I[m back after a break or should I say a gain of 25 pounds. I should never have stopped after hitting my goal weight. Now, it seem harder but never the less I'm here and ready to do my best to reach goal once more and maintain. Went to the gym most of the summer and was able to not gain anymore but I want to drop those pounds. I'm going to do only cardio and see if this help me drop the weight. I know it's said that muscles weigh more but I can't take the scale staying in the same place. It feels like I'm not doing anything. I'll be going to the gym again after a 3 wk. period off. Wish me luck.

This is my first post here in this team. I can not believe it has been so long since I joined summer of 2009. The first couple of years I did things mostly half heartedly. and in a way i am still like that. I just did more things and and I lost 10 pound this summer. I am starting again and i want to see how being involved in teams and team goals and support fro the community can help me. Life has gotten alot simpleier. I am happy to just focus on this goal and really see where it can take me. I have become more realistic. i have gone from wantin to lose 100 pounds in a year to seeing if i can lose 10 with in three months. I want to change.

I lost 8 pounds in February by watching what I was eating and doing the gym... Then hit the gym hard in March only to gain 1-2 pounds a week for the past 4 weeks.....ughhh! I think I'm building muscle because nothing is getting loose. I have always watched my intake. Any advice?

Iím off to the start of a great day! Iíve already worked out for 45 minutes and have a walking date planned for lunch. I think my husband and I are going to work on our yard tonight after dinner. It will be nice to have it looking good for Spring! I want to plant some flowers soon too.

Michelle Ė Iím glad youíre feeling better. I donít have horrible allergies, but my eyes have been burning lately. It sounds like youíve been incredibly busy lately! Congrats on the 3 pounds gone.

Doing well here - was finally able to run yesterday - due to colds, allergies and bad weather, I just haven't been able to. That felt GOOD!

Got my term paper turned in and am now working on reading assignments for my next class that begins next week, so it'll be busy, busy, busy again for awhile. And Actually in June, too when I begin my next intensive.

I'm down 3 pounds this month! There's a good chance I might make it to my goal weight or at least goal range again by my birthday on July 5.

JanaLee - great that your daughter is getting in on the act, developing good habits at an early age!

Will try to read your blog in the morning, Nanc. Sorry you are having trouble again. I will pray for you.

Caching is fun. Gets us out, we get to walk, and I love hunting for treasure! :)

Had a great workout this evening with 9y/o. She just may be seeing exercising can be fun!

Last week started out okay but ended horribly. I'm having trouble with our office manager again. If you're interested about the details, I've blogged about it. I'm really hoping that this week goes smoothly. We shall see.

Caching sounds like fun, JanaLee - something I'd like to try sometime.

I'm knee-deep in notes for a term paper due on Wednesday. At the same time, I'm co-leading the newest Spark Class Team and the other co-leader is nowhere in sight! Somehow I WILL fit in some exercise today even if it's just a walk to the post office and back to mail a birthday card. I know the fresh air will help keep my mind functioning!

Have a good day!

Blessings today,
Michelle

Hi all! We had an absolutely beautiful day yesterday for the first day of Spring. The sun was shining and it was 60 degrees. Today, no so much. Cloudy, rainy and cold. Went out geocaching with DH anyway. Got soaked, but had a great walk and found several caches. Met some really nice people caching also. Hope everyone is having a great day.

I love skating too. I really need to start skating more often so I can get work on my balance. I won't be skating this week as my hubby and I are on vacation. I plan to work out every day though.

I'm not sure now if it's sinuses or what. My head ache is sometimes in the top right side of my head and then it will be behind my ear. My head feels tender sometimes behind my ear, almost like a bruise. I'll give it a couple more days to go away and if it doesn't I'll head to the doctor.

I love to ice skate. I roller skated often as a kid and in the Winter we had a couple lakes that froze over enough to skate on. I took my girls a couple weeks ago and we all had a great time. It would be nice to be able to skate during lunch. Have fun. It is great exercise. Maybe I will pull out my old in-line skates next week.

Have had a good day today so far. I've been getting plenty of sleep lately (made it a priority) and that helps. Taught a couple of classes, had a good talk with my pastor about retiring from some of my duties so I can finish my M.A. Have been tracking calories and eating right. Need to go for a walk so I can check off exercise for the day. Then it's back to the books!

Nancy, I fought that sinus thing for weeks and I think I'm finally over it. Have you tried a Neti pot?

Blessings today,
Michelle

Michelle - I love to skate and will like it a lot better once I get the hang of it again. We didn't go today because my friends ankle was sore. I could have gone myself but didn't really feel like it. I've been battling a sinus headache for a few days and don't feel like doing much of anything.

More snow! Amazing! I'm going to be soooo ready for spring when it finally comes.

Been getting back on track. Decided not to post a long goals list as many are repeats and I need to conserve my time online right now. Finally was able to start running again on Monday and it felt great!

Nancy, ice-skating will be so much fun. I haven't been since I was a kid and they froze over the baseball field at our nearby park.

Michelle

Michelle Ė Iím glad you made it home safe and sound. February wasnít a good month for me, but Iím determined to lose during March!

Bkwmn Ė Sorry about what youíre going through but it sounds like youíre doing great. Use those stairs to your advantage! Itís great exercise.

Janalee Ė Iíve heard that changing up your exercise routine will give results. I guess your body gets used to the same routine and doesnít have to work as hard. Good luck!

I struggled through February but March is going to be a good month. Iíve learned that one of my co-workers ice skates and Iím going to go skating over my lunch hour 2 days a week. When I was skating at lunch a few years ago I got into pretty decent shape. I hope it works this time. I just have to learn to stay on my feet instead of on my butt or knees! Itís not as easy as I remember it being.

Hi everyone! Good to see some movement here. :)

BKWM - sorry about your loss. Sounds like you are ready to move forward and make this a positive. Good for you!

Nanc - glad you are still around.

Jella - I too have been stuck for a while. Trying to shake things up a little with different exercises. I hope this works. Good luck to you.
Zella - sounds like some exciting days. Good to see you back on.

Hello All,

As I blogged about yesterday, I'm moving forward with my life as my divorce proceeds. It's very amiciable, so that's a tremendous help. Every person I talked with about the fact he was witholding affection due to my weight & lack of exercise plan thought that was wrong, and that I wasn't necessarily the problem. As I've looked at the situation, it's not my weight that was the issue at all. I'm sad I got married only to be divorced less than 3 years later, but happy to have moved to AZ and to have the job I have.

I did gain weight over the last 2 months as I sat on the couch and mourned. I'm through a lot of that now, and tired of my clothes not fitting. Not sure when I'll start any exercise program, but I'm starting to watch what I eat, which is definitely a step in the right direction.

I also moved to a new apt, one on the 2nd floor; I just have to use the stairs that are in my own place now :)!

Thanks all!

Happy March, everyone! I'm back from a trip to the States but have been up to my ears with studying for an intensive course in missions history. I'll be posting my new goals list and updating my blog sometime over the weekend. Need to get back on track. A few pounds crept back on during February. Not surprising, if you saw all I was eating. But I've been getting in some good exercise.

Hope to catch up with everyone here or on your pages!

Blessings today,
Michelle

Hey yall, hope everybody is doing well. I am still chugging along exercising daily and eating within range. I have been stuck at the wanting to lose the last 10 pounds for awhile. I know I can do it. I know how to do it. I just have to eat real strict for a little while, but haven't been. I journaled about it this past weekend and feel ready to commit to working harder and eating better!

Angela - I do try to exercise daily, and it does help. I hadn't heard about the B complex vitamins. I should look into that. I ordered a Wii this week so that will give me something to do on the nights when he isn't home. Burning calories, and having fun all at the same time. I can't wait for it to get here!

AOHarris I hope you got to feeling better. I have been having some winter blas so if you find things that make you fell better, tell me!

KateLJM, I as well have come to enjoy hunting season too! My hubby comes back all happy to of hung out with his dad and friends. We usually have tons of meat, and best of all I get lots of time to myself. It took me awhile though the first few years I would pout and be a sad sack about it.

Nanc, I'm sorry to hear that sometimes it gets you down that your hubby is gone. It's unfortunate when we can't have the perfect schedule of family/alone time/work. Hopefully one day he will have a job that brings him closer to home. Untill then try as best you can to enjoy the positives.

I'm trying to pick myself up. I usually post on Spark until I feel better. It doesn't seem to be working today.

Kate - Unfortunately, I don't see an end to my husband being gone. But maybe that's fortunate too. At least it means he has a job! I do try to make the best of my time alone and do things I want. I eat what I want, I watch what I want and do what I want. It sure is easier to eat healthy when he's not home.

Nancy, my DH is out of town right now, too. Fortunately this is the tail end of hunting season, so he'll be around, pestering me to make mac 'n cheese again!

I adopt his hunting season as my "me" season, where my focus is just on my own needs. I was single for a long time before I was married, and I like my own company, so this works for me.

In my "me" season, I only need to buy food for me, so it's easier to be healthier.

Angela - No, I was starting to feel sorry for myself because my husband leaves every Monday morning and doesn't come back until Thursday or Friday. He works out of town. Most of the time it doesn't bother me, but once in a while it does. I'm okay now. I put the cookies in the freezer and yesterday I threw out all the junk food in the house. I'm completely on track today!

OHarris, great job keeping up the good work!

Nanc, When I have a temptation laying around, I give it away, throw it away, or get away! I have runaway from cookies before. have you explored what you are feeling sorry for? It always helps me to really examine my feelings. Am I feeling sorry for myself because I slipped up? Then the next meal is a great opportunity to do better. That's awesome that you are doing C25K! My girlfriend that I did it with did C25K and it has been a real transformation for her.

I have been doing real good, staying on track and exercising. Actually I overate Sunday, but I am not going to worry about it too much, just moving on and doing better!

I had a good day today. I was able to get my workout done before work. I had health meals and the portion control was very good today.

Angela - Way to go on the 5K! I'm doing a Couch to 5K workout and it feels great. I've only been doing it for a couple of week, so I'm only running 2 minutes at a time but it still feels great. I love the soreness I feel after a good workout.

My husband is leaving town early tomorrow morning and I'm starting to feel sorry for myself already. I baked cookies for him this weekend and really want one right now. I think I'm going to put them in the freezer right now before the temptation gets to strong. I'm taking them to work for the birthday celebrations next week.

Nanc glad your hubby got home safe and sound. Great job squeeking in a little workout. Squeezing in a bit here and there really makes a big difference.

Doing well, I did a 5K in Louisville yesterday with my best friend and our husbands. A bit sore from it, but feeling well.

Hope everybody is doing well, and keeping up the good new years resolutions!

Hello all! I'm having a great day so far. My husband made it home safe and a little cranky. His flight was delayed (imagine that!) for an hour and he hates waiting. It was because the bag count didn't match the passenger count so they had to go back. They didn't figure it out until the plan had already taxied out to the runway. Flying is such a pain.

He's catching up on his office work so I'm killing time waiting for him to get done. I've done a 30 minute workout and feel great! I wasn't sure I was going to do it today, but I decided that since he was working I might as well. I'm glad I did.

Michelle - I'm glad you're feeling better. Your walk sounds cold, but nice. If I had someone to walk with me I'd do it no matter how cold it was. That's great incentive.

Thanks, Nancy - You may be enjoying your time with your husband by the time you read this - hope you have a nice reunion.

I just got back from Nordic walking in the cold, cold, weather. But it was sunny, beautiful and fun and I felt good. Guess I'm healed - hallelujah! The couple I walk with were on vacation last week and had lots to tell about their week of skiing.

Looking forward to the gym on Monday so I can get back to jogging.

Planning my trip to Florida in (EEKS!) two weeks.

Blessings today,
Michelle

Angela - You're doing great and will look terrific in that dress. Oh, and you will be able to breathe.

Michelle - Glad you're doing better. There's a lot of nasty stuff going around. Good luck in your decisison. I always take no gain as a plus.

I'm having a good day today. I got up early and did some cleaning and strength training before work. Going home tonight and doing more cleaning. My husband is coming home tomorrow night and I want the housework done before then so I can spend my time with him.

Thanks, Nancy - feeling almost back to normal (whatever that is!) Have had a pretty busy work week and have to make some major decisions about my trip to the States. I'm supposed to leave in just over two weeks and haven't booked my flight yet!

No gain, no loss this week. Guess that's good because I was "feeding my cold" and couldn't do any high-intensity exercise. Hope to finally get back to jogging next Monday at the gym. In the meantime, I walk!

Blessings today,
Michelle

Woohoo, Angela - Size 10! I need to check your page to see if you've got a photo of this famous dress.

Thanks for the encouragement, Nancy! WTG on those challenges!

I went back to work yesterday and it went pretty well. I was very tired last night, but somehow still didn't sleep well. Today, I have some time off between teaching lessons, so I can get a short rest in, so I'm thankful for that.

I really miss running! I feel so lazy but I know I need to get more rest before I'm 100% again.

Blessings today,
Michelle

Michelle - It's important to listen to your body. Don't worry about not burning extra calories until you start to feel better. I hope that's soon!

Angela - Wow! Size 10 is great! I was excited that the size 12s I got for Christmas fit. One pair of pants is a little snug, but I'm hoping not for long.

I've been doing great on my exercise and much better on my food intake. I've signed up for several challenges to keep myself motivated.

IKWYM! It's only about 20 here in southern Germany. Ireland is REALLY cold right now, though. One of my co-workers just got back from there and was talking about how dangerous it is on the icy streets.

I've got a cold but didn't need to go out today except to empty the trash. I did that very fast. Hoping I can go to work on Monday.

In the meantime, I'm doing some light indoor exercise to keep my streak going. And probably eating a bit too much for the lower calorie output, but I'm taking it easy on myself for now...

Stay warm, everyone!

Blessings today,
Michelle

Thanks, Nancy - the new year is getting off to a slow start for me. I've got another nasty cold like at the beginning of December, but feel worse this time - achy and sick. Had the day off today so hope that will help, and that I'll wake up after another good night's rest feeling better! Yes!

BKWMN, again, sorry for the pain you must be going through. It's good to have some healthy goals to keep focused on. Glad you're here on SP and posting.

Blessings today,
Michelle

It's one-day-@-a-time for me right now. I've been overeating or comfort eating the last few days; my husband & I decided to divorce on Sunday. Took off my rings last night, but will continue to wear my engagement ring on another finger, as it was my grandmother's.

Very tired, emotionally drained, have a neck-ache that I'm sure is stress related; just hanging in there right now. Glad SparkPeople is here, and I have a ton of support from other friends.

Thanks.

Wow, it's been over a week since I posted here! I guess we've all been busy with the holidays. I gained a kilo but have lost it again, so am rejoicing that I can say I lost one whole pound in December. My goal was 3. Oh well...onward into the New Year.

Just finished sending goodies to the top 20 in fitness minutes for the team. Working on my January goals list and may even post some goals for the year, although that seems kind of overwhelming!

Happy New Year!

Blessings today,
Michelle

Michelle - It is had to share them but I try to be flexible. My mom was never flexible and it made things a lot harder for us. I wish we could spend more time with them, but I don't say anything to them because I don't want to cause them stress.

Sounds like a plan, Nancy! It must be hard to "share" the kids with other family members, but that's how it is. Enjoy your day today!

I'm back to tracking today. I'm still so full from yesterday, I need to choose carefully what I eat today. Not eating is NOT an option.

I slept in and plan to stay in my jammies till early afternoon :)

Christmas was celebrated with friends at their home last night and it was lovely. No more commitments for the rest of the weekend except for a little gathering at a friend's tomorrow afternoon, and church on Sunday.

I haven't exercised since Tuesday and haven't tracked all week. We spent this evening with my DIL's family and had appetizers for dinner. Tomorrow my kids will be over for breakfast. My daughter will spend most of the day but my son and his wife have to be at her Dad's for Christmas lunch. They'll only get to spend a couple of hours with us before they have to leave. I don't like it, but that's the way it is. Saturday is Christmas at my in-laws. I'll start tracking again on Sunday.
