Been busy, busy with my daughter back in town. Got in a couple of runs, but still having heel pain issues... ugh.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

Good run yesterday. I know I need to take a week or so off to see if the heel eases up, but I don't want to! Maybe after the Turkey Trot... I'm going to be really close on hitting my 1000 mile goal this year - don't want to stress about it, but missing it by just a few miles would make me crazy!

Kimmie - you will LOVE Savannah. We went last spring for a 3-day get-away with our daughter. Check out vacation rentals there - we got a nice town house (2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, living room, off-street parking) within walking distance of the downtown area for about $10 more a night than the "luxury" hotels...

Still haven't wrapped my head around planning for races next year. Been a bit burn out by my heavy travel schedule this year. And my left heel is acting up...

Going to run outside at lunch - high 40's and no snow yet...

Had a lovely 3 miles run yesterday, today was strength training with Bob Harper which was to lovely. I hate him. But he is pretty. :::sigh::::
Anyway, we are now looking into doing RnR in Savannah, which I hear is so beautiful! I am thinking this will be a go, and asked the hubs to pay for the race as my Christmas gift, and I will save up for the rest after Disney is over.
Happy Hug a Runner Day to all!

Beautiful, sunshiny but cold day - and of course I have to travel for work and will miss my afterwork run with the Fleet Feet group. Bah humbug. I did do an extra treadmill run yesterday, so my mileage won't suffer much.

Dressed up a bit today as I'm off to the head office. I may need to re-think my "normal/casual" work wardrobe - way too many people are commenting on my current outfit!

Had a gorgeous run on Saturday - actually got into the 50's - I had geared up for a cold run, walked outside and went back in and changed to shorts and short-sleeves! Nice 8 miler. Sunday was horribly windy, and I spent a frustrating few hours shopping for new clothes. Now - the average American woman is 5 foot 4 inches tall. I'm 5 foot 3.5 inches tall. So.... why do I have to shorten petite pants by more than an inch!

Welcome back TLC! Of course you can re-join! Speed walking is faster than I am some days (I got passed by a race-walker in the last 100 yards of one of my half-marathons...)

Kimmie - Sometimes I think planning is half the fun. I'm looking at a couple of things for next year, but I usually do a half in May and our schedule for May is up in the air. We'll be helping my daughter move when she graduates, and her plans are still up in the air. I may look for something in April, or June...

Hi Jen - I really do think knowing others are out there running helps a lot. Makes you feel like we are all in this journey together. Keep on plugging!

Hello. Meant to check in on Friday, but computer was slow and I was tired. Did another 2 miles on the treadmill. Feeling good. Hoping to get outside today. I love to hear what everyone else is doing- makes it easier for me somehow. Thanks!

Loving all the new faces!
Looking like Vegas is out, we just cannot find decent flights, so now I am considering Wine and Dine instead, or Rock n Roll Vegas, Fall 2014. Hmmm…...

Can I join again.... I had a great workout this morning around a lake. felt good to be moving in the nice cool weather....

Kinda of proud of myself today - still struggling with clean eating, but I have been tracking and managed a 4-day streak of staying in range. And even with driving to a remote office and then rushing back to make my "girls dinner nite" I managed to squeeze in a short treadmill workout yesterday.

And I stuck it out for a very cold, really windy run with my running buddy on Wednesday.

Like everybody I don't have a lot of extra time. I am starting back with the treadmill. Ran 2 miles this evening. Felt good so far :-) Thinking about signing up for a 5k in the next month or two. That's all.

Welcome aboard Sophie and JenMarie! We usually chit-chat on the Monthly thread, and every month I start a mileage challenge. It's very flexible - you set your own goal for miles for the month and then log your miles there.

Kimmie has a really ambitious running schedule, and I'm kind of "going dormant" for the winter - running just for fitness with no races planned until next spring. (except for the Turkey Trot). Looking for a good 1/2 marathon in the spring, but waiting to see what plans evolve around my daughter's graduation in May.

Hi guys, can I join in??? emoticon

I've just found this group. I've been back running for about 3 weeks now and I'm progressing really well. I'm following a 10k plan right now. I just ran 5k on Sunday as part of my training, I managed it in 32:00 which I was really pleased with! I don't have any goals for time, I'm more focussed on making the distances right now.

I'm looking forward to getting to know some like minded people.

Hi all! I have subscribed to this team for a few years, but have never really used any of the teams. I've run in the past- did 5 half marathons, but stopped training a few years ago. I am starting to train again and I feel like this team might be a good place to support me. So it looks like you log your miles here and talk about your runs. I can do that. If there is anything else that might help me on my journey please let me know. Thanks! Jennifer

Ran outside - windy and cold, but at least the rain held off until we'd finished. Would have been on the treadmill except a couple of our beginners wanted to go outside so I went with them. The power of peer pressure...

Hi Kimmie - after 3 new modems in 2 weeks they finally decided to check other parts of the system, and fingers-crossed, I am back on line! Whew! Boy do you have an ambitious race schedule plotted out! (Maybe DH will give you Vegas as a Christmas present?)

I finished my 13th Half in 2013 on Saturday, in Trenton NJ. It was a beautiful race but I ran out of steam at mile 8 and finished kinda slow. It was a great feeling regardless, and I am now thinking of my big goals for 2104 other than the two marathons. I think I am gonna go for 14 halfs, but do a lot of Virtuals to keep costs down.
Speaking of costs, I can not get the hubs to commit 100% to Vegas. He giveth and methinks he is about to taketh away.
I am sad.
But not devastated. If he doesn't follow through I may do Wine and Dine in the Fall instead. Hmmmm…..

Good luck with the internet Carol, I hate when mine is on the fritz!

Internet down all weekend, so haven't been checking in... cable company has replace our modem three times... finally replaced a different piece of equipment so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it might stay up for a while...

Ran 8 on the treadmill because it was really windy out Saturday. For a Buffalo girl, I'm a real weather-wimp!

Diva night at Fleet Feet last night. Met my running bud for dinner first, then off to big bargains and silly games. Had a good time.

Kimmie - yayy for destination races! Vegas would be a fun one for sure!

Good luck at your race Rich!
I love my stick, most of the time, and I have a foam roller, but I never use it. I really should get into the habit!
The hubs has mostly agreed to take me to Vegas in April to run a Half there. I am trying not to get too excited, in case it doesn't work out, but I reeeeaaaally wanna go!
My last half of the year is Saturday, and then on Sunday I get to watch the hubs race 75 miles…on a dirt bike. I rarely get to see him race, he mostly volunteers, so I am excited!

Ran with the Fleet Feet group last night. But my buddies who run at my pace didn't show up so it was a mostly solo run in the dark and rain. I was over-dressed as my mind equated dark with cold and it was actually pretty mild. Glad I went and did it though.

Rich - I have a love-hate relationship with my foam roller and "stick". I need to use them a lot mroe than I do. Did you have a lot of downhills? My last half had a couple of really long downhills and I was trashed afterwards.

Hey all.
We do have one where we try to beat a train. That is a 13 odd Km one. It's a fundraiser for the historical steam engine line.

Man my quads are smashed after the last couple of runs can someone say ouch foam roller.

Finally getting back into the routine of cross-training and stretching... boy are my hamstrings tight!

Rich - the race sounds neat. Don't you do another one where you are trying to beat a train or something? Helps to have an incentive.

Ran outside at lunch yesterday - quite chilly! SO hard to make that shift to cold-weather running... but want to keep our lone beginner who is still running out as long as she wants!

Weekend getaway with my sister-in-law. Got in a couple of nice walks around the lake, but no running. Was restful, except she was pushing herself to walk on a bad knee... practically had to tie her down to get her to ice it. Ate decently, but drank way too much.

It's a new month, and a new week - back to tracking!
