My Sister Kathy writes poetry She wrote this just recently for what we're all going through with our dad.

I thought I'd share it for those also needing an uplift and a spark of faith and hope.

Joy Cometh In The Morning

Oft times my feet are heavy
as I stumble through the blurry mask of dusk into night
They grow weary although encouraged by the steady beating of my heart
it pounds out the rhythm till it burns in my ears…
There is Joy in the morning!

Where is that morning?
sometimes I feel I have reached the dawn of breaking
I cannot go on then a ray seems to touch the tip of my soul
its warmth tells me to carry on and do not look back at the absence of light…
Joy cometh in the morning

Will the gloom of murky darkness never end
will the heart that’s torn ever be mended?
Doubts continue to swarm and choke the dreams of tomorrow
clinging to an old rugged tree I hear a still small voice…
“Hold on my child, Joy comes in the morning”

Make sure you aren't running away from your problems, always moving towards something.

There are times when change--moving to a new city or a new home, or changing careers--is the right thing at the right time. But there are also times when the urge for change is really just a desire to run away from problems that need to be faced rather than avoided. These are the kinds of problems that recur in our lives. For example, issues with coworkers that seem to arise at every job we take, or repeatedly getting into unhealthy relationships. A move might temporarily distract us, and even cure the problem for a time, simply by taking us out of the equation in which the problem fully manifested itself. However, Murphy's law dictates, the problem will eventually reappear even in our new situation.

One way to make sure you aren't running from your problems is to notice whether you are moving towards something that is exciting in its own right, as opposed to something that is appealing only because it is not where you are now. For example, if you are leaving a city because you feel you can't afford it, you could be reinforcing poverty consciousness, and you might find that you are unable to make ends meet in your new city as well. It would ultimately be less of an effort to stay where you are and look more deeply into your beliefs about money. You may discover that as you address these issues, you are able to make more money simply by changing your mindset. You may still decide to move, but it will be an act with a positive intention behind it and not an escape, which could make all the difference.

Any pain involved in facing our issues is well worth the effort in the end. When we face our problems instead of avoiding them, we free our energy and transform ourselves from people who run away into people who move enthusiastically forward.

This year I celebrate my 59 th birthday. While for many of you that may seem quite youngish, for others, that means I am old enough to be your mom or even your grandmother. Either way, I do not like the transformation my body is undergoing! I wish I could say I am embracing this getting older with grace, but in all honesty, I am not exactly fond of it.

I do not care for the way certain areas of my physic are beginning to wrinkle and sag with every passing year. It's hard not to notice the fine lines every morning and the white, gray hair. Well, quite frankly, I'm completely white/grey now, my skin is not quite so moist and yes, sometimes I awaken with a few more aches and pains than I care to have.

And let's not talk or even think about the continuous saga of "where did I leave my prescription glasses". Where else would they be, but on the top of my head where I'd propped them. Oh, but, I was the one who was going to defy the ageing process. I was the one who planned on ageing well into her sixties without needing a magnifying glass to read the fine print on any given label. that I was able to read without any problem with what seemed not that long ago and now 'reads' like a massive blur. Well, I have to say I have not at all been able to defy this ageing and I own at least two pairs of glasses which I am always misplacing at least one pair. And memory? That although very entertaining to some, is an entirely different story.

And you know, sometimes I actually forget that I am getting older. Some mornings I don't feel my age. Don't get me wrong. I don't feel like a spring chicken but there are days I feel at least ten years younger than I actually am.

While I can't stop the ageing process, I am not going down without a fight. I will continue this journey of becoming the healthiest me, I can be. Heck, I've already known and gone through menopause and I already enjoy senior's discounts. And most, times I still forget just how old I am even with these fine lines and white, grey hair.

Funny how the younger generation is so eager to grow up while we as the older we get, want to slow time. even better, go back in time without losing all the life experiences we've gained how far we've come. Unfortunately, either way, no ifs, ands or buts, it's beyond our control, always was and will be. So, I guess without the capability of slowing time or reverting back to a younger age, we at least better enjoy it one day at a time, while we can.

All of the events in our lives lead to other events, they are all connected.

Sometimes we have that one experience that we just can't comprehend and of course, the biggest conundrum is as to WHY!? But if we wait long enough, a reason for that experience usually reveals itself. All the events in our lives lead to other events, and all that we have manifested in this present moment is the result of past events and experiences. We cannot easily tease apart the many fibres that have been woven together to create our current situation. And as difficult as it is to believe or accept, experiences that don't make sense, are just as responsible for the good things in our lives as the experiences we do understand or label as "good."

This is especially important to remember at times when we feel disconnected, insecure or having lesser confidence in what to do, how to handle it or adjust. It is often in times like these that we may ultimately end up having an experience that changes us in a profound way. When all the pieces of our life don't quite make sense, we can remember that there may be some hidden gem of a reason that we are where we are having the experiences we are having.

It's interesting to look back on past experiences with an eye to uncovering those gems--the dreadful job in an office with a dishonest, micromanaging narcissistic boss that you couldn't tolerate, who needs to be put into her place by the proper authorities with time and patience eventually got her comeuppance; consequences for her actions. Remembering these past experiences can restore our faith in the present. Life is full of buried treasures. Chances are, you're unknowingly sitting on some right now.

The Power Of Goal Setting

If you’re anything like most, you’ve got things you want to accomplish! We’ve all got ambitions and goals we want to achieve because goal setting is a natural and large part of life. I’ve learned that successfully reaching my goals is totally doable, especially when I plan out specifically how to actually accomplish them.

I used to think goal setting was as simple as making a few mental notes about my grand plans. However, I’ve learned through experience that having a great strategy makes my goals way easier to achieve. From organizing my objectives to tracking my progress, SMART goal setting is an awesome technique that’s been incredibly effective for me. I found that breaking down this entire goal-setting system is what works. With the SMART approach, before you know it, your dreams will have become reality.

Why set goals? You have ideas of what you want to achieve, but uncertain of how to actually accomplish them? If this is the problem you’ve been facing, it’s time to take control of your life's direction by setting goals to achieve your dreams and keep yourself focused. Here, you’ll learn the difference between goals and goal setting, how to break down lifetime goals into smaller attainable goals and how to set goals within the SMART framework. These techniques will help you build a roadmap for achieving your dreams.

There is tremendous power in goal setting. It helps you plan a better roadmap to where you want to be in life. It keeps you motivated to turn your vision into reality. What is Goal Setting

S - Specific: set precise goals that have been broken down as much as possible.

M - Measurable: by putting times, dates, places, and amounts, you will be able to measure how long a goal should take and work toward completing it within the allotted time.

A - Attainable: it is important to set goals you can achieve, instead of setting yourself up for failure; identify the obstacles that can stand in your way or the possible difficulty you may face.

R - Relevant: ensure that all your goals are relevant to what you want to eventually accomplish.

T - Time-bound: making sure that you give yourself a deadline to accomplish your goal will give you the motivation you need to get on your feet and get it done.

Now that we know how to organize our types of goals and make them SMART, it's time to put that plan into action.

Do you Know Your Number?

Most people know their weight. When a new patient goes into their doctor's office, most will tell him or her their weight before they step on my scale.

There is, however, another number besides weight that’s a critical indicator to overall health.

Unfortunately, most people don’t know this number. Most doctors and even cardiologists don’t test for it.

We're bombarded with toxins in today's modern world... everywhere from the polluted air we breathe, the water we drink, the shampoos and other cosmetics that lather our bodies with chemicals, and of course, all of the chemical additives, pesticides, hormones, antibiotics and other harmful compounds in the food that we eat.

All of these TOXINS can have harmful effects on your body, harming your metabolism and hormones, impairing your digestive system, and zapping your energy levels.

If I could tell you ONE thing that you could do each morning right as you wake up to help your body eliminate some of these toxins, improve your digestion, stimulate your metabolism, and BOOST your energy, would you do it?

OK, we've all been here before, some of us have never left but struggle with perseverance. Like any pathway to change, success with becoming the healthiest you, you can be, depends on taking full action and sticking with it. So many start and stop. Those who take full action coupled with a combined commitment to success, WIN, PERIOD.

The secret key to success is being smart with goal setting.

Be specific. Knowing exactly what you want starts with having a clear vision.

Set a measurable timeline in reaching your goal.

Make a definite commitment to yourself, to promise 100 percent in achieving that goal.

Be realistic. Be fair and kind to yourself. Don't set yourself up for disappointment by setting unrealistic goals that are impossible to achieve.

Be timely. Goals shouldn't be open-ended. Setting a timeline will give you the motivation to meet this timeline by working harder and staying on track. With setting a finish line, something not in the too far distant future to move closer to every day.

A SMART goal is a rock-solid, no loopholes goal that leaves no room for excuses or deviation, other than your choice not to fully commit in doing your best.

For example,

I _______________ will commit to becoming the healthiest me I can be by following ( your choice of weight loss program) for 30 days. My starting date is ___________
and by being physically active Monday, Wednesday and Friday's; walking (your choice of cardio) for one hour a day starting, __________.

Now, you've set your smart goals and know exactly what you want to achieve over the next 30 days. To help keep these goals at the forefront, top of mind and yourself focused, write them down and stick it above your bed, on your bedroom mirror on the refrigerator, paint a visual picture of how great you're going to look and feel. See your self working toward that goal. See your efforts and diligence, the short-term fulfillment and the long-term results. These constant reminders will help to keep you on track and win over any tactics or excuses you might be tempted to lean on.

Picture the moment when at the end of that 30th day and what you have succeeded in accomplishing. Feel the pride.

You will not give up. You will be successful. You can stick to your goals. Every cell in your body is vibrating with energy and health. You are worthy of being the best healthiest you, you can be!

You can achieve anything you set your mind to. Your potential is limitless!

Never stop learning. Never stop growing.

The Right Formula to Speed Up Weight Loss (NOMORE-DIEting)

Changing The Way We Eat

Limit sweets, not eliminate.

Sugary foods with refined or processed sugars are more often high in calories and trigger cravings that make you want more. You do not want to create forbidden foods. This only increases the temptation to overindulge. Treating yourself to a small slice of cake on special occasions may help you to avoid overdoing it later. Yes, by all means, satisfy your sweet tooth but do it with natural sugars, STAY AWAY FROM ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS. You're far better off with something more nourishing and beneficial like fruit or no sugar added yogurt with cinnamon.

Drink more water.

Studies show that even though diet soda has no calories, it may slow down your metabolism and make you want to eat more sugar (you know, with that fake sugar in it and all). STAY AWAY FROM ANY FORM OF ARTIFICIAL SUGARS! Quench your thirst and curb your appetite with water and tea.

Spread out your protein.

Protein tends to boost your metabolism. Make it part of each meal and snack rather than saving it up for dinner.

AVOID CRASH (DIET) WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAMS. AND FOR THAT MATTER, TEMPORARY PROGRAMS as well. where you lose the weight and then no longer follow the program because you've lost the weight. THEY ARE MONEY GRABBING TRAPS. Even worse they cause yoyo dieting. Lose the weight, gain it all back. Lose it again, gain it all back. And most times you gain more than you lost. Don't even get me started on how unhealthy this is for your body!

Cutting calories too much can backfire because your body will start to burn less energy. ONE SHOULD NEVER EAT LESS THAN 1200 CALORIES A DAY. If you need to, talk with your doctor or use an online calculator to estimate how many calories you need to consume each day.

Changing the Way You Work Out

Do aerobics.

Walking, running, biking, swimming are the most effective workouts for losing weight. Finding a variety of activities you enjoy and inviting a friend along, so you can encourage each other to stick to your program helps a great deal

Build your muscles. As your muscle mass increases, you burn more calories even when you’re resting. So now you need to schedule at least 2 days a week for strength training and give your body adequate rest in between sessions.

The way to do this is to focus on compound exercises. Lunges use up more energy than bicep curls. That’s because they’re a compound movement that targets multiple muscle groups at once.
Try interval training. Alternating between upper and lower body using higher and lower intensity exercises is another way to burn more calories in less time. You can apply this strategy to any workout.

Move more. Activity outside of the gym counts too. Take the stairs instead of elevators. Walk around when you’re talking on the phone (I love pacing when I’m on the phone!) and do walking on the spot while you’re watching TV Even if you do this during commercials – these days, it's very possible to can get in a full workout since commercial breaks seem to have gotten way longer

Sleep well.

Insufficient sleep can cause you to gain weight. Go to bed and get up on a consistent schedule, even on weekends and holidays. Darken your bedroom and use a fan to block out noisy neighbours and car alarms.

Manage stress.
(This is huge for me)

Chronic stress can make your body store more fat too. Find relaxation practices that work for you, such as massage or Tai Chi. You already know stress wreaks havoc on the body and mind so start finding ways to reduce your stress as much as possible.


Keep a food journal.

Many adults underestimate how much they eat. Use a digital app or a notebook to track what you actually consume each day. Watch for patterns so you can spot your personal triggers for overeating and gain control and overcome them.

Talk to your doctor.

If you’re still struggling to lose weight, your doctor can answer your individual questions and help you to find a solution. You may need to be tested for a variety of conditions that can contribute to being overweight or you may just need to eat less and exercise more.

We all know that losing a large amount of weight, which defines most of us here, definitely takes time. You can, however, speed up the progress by making small, positive lifestyle changes. Knowing what to eat (and how much – watch those serving sizes!) and how to exercise will help you to reach your fitness goals faster.

Sugarcoating

Come on, you know we all do it and for reasons I’ll get into shortly, we feel we must! It’s commonplace; it’s acceptable; and I venture to say that most of the time, people know we’re doing it and they are okay with it! *shaking my head*

Why is it that being truthful gets put in the same bucket as being offensive or rude; notwithstanding the WAY the truth is delivered.

What do you think the world would be like if people were bred, to be honest, mature, and courageous and actually wanted the truth????

Why are people who are blunt and say what they feel regarded as jerks??? (I know, sometimes they really are!)

Have we all just gone soft???

Have you ever asked a question and someone gave you an honest answer but you didn’t like it and got offended and angry???

Well, as I've gotten older, most of the time, I end up not saying anything if I can’t find something positive/helpful to say. Yes, I’d rather bite my tongue than sugar coat these days. I find picking my battles with certain people, keeping my thoughts to myself, and maintaining relationships are much more satisfying than setting people off because, although they asked for it, they didn’t really want to hear the truth.

And begs the question, how often do we sugarcoat the truth for our own selves???
Why do we do it?

Simply put, we sugarcoat because we just don't want to acknowledge or face the truths staring us right in the face.
Not because we want to spare our own feelings. Not because we fear judgement. We are always sitting in judgement of ourselves but there are times that that judgement gets fogged over and we sugarcoat. You do know that we are only diluting ourselves, right?

I don’t know about you but I’d rather learn and grow from the truth than to think everything’s gravy. Think about it: if you try to “sweeten up/beat around the bush/make light of” the truth, it may not be in my best interest. I think it’s better that, all of us want the truth and, in turn, give it back to others.

Now, this doesn’t mean that we go around doing it with the intent to hurt people. That’s not what I’m saying. We’re adults here, supposedly, so you know what I mean.

Over to you…
Soooo, would you rather someone sugar coat things to you…or would you want him/her to be straight up, even if your ego will be crushed??? Also, think about the last time you sugar-coated something….what was the reason? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I chose this name for a reason. But ya know I myself even became detoured along the way and here I am still sitting with extra weight on my belly that I not only don't need but shouldn't be carrying for my own good for health reasons that could once again turn serious.

How many of you are in the same shoes?
How many of you need and want to change that this year?

We can! No ifs ands, or buts. But the dedication and motivation have to be a priority and not just priority but TOP Priority.

NO MORE DETOURS. NO MORE MAKING EXCUSES OR PHYCOLOGOCAL REASONING TO JUSTIFY ACTIONS for allowances...OR NON-ACTIONS for not doing what needs to be done in order to reach our goals!

I'm not just "preaching" to the choir. I'm preaching to myself.

I know what I can do to accomplish what I need to accomplish. YOU DO TOO. So let's do it already and GETT"ER DONE! NO MORE DRAGGING IT OUT. What's the point to continue feeling the way we do with this extra baggage we are carrying? There isn't any. There shouldn't be any.

I don't know about you'all but I'm THROUGH with this. DONE. This year the remainder of this weight becomes history.

Yes, there will be "bumps in the road" curveballs, temptations, along the way but we all have the gumption, the backbones and strength to get through them. NO MORE Whoa always me. NO MORE pity parties. It's time to get real, dig in, and gett'er done!

NO MORE spinning our wheels. NO MORE doing what we've always done. Look at us where has it gotten us. It's time for a change. Permanent change.

It's time we got passionate about ourselves. It's ME TIME. IT's GO TIME.
It's all about Passion, teamwork and accountability.

The Year of the Rat is sure to offer the type of enjoyable challenges that will enable us to become the healthiest you, you can be...all we can possibly be.

The Chinese New Year this time around is the Year of the Rat, which brings with it the promise of success. The Chinese admire the rat because of its quick mind and ability to gather valuables and save them for the future. Since 2020 is the Year of the Rat, the year ahead should offer many opportunities to make choices that enable us to accomplish our goals. This is especially true for those born in the year of the rat.

Since the rat is the first sign in the Chinese zodiac calendar, you may already be feeling the energetic rhythm beginning. You may also feel a pioneering spirit that's helping you to forge ahead with a completely new endeavour, inspiration to succeed

If we can get past the Western culture's distaste for rats, we may just be able to appreciate their intelligence, resourcefulness and adaptability. These qualities might offer us hope that whatever challenges we may face will only serve to make us stronger and more able.

As well, the rat's ability to solve problems is well-known, so we can choose to enjoy any challenge that helps us keep our minds sharp while also making life more of a game. A competitive nature may even develop, leading us to use the rat's ability to focus on priorities. The rat can also remind us to be less worried about pleasing everyone we meet and more focused on our own goals.

Speaking quite frankly, however, we should also be aware of the rat's habit and the tendency for stockpile (the packrat) and permit ourselves to become so focused that we neglect those around us. Being constantly on the alert for opportunity can be stressful, so we can make the decision to balance our pursuit of success with the enjoyment of good food and atmosphere and the people we trust to offer us both support and space.

Pity Party cafe

We all have those days when bad things seem to outweigh the good and our first thought is, life isn't fair, "Why me?" That feeling self-indulgently sorry for yourself. "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to." Days like that can test anyone's ability to be grateful and feel optimistic. If you have a tendency to feel sorry for yourself, and many of us do, things usually progress to the next stage: the pity party.

You begin to feel like the innocent victim of a dismal fate because you are seeing your life through ineffective lenses. Most of the thoughts that run through your mind at times like these are not helpful, and they mainly serve to increase your distress and feelings of powerlessness. What these feelings and thoughts don't do is change your circumstances or make you feel better.

I’ll just bet, like me, you've lost count of how many self-pity parties you've thrown through the years. It seems on any given day, we can easily create a mental list of things that didn’t go right, problems that you didn’t deserve and blessings someone else received instead.

When you're vulnerable, emotional or tired it doesn’t take much. Especially when you’ve been so busy spinning your wheels and forget to slow down and just breathe. Or you've gotten stuck in the muck of comparison and your thoughts carry you to dark places before you even realize they’re in control – instead of you.

During those times, because you’ve spent too much time focusing on all the past “less than” in your life, you're not going to be a good judge of all the present good in your life.



When you have a terrible day, A day overflowing with one problem after another and calm or controlled isn’t in our vocabulary, there should definitely be a time and place to have your feelings so you can work through them. It's time to stop with the "Everything is going to be alright. I'm tough-skinned, all I have to do is push through." It's time to remove the rose coloured glasses and stop pretending that you are fine, things will be alright when they're not and you aren't.

It's also important, however, to notice when you're having a pity party. And although this sounds counterproductive, do allow yourself some time to wallow. It’s only natural, and we have to feel what we feel. It's a good idea to set a time limit in which to fully express your emotions and not feel guilty, ashamed, or judge yourself.

I don’t know about you, but when I’m smack in the middle of one of my pity parties, (yes, I have them too. Not often but I have.) I desperately need a shot of reality. I need that something, that will help reset my attitude and my thoughts. What I don’t need is someone to make me feel better or soothe my selfishness. I don’t need healthy self-talk. And although I practice gratitude faithfully, this alone isn’t the remedy for self-pity.

Having a friend to be with you during this process is always helpful. Sometimes that may turn out to be your closest sibling. Whatever the case, don’t try to bottle up your feelings, no matter how embarrassed you might feel. Talking it over with that one patient friend who will really listen, I find it really helps to absolve the emotional agitation and anxiety. If you're like me you may also want to write about it, putting your feelings onto paper or in a blog.

When your time is up, you've expressed and absolved the incident, lit's time to let go of the negativity you just expressed. If you've written down your feelings, you can burn the piece of paper or put it through the paper shredder. No matter the root of your pity party, let a little bit of Katy Perry into your heart. You know, “I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire.”

A Surrender Box

How many of you find that your minds have become too full? Everything from our to-do lists, worries, plans, and aspirations and ambitions, right? Have you found that they've become so crowded together that you don't have any room to think? But you feel that by keeping them at the forefront you believe that somehow all of those concerns are being taken care of, right? But guess what, in maintaining our mental hold on every detail, we may actually be delaying the realization of our dreams and the resolution of our worries because we won't let them go. At times such as these, a surrender box could be to our advantage.



What is a surrender box, you ask? A surrender box allows you to let go of your worries and desires so the universe can help take care of them for you. We write down what we want or need to happen and then place it into a box. By writing and placing our thoughts in the box, we are taking action and letting the universe know we need help and are willing to surrender our feelings.

We are giving ourselves permission not to concern ourselves with that particular problem any longer and trust that the universe is helping to take care of it. You may even want to decorate your box and place it in a special place. Your surrender box is a sacred container for your worries. Once your worries and desires are dropped into the surrender box, not only do you free up space in your mind by letting go of your worries and desires but you are giving your burdens over to a higher power.

Surrendering your worries and concerns and placing them in the hands of the universe doesn't mean that we've given up or have been defeated. Instead, you have released the realization of those desires and the resolution of our worries and are no longer concerning yourself with their outcomes.

It's also gratifying to go back and pull the slips of paper out of the box once your requests have been granted. It's amazing how quickly problems go away and dreams come true when we finally let go and allow a higher power to lend a hand.

Cutting The Puppet Strings

Is losing weight or “eating better” on your mind these days? There's no shortage of weight-loss grappling for your attention. And the reality is that most the good and bad — will certainly help to shed those unwanted pounds short term.

Don't get me started on those weight loss programs that promote diets claiming to lose up to 20 lbs or 10 inches in said many days or weeks. I have no use for them, period. It's Entrapment. They severely restrict your food choices, therefore your body doesn’t get the energy and nutrients it needs so much so that you can’t function to full efficiency. Let's call it for what it is. It's starvation pure and simple and they are difficult to continue for very long. Hence the tag Fad Diet.

Fad diets not only damage the body but also your self-esteem because they can only set you up for failure. You blame yourself for not having the ‘willpower’ to see it through to its end. It's not you, it's never been you. It's the diet that's the problem. You don’t fail at dieting; the diet fails you.

How many of you have gotten caught up in the cycle of Yo-Yo dieting? You chose the latest, most popular weight loss program, you're determined, motivated, have full faith that it's the one that'll work. You follow the plan to the letter restricting the necessary foods to stay within their daily caloric intake etc. You lose weight, maybe not all of it but a significant amount to make a difference, plateau, can't break the plateau, give up on it, regain all your weight and more. Chose another program...and the cycle begins.

Have you become their puppet on strings?



Restricting your eating too much make​s​ it really difficult to reach a healthy weight. It produces such a strong drive to eat that it can make you feel out of control with your eating. Over-eating and binge eating are the body’s “natural” responses to starvation and is what the body does to protect itself.

Fad diets only lead to obsessive and unhealthy behaviours such as skipping meals, fasting, bingeing, excessive exercising or abuse of medications. Fad diets can also lead to eating disorders such as bulimia, anorexia nervosa or binge eating disorder.

Following this kind of diet can most certainly lead to an unhealthy relationship with food. Food becomes the enemy and deprives you of the joy and satisfaction of eating. If this is you, you've become like a puppet on a string spinning to the music they play.

So how do you spot a fad diet? Below are some key phrases and tactics that will help you avoid temporary results, unhealthy strategies, and long-term frustration.

It promises a rapid and easy fix
It claims to have a “secret” strategy
The plan is very low calorie
It’s promoted with buzz words such as Fast, Low Carb, Clean eating, Detox, Cleanse, Comparing Good vs Bad, Skinny, Thin, Quick, Fasting
It markets specific “super” foods or products with it
The plan or product is temporary or a certain number of days with no additional nutrition education or transition phase involved
The plan severely restricts or forbids certain foods or food groups, especially fruit, whole grains, or fats
There are poor, biased or no scientific research to support the claims
The plan suggests that food or supplements can change body chemistry, PH or alkalize you
The claims sound too good to be true…and likely are.

Even if you do reach your weight loss goal the struggle then becomes in keeping it off, and that is going to depend on having a plan that you can stick with for life. So, I ask you, "Is that what you want to have included a part of your weight loss journey just to look great? Is that what you want as your lifestyle changes? Because that's the life you'll have to continue with if that is your choice. Why would you put that beautiful body through that agony, that trauma? It isn't worth it.

Let's cut the puppet strings and choose a lasting Lifestyle Change that's just right for you.

Success, The Most Desired End Result

Without the attributes of focus, determination and diligence of hard work, reaching the desired end result of any goal is impossible.



What is success? How is it defined? Mostly, it is defined as an achievement of your goals or even having small occasions where you feel to have achieved something. Whatever it is, it surely brings a smile to your face, happiness and satisfaction. But hey, even a robber feels it a success in committing a successful robbery.

Success’ is a very powerful word. Many of us run behind it; most of us want to conquer it. So, what is a success all about? Does this mean acquiring money, power or fame?

We know and would all agree that success is much more than riches, power or fame. Success is more about the feeling of satisfaction and exhilaration one gets from reaching for the bar set and carrying it out with focus, determination and diligence of hard work and reaching the desired end result. We also know that success means different things to different people.



None the less, too all, one of the most important in the recipe for success is determination and it might as well be said that this is the most important secret to becoming successful because it is the necessary key to never give up until the pursuit of happiness and satisfaction is fully met. But the level of happiness and satisfaction can also be found in very different things for different people.

True success means understanding your dreams and working with that great passion you possess because that is where your heart and soul exists for those dreams in making them come true.

Many great people have suggested various ways to achieve success. But the real secret in nailing success is to believe that you are already successful. With this strong affirmative thought, success is so much more easily achieved.



Yes, the path to success is always challenging. But with confidence to face any challenging situation we are the ultimate overcomer.
The third and most important is discipline. When we work with disciplined behaviour, things will automatically fall in place.
If we stick to these influences, nothing can stop us. And, not forgetting, that success is a journey that continues even after the goal is achieved.

My wins for the old year were to pay off 3 outstanding accounts, the Subaru Forrester, the denturist for Walt's dentures, both upper and lower 5,500 smacks! They bled us dry with interest! Plus one credit card! Sitting pretty nice financially right now!

Thank you for the encouragement and opportunity to reflect on the past year. It was a tough one, and I've been struggling to focus on the positive. As you stated, the little wins are important! I'm going to start with the ones that come to mind immediately.

WIN 1 -- I moved on to a new job at a new company. I was quite unhappy where I was at.
WIN 2 -- I payed off a credit card!

OK, so, 2019 has come to an end, and we are all focused on 2020. You probably have some new goals in mind (which you should if you don't already).

A new year is like a clean slate. It is your chance to do the right things and make the positive changes you need in your life.

But, before you get too focused on the future, let's take a look at the past year.

You may already be putting it behind yourself and are laser-focused on what you will do next. That is not a bad thing, but I believe it is important to reflect on what you did in 2019.

I am talking about your wins.

I challenge you right now to write down every win you had! I don't care how small it may be.

The Road Less Travelled

The coming of a new year represents an opportunity to begin again. It is a time to step off of the dead-end paths we've been on and to create a fork in the road, to completely disassociate from the old and put our lives in better order with fresh possibilities. In harnessing the power of transformative energy is a matter of truly believing that with new resolve we can in fact vanquish those past reoccurring, repetitive patterns. (If you continue with the same you'll continually achieve the same results.) Time to break away. Out with the old, in with the new.
In believing that we are capable of changing our lives, we are more inclined to believe that we are capable of leaving past missteps and blunders behind.

Our dedication, which might otherwise falter, is then buoyed and becomes anchored by higher expectations. Thus, the beginning of the new year is traditionally popular in dealing with difficult endeavours. The two most sought-after being to quit smoking, losing weight; fulfilling those goals that fell by the wayside. Not only is the transition from last year to the next the possibility of change but also the opportunity to pursue emotional, spiritual, and intellectual growth because we no longer feel burdened by past regret and disappointment.

Whatever your reality, it is within your power to create the fork that allows you to walk a more conscious, grounded path. So, view the start of the coming year as a time of rebirth and allow yourself to focus on what you want to accomplish in the next 365 days. Because you have a clean slate in front of you, you are free to immerse yourself in new experiences with impunity.
If you feel a need to reconnect with your spirituality, consider taking up yoga, meditation, or another discipline that challenges both your mental and physical selves. Fill your newly-cleansed mind with stimulating knowledge, poignant wisdom. Clearing your home or workspace of clutter will also improve the flow of energy in your life, giving you the momentum you need to stay true to your new resolve. And beginning a fresh start may include a fresh journal. A wonderful way to celebrate.
