I guess I haven't been here as much as I had been. I'm pretty much am nearly done for Christmas.

Today my husband and I went shopping for each other and also got some snacks and replenished things like Kleenex, and cleaning items. For example, we had to find toilet cleaner with hydrogen peroxide than bleach ( we have a septic system ), and some more natural cleaners.

We still had some money on a gift certificate and a Bath, Bath, and beyond discount coupon,so we replaced our cookware. Our cookware was very old. It was in good shape, except for two problems. Some of the handles had fallen off. They had wanted 15.00 each one. It was stainless steal, heavy duty, and Amway. Then the bigger issue was that wasn't flat four our flattop stove here. So it was taking a very long time to cook anything. This on isn't induction ( they cost more ), but can be used for either type.

it seems as if the other family did not hardly ever clean it or take care of the system. The bottom is missing from inside the oven.

When we moved in, the oven and refridge was exceptionally dirty.

So we are pretty set up now.

We had snow for several days. it was pretty. I was glad however, that it 2/3 melted now. I was itching to get out. In fact one day, I wore my husbands nice snow boots outside. I looked like a clown, by my feet, but I liked getting outside without slipping...

I hope we get some activities and social life eventually. I think this is the hardest part.

They were very nice and helpful in the store, and laid back.

I got a lecture via text from a church leader. She gave me rundown of how and why we should be welcoming and invite people over and that sort of thing. Basically, she was telling us all the reasons people lose contacts and have to move on. I have to admit, I was a little bugged, because we have tried all the things she stated and then some other ideas, I gave out my phone number, and invited at least 5 people over here, or at a public place.

I know its Christmas now, but when we came it was August.

Anyhow, it must be that God wants our foundation to be all about Him, but we haven't had much luck at church. At least we finally met the pastor two weeks ago, and a few others, because I kept saying something to the greeter a few times. That was more productive than the information counter.

Cherriet, what do you like about the newer church ?

I was surprised that the non denominational Christian churches in this area, were more liberal than CA. At least in this spot. Some of them are using a newer bible translation, that removes some basic doctrine.
