Hi Gayl,
I know what you mean about your lab walking you. My boyfriend has a black labradollie - she loves it when I'm there - we walk at least 2 km in 20 minutes, 3 times a day, but in the spring til fall - its 5 kms 3 times a day in about 50 minutes... it keeps me going - I don't see any weight loss, but I feel energized after those walks, and look forward to my time with Billie!

We can't have a dog in our apartment, and unfortunately cats are not as big on the walking on a leash thing as dogs are. My husband talks from time to time about getting a leash so that he could take our younger cat out for walks, but I don't think it would work out too well. She likes to sit on the windowsill and look out the window, but she never, ever tries to sneak out the front door. I took her with me to check the mail, and she was really frightened and quite happy to get back in the apartment. So I guess we'll just have to be content to walk with each other.....without a leash, of course. emoticon

There was much rejoicing!

I have a black lab that walks me instead of me walking her. She is (10) ten years old and still very spry!! I would love to be able to walk her again.

I try to walk my dog 30 minutes each day. Sometimes the weather is not great and we miss that day. Both dog and I enjoy the walks emoticon

Our dog won't 'go' in the backyard, so she gets 3 walks per day, and mine is the night walk. I have met more of our neighbours with the dog than I met in the 13 years before we got her.

It's pouring rain in northern IL, so I can't today. I'll have to make it up to 'my (4-legged) girl' the next day available, weather wise, as we both need it! emoticon

Wish I had a dog, but I run around the house with my cat

Some say "A dog is man's best friend".....I can't disappoint my dog, so I try to walk him at least 30 minutes every day. These walks are good for BOTH of us and I know there would be days I would not walk if it were not for the excitement displayed by my little guy when He see his harness & leash...I just have to get my walking shoes on too.

Good for you! I only managed 20 minutes today, but then, I didn't have a dog with me!
