I am so glad that you are doing better with the program. I was also very down on myself for the first few days of Insanity, and again on the first day of Month 2. After pushing though the pain, it gradually got...not easier...but more managable. Now I am finishing my second round and am already making plans for the third. Keep up the great work and remember...DIG DEEPER!!! emoticon

Just take more breaks if needed. The endurance will come with time.

I'm not doing the Insanity workouts yet. However, my personal trainer does work me hard the 2 days a week I see him. I find that when I'm really sore after Tuesday that on Thursday when I do more lifting it seems to stretch out my muscles so then I'm fine after Thursday.

I'd try doing that. Maybe after your workout for the day lift some 10 lbs weights (nothing too heavy) to stretch our your muscles. Some bicep curls, tricep curls etc. Also stretch your legs really well.

This ALWAYS helps me after an intense personal training session.

I am your same height and a little heavier so I know where you are coming from. Listen to your body. I hurt my knee when I started out but didn't quit (just made some modifications). I also did the first month twice to give me more time to catch up. We can do this together. Stick in there!

You can do it! I'm just on my first week too (Pure Cardio tonight) and I'm also pretty out of shape with discouraging fit test results. I just do as much as I can and take more water breaks as needed. If I have to stop an exercise early I'll just lightly jog it out through the end until the next one I can jump back into.

You have done great so far. Wow! 250 to 193. That is awesome!

One of the things that sort of bugs me about Insanity is there are no modifications - so you have to make them up when you first start because my guess is that most people are NOT able to do the workouts straight through from day one. That being said, I wonder if that his the program's primary strategy: don't give them an easy out and they won't be able to take one. I am slowing moving from my self-serving modifications to the entire thing. Hitting month two next week. Pray for me.

Listen to your body so you don't end up getting hurt. When I first started and tried to keep up with everything they did it was too much. So I slowed it down and did what I could. I'm repeating Month 1 now and it is MUCH better!

Good luck!!!

I had the same problem the first 3 days of Insanity. I thought my legs were going to fall off! It does get better. After the third day, my legs were not really sore anymore. I think it is just from using muscle areas that I had not touched before. I have heard other people say the same thing, the first few days = jelly legs. I am the same height as you and very close in weight. I think if you put all your effort into the workouts you will see results.

I started the Insanity workout on Monday with the fit test and have been so hyped, but I feel that even though my mind says,"DIG DEEPER" my 47y/o 193 lb 5ft 7 in body says otherwise. I have been doing the gazelle for 30-90 min 6 days a week and recently began to jog some,I thought I could handle it. I remember being sore when I first started the gazelle and could only use it for 3 min,but I am so sore,I am taking probably more ibuprofen than I should be and legs hurt so much that by the end of my shift at the hospital I am limping. Will it get better of am I to unfit for this at this time? I really want to do this at some point,I might just not be ready now.
