she can take it home. I have plenty to do today so I'll be fine. I'm hoping for an earlier night tonight so I can have a leisurely dinner and go to bed early. I have been waking earlier again this week which I like more than sleeping in but I'm grateful either way that there is no time clock to punch.

Have a great day.

Good Morning!

Two days in a row for feeling better. I think I am over this crap!

Our sun is back and it is warming up nicely so that alone lifts my spirits.

I am up at the laundry room catching up on laundry. A little later at 1pm, they are asking for volunteers to take the Christmas decorations down. They are serving the volunteers hot turkey sandwiches when we are done.

My friend in rehab is not doing well. They have to keep draining fluid out of her chest cavity. She still has the stent in but I don't know why as the stone is too big to pass through it. Larry said she has to stay in rehab until Tues for Medicare to pay. When released she goes to her Dr. They feel so defeated. I pray she will get relief soon.

SS sorry to hear you are still not 100%.

It looks like winter here today but it's not supposed to do anything, we shall see.

Hello Seesters!
Well, it rained all day yesterday! Norm wanted to go out for dinner and the only restaurant open was the China A. So we went to the buffet. I figured it was a good day as today I am back on my WW's and it's horrible to count points when eating at a buffet.

Yesterday was not a good day for me. When we came back from the restaurant, I went to bed and slept for a few hours. I am so tired of the fatigue and being miserable. Actually, this morning I feel better than I have in six weeks. So I am back to being cautiously optimistic that I am finally getting better.

It is still overcast and spitting rain yet. The front is supposed to move out later today and improve over the next few days.

Looks like 2020 is off to a good start. The weather here is good and I guess January is supposed to be warmer than normal. That's fine by me. There may be some rain later, but not a good chance.

All the Christmas is put away and everything cleaned. The house looks a little empty but back to normal.

PJ sounds like you found a job with the Rec Center, but it'll be good to have it open a few hours a day.

Better get moving, Joshua will be home soon from work and he's always starving.

Happy New Year Seesters. It was pretty low key for me. There were 4 kids and 13 grands for our "party" but another family showed up at the end and still another came later. It was fun to see almost everyone.

The last hold out was watching a bowl game where their alma mater played in a bowl game but lost badly so she said they should have come here.

I did get to hold the newest for a few minutes but it was dinner time and I was fixing things so I didn't get much time. I'm glad this morning as I have a tickle and feel a cold coming on. I'm going to take some more stuff and settle down and sew a bit.

Snowing here. Expecting somewhere near a foot of snow today. Fortunately it was not stormy last night. It's a good day to stay inside and binge watch or read a book. Have a great day.

I went over and helped 3 other women get some of the things set up to open the rec hall. Still no activities planned except potluck on Thursday nights starting next week. We campers are volunteering to take turns having the rec hall open M-F 9-1. So that way it will at least be open a few hours.

I did get my fitbit fixed (I think) on line chatted with them for quite awhile yesterday. I had pretty much done everything they suggested several times before contacting them. But one thing I ended up setting it up a new replacement and that seems to have fixed everything. I say with my fingers crossed.

We don't have any plans for tonight except grilling out our dinner. We are trying something new (hoping I don't make any of you sick) we are going to grill beef heart. We have venison heart but have never done or found beef heart before. Also found the Chayote Squash yesterday so I bought 2 of them.

Wishing you all a very happy New Year.

Good Morning!

Well, here it is the last day of 2019! The last day of the year and decade. It seems like it was just last year, everyone was worried about the Y2k Bug in 2000! The years do fly by.

We have a NYE party at the clubhouse this evening. They are playing some games then at 10pm, there will be music and dancing along with hats and noisemakers. We will go and make a show but we are not interested in the music and dancing. Norm can't dance with his hip. Plus, we are not drinkers and the closer to midnight, the more the drinks flow. So, I'm pretty sure we will be home in bed by midnight.

My neighbor lady is still in rehab. Turns out she has another kidney stone so she may have to go back to the hospital. It's a mess and not getting better. Her DH is already talking to an attorney about their rights. I don't want to go into detail but let's say the hospital has been negligent. My heart goes out to her. With having sepsis, she has been so close to dying, I pray she gets through this.

Tammy - I am glad you enjoyed your break and got to spend some quality time with GS. Going to Branson tomorrow sounds like fun. Do you meet at a nice restaurant and enjoy a meal together?

WG - I am cautiously optimistic that I am on the mend! I have finished up the prednisone so now will be the real test. At least now when I cough, it is productive instead of just spasms!
What will you be doing for NYE or New Years Day?

Hi, Seesters!

Good to see you, Becky! I will need to have cataract surgery in the next few years, but the eye dr was telling me that in he next few years that there will be a new procedure...I hope, as I, too, am quite nervous about anything to do with my eyes!

I've had a pretty decent break; next week I will need to make sure all is up to speed for the online portion. I am teaching a class that I haven't taught in a few years, so that will take a bit of extra prep. Hopefully, all three classes make. They are never guaranteed for adjuncts if they don't have a minimum of 10. Two of my three are sitting at 7 right now.

We're going into Springfield today to go to Hobby Lobby and maybe for lunch after an early morning hair appointment for me. I needed it badly last week, but rescheduled when I had GS duty. It was a fun week for me.

The plan at Thanksgiving was for us to go to Branson tomorrow to meet oldest SD and SIL for a few hours. I need to check that is still "on."

I wanted to give a shout out for Jennifer Chiaverini's new Elm Creek quilts novel. I read it a couple of weeks ago. It had been some years since she had done one in that series.

Hi Seesters. I'm finally caught up on sleep. It is nice to not be too tired.

Sharon, glad you are feeling some better. Hopefully you will continue to recover. Your banana bars sound good as does your chicken noodle soup. I'm glad you are moving again. Being sick isn't fun.

Becky, at some age it seems like we all need our cataracts taken care of. For many of us, our vision improves. They do the laser treatment here and it has a short recovery and good results. I'll need it sooner or later. You can talk to your doctors but they are usually doing one eye at a time a few weeks apart. I'm sure you will be having fun.

I have no idea where my son was except it was on the coast. He did have a great time.

PJ, glad you are having fun and not missing your home. I hope your MIL does well and improves. It is hard to have family ill when you are gone.

Off to get some lunch. Have a great day.

Morning!

I just got home from my exercise class. No one new but I think the new people are just settling in. Hopefully, by next week we will have more. I also took Nala for her walk when I got done so I'm walked out for now!

Becky - I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I hope you are comfortable with the decisions made about cataract surgery. Eye surgery scares me! My vision is so important to me.
A few years ago, when I was anemic, the dr gave me B-12 shots. I actually brought it up as I feel so fatigued. She said since you can buy OTC B-12 sublingual tablets that work well, they don't do the shots as often. She just said make sure to get the tabs that you melt under your tongue. And yes, they do make a difference.

Judy - I love my retired life and the slow pace. I only do what I want. Your day will come soon enough.
We love the Branson area as well. I loved the Sight N Sound theatre of Samson. Next summer they are bringing Noah back. I told Norm I would consider going down for a long weekend just to see that show!

We are enjoying a beautiful day - sunny and mid 70's again today. Loving our weather this year. It sure beats last years!

I really thought once school got out for Christmas I'd have more time to be here, my children tell me I should stop thinking.

Nothing much new here, weather has been wonderful, it's windy and cooler today, but it is winter.

I bought a Branson Vacation pkg. for Joshua and I to do sometime next year. I saw some of you talking about a coupon book, where did you get those? He really wants to see the area more, so have to find a date that fits both of our schedules.

Need to get moving. Y'all take care.

WG, how fun that your son and wife honeymooned here. Do you know where they stayed? I had two sets of visitors come down this year and we found some wonderful "off the beaten track" places to take them. We really enjoy hiking so it was more rain forest hiking than beaches. I actually met a mother and daughter pair who came down at Easter here on SP and we've become good friends. It was their second trip down.

Pat, good for you for staying on course over the holidays. Not an easy feat. I strayed quite a bit but am meandering back in the right direction again. Our gym was closed and it has rained nonstop so I haven't been able to go workout or walk, And exercise is what keeps me from stress eating. Too many holiday treats around!!

Sharon, I'm glad you are finally feeling better. It's interesting that your doctor told you to take vitamin B12. for fatigue. I just finished taking a series of B12 shots. I run really low on B12. I definitely notice a difference after the shots.

PJ, I hope you get your fitbit problem fixed. I use mine for steps but also for sleep. I have a problem with insomnia and like to keep track of how I sleep. Sometimes it's stressful to see the numbers though.

It looks like I have to have cataract surgery soon. Our school year starts in February and I need to be recovered before going back to work. I have an appointment in a private clinic in San Josť on the 7th for an evaluation. (That's part of the reason behind my stress eating emoticon ).

Well, I don't hear it raining right now. I'm going to see if I can get a walk in today!!!

I had a good day today and feel better than I did. The dr suggested I take a sublinqual B-12 tablet to help with the fatigue. It seems to help. I did more cleaning and cooking today. I used my over ripe bananas to make banana bars for NYE. They have chocolate chips, coconut and walnuts. They sure smelled good baking.

I also made a WW's Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup in my crockpot. Norm enjoyed it and even ate a second bowl.

PJ - our park is filling up fast. I wonder how many will show up at my exercise class tomorrow. It sounds like you are enjoying your stay so far.

Its been quiet here. I've been walking and knitting and crocheting and reading when I do laundry. A few more people are now coming in so it is getting busier.

They don't have any one again this year to open the rec hall (at least not yet). So no activities but frankly there usually isn't anything except the Thursday night potlucks (if and when they start)

I have been having issues with my fitbit it isn't syncing anymore at all the last time it synced was 12/20. I have done everything I know to do uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times, reset my Alta HR several times. Turned off and on bluetooth severaltimes, shutdown cell phone several times. I guess I will call them tomorrow I don't hold out much hope that they will help. I googled and didn't find any help other than what I have already tried. My Alta HR still tracks my steps (it seems to work ok) just hate not being able to get it synced and it won't track my trail walks as exercise through my cell phone.

We found out that Frank's mom went to the doctor and almost had pheumonia and she goes back Monday. It is pretty scary as we have noticed her going downhill the last year. She is 89.

We have our first day hike on Wednesday and then we will fix our normal shrimp grilled with cooked cabbage and black eyed peas that day also.

Frank did catch some crappie on Friday so we had a fried fish yesterday.

Hi Seesters!

After the breathing treatment, I felt so much better but that has worn off and I can tell the difference. Last night I only got 6 1/2 hrs sleep. More coughing. I seem to do better with the prednisone but last time I had to start with 4 a day, then 3 a day, then 2 a day and down to 1 a day. This time it's different and I take 2 tabs in the morning for 5 days. I just hope they do the trick this time. I am still on an inhaler and the cough medicine with codeine. I feel better so I am cautiously optimistic. I will be more aware and go back if I start getting worse again, much sooner.

The celebrating is over and the park is starting to fill up with people that stayed home until after Christmas. They expect many more in by Jan 1st. At Christmas we were only half full but by mid January, the park is going to be full.

We did go to our Breakfast in the Clubhouse this morning. We had scrambled eggs, sausage patty's, lots of fruit and biscuit/gravy. It was very good.

I am pretty tired of staying in the MH. The weather was so nice that I went and sat outside with one of our neighbors and visited. It helped. I also stripped the bed and washed not only bedding but blankets and mattress pad. I just want to get any germs washed out. They assure me bronchitis is not contagious but it just feels better to have everything fresh and clean. I'm looking forward to jumping in my nice clean bed with nice clean jammies!

Hi Seesters. It is quiet here and I just got home from the last "family event" for a few days. It was fine and there were quite a few of us. DIL's family is much smaller with 3 adult children and one other grandchild. It was nice to see them again. Now time to go home.

I did not partake of the donuts and chocolate milk and it was fine.

Now I'm running on fumes. I got 2 hours of sleep last night because I took a nap in the late afternoon. I don't dare nap today for fear I won't sleep again tonight. I'll try to tough it out.

LG, glad you had a good visit. It is always nice to get things back to normal. I'm sure you will enjoy a few days break before returning to work again.

SS, glad you got some sleep. I'm sure it helps you heal. Hopefully you will mend now. The steroids will help reduce the inflammation and you should get better.

Becky, how are things in your neck of the woods?

Got to get moving. Being still too long is not cool. Won't be doing anything that takes brains, though, so it is a cleaning day.

Have a good one.

Sharon, hope you are on the mend. You have been fighting with this for a while. Sorry, Christmas wasnít quite what you hoped for.

WG, I do enjoy working for Sharynn. Sheís a great ďbossĒ!

Becky, good to hear from you!

We had a very good Christmas. Kids all left yesterday afternoon. The house was very quiet! But I must admit, thatís ok!

I was very careful what I ate so hoping for a loss. I really think that the step aerobics is taking inches off. Will measure on Saturday. But I can see a difference!

The weather here has been very unusual! It was 69 on Christmas Day!

I was able to get 10 hours sleep last night with only one bad coughing spasm. Just one good night sleep has helped but I am taking it easy so my body can heal.

WG - it was a long wait but I was OK until my phone battery died. By then I felt comfortable chatting with a few other people waiting. I found three others were there with similar symptoms. I especially enjoyed my conversation with a man from Greece. It didn't take me long to find out he was there for with his older sister who was sick. He also talked about the hurricane and the damage to his home and boat. He said we call them yacht, three levels with 2 staterooms. Obviously very wealthy but very down to earth. He helped pass the hours. You know I enjoy talking with most anyone!

I am glad you enjoyed your family and it sounds like you could eat without stuffing yourself so that's. a win/win situation .

HI Seesters. It is finally quiet here and I'm enjoying a nice moment.

Becky, it is good to hear from you again. My son and bride honeymooned in Costa Rica in September. It was fun for them and they had great memories. They got a stuffed sloth and had it do all the activities with them as they sent pictures back to the kids. It was a fun idea and the kids got to see them having fun.

SS, I hope this is the good medication. Your last bout seemed to be doing better before you took a turn. Now to hope you can sleep and get better. I hope you got to read a book or something while you were in the clinic. That is a long time to do nothing but sit. I'm glad Norm got to teach his class while you were there.

LG, I noticed that Sharyn is closed until the new year. What a great boss for you. She closes unless she is there. It was good for Thanksgiving also. I hope you are still enjoying working for her

I hope our other Seesters are doing well today and having fun. I'm cleaning up from yesterday although the kids are pretty good about cleaning up after themselves. We are finished with the hard holiday. A family event tomorrow. DIL is a bit prickly. I didn't see the baby from the day he was born in October until last night although they have been to other kids homes and my ex has seen the baby since then. It was frustrating but it is what it is and she will deal or not but I can't change it.

Have a great day.

Sharon, it sounds like a long hard day. I guess it's better to have acute bronquitis than the flu. With the right medications you should get well soon. I hope you do get the good night's rest that the doctor promised you. Take care of yourself!!

Becky - it was a long day for me. That 2 hr wait turned in to 3 1/2 hr just to get in a room and then another 1/2 wait for the dr. The Urgent Care was so busy and only one dr so I'm not complaining as she was doing the best she could. She did a breathing treatment on me and she said my lungs sounded good but she sent me for a chest x-ray to be sure. Then I had to wait another 1/2 hr for them to read the x-rays. which were good. So armed with two new prescriptions she sent me on my way. I had to go get them filled and I just nicely got home at 5pm. So it was 9:15 to 4:30! It will all be worth it if it helps me get healthy again. I was so miserable, I wouldn't have done anything at home anyway!

So that is my day. She gave me a heavy cough medicine with codeine and said I should sleep well tonight. I sure hope so.

Didn't mean to go on and on but you asked if it was the flu. Both times I went to Urgent Care they were clear to tell me it is not the flu but acute bronchitis.

Morning!

I survived Christmas but was miserable. So this morning I back to Urgent Care. Right now I am just waiting. They are so busy they said it wiuld be a 2 hour wait. I sent Norm back to the RV park so he can do his Woodcarving class. I will call him when I'm done. it has been a full 2 hour wait so far.

Becky - good to see your post. emoticon
