I try to control myself with smaller portions than I used to take, not necessarily eliminating something else. (I've already eliminated almost all carbs.) All carbs are gotten from either vegetables, fruit or nuts. I'm not really counting them, but its got to be a small # with that kind of restrictions

For me, it's about understanding that I truly am a compulsive overeater/food addict. I'm working on changing my MIND so that I can change my BODY.

I've got to admit my husband keeps me on track. He's altered his cooking to accommodate my low carb diet, and he'll sometimes just make a small portion of pasta or potatoes just for him. I don't mind a slong as I have enough of my own vegetables.. He cooked up a large batch of both brussel sprouts and green beans, then packed them each in individual portions and froze them for future use. That way when he's in the mood for something I don't eat (which is many times) he can just defrost a portion at a time.

It seems to be working for me. My husband does all the cooking, and he portion controls it, too. And it doesn't bother me when I see him eating noodles or English muffins. I have the end goal within sight. A minimum of 25 more to go, and an imaginary 50 if I'm really lucky!

Y'all wouldn't even want to know me if I had to do NO Carbs! But I do agree that cutting back on them and sugar is a great way to lose/keep weight off. :)

One of our friends started a NO carb diet, but she has other medical problems, so she really sticks to it. I basically cut out all actual sugars, but I do have fruit and nuts every day as a dessert as we watch television at night. We even changed from Splenda to Stevia, as that reduced the carbs, too.

Tracking food has to be one of the top helps. For me I like sticking to the 50%, 30%, 20% is the most difference I found. I , at one time, was tracking food and staying under on calories, but, my fat percentage was always over. Now I seldom ever go over on it and I have lost better. However, I see my carbs percentage going up and my protein going down, so, I know I need to make some changes again and I will!

Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Phil 2:3-4.

At one time I was 220 lbs. I got down to 190 for the longest time. Now I am at 173, Still hoping to get to 150, which would still be ore than my highest pregnancy weight all 3 times. I'm trying it with VERY limited carbs. (Not no carbs!)
