My favorite exercise is walking.

And, while NOT my favorite, I really think these are the MOST IMPORTANT: leg abduction and adduction with my resistance bands. I'm 70, and these are giving me better balance. (An important aspect of fall prevention)!

Hi SP Friends! Enjoying the summer challenge.

My fitness go to is walking and stationary bike. At work I try to do 10-20 wall push-ups when I go to the bathroom. We have a separate counter which is a little higher. Works out the arms. One day they won't be so flappy.

As for the nutrition challenge, I bring lunch to work every day. Generally consists of a salad and some fruit and veggies for snacking. Love to grill - and we do so all year round even in the Chicago cold. Nothing better than veggies on the grill. I always make too much food. Great leftovers!

One of my favorite foods this time of year is pineapple! I plan to make a banana/pineapple smoothie soon! Will be refreshing!

If I were to name a favorite exercise, It would be anything using my stability ball! I have been a fan of the ball for many, many years!

Good afternoon everyone!! My fav exercise of all time has to be stationary cycling. I love the cardio burn I get on that sucker. Changing up the intensity to incorporate hill climbs is an added bonus!!

Hello everyone!
Unfortunately I hate exercising, but I LOVE walking! Especially around the neighborhood. I take different routs to make it more interesting.

I ate a Bumble Bee tuna pouch for lunch yesterday and had some strawberries and blackberries afterwards.

Racey and got our morning walk in 1 mile ! before it warmed up took the neighbor her milk came home for breakfast and water it warming up. I moved to the next Spark level 21 only 50,000 to the next one !!!!!!!!!!!!! Going to lunch with two cousins one is here visiting from AZ and one of the sisters Marcia.

Hello all!

Share an exercise you like:
Last week I was camping and got back into swimming in the lake. I can't believe how long it had been since I've done that. I've now gone 5 times in the past week and will definitely be making it a priority this summer! Not only do I feel exhausted afterwards, it's a lot of fun and my muscles are slightly sore which is a great feeling.

I just finished reading the 7 worse restaurant foods in America. Wow! A burger that has all your needs for the whole day in it. I never thought of how bad I was treating my body with just food. The article was mind opening and blowing. WOW!

Week 6 bingo - nutrition - share a healthy food. I love to put spinach in my eggs in the morning and round out my meal with raspberries. I get my fruit/veges and fiber all to get ,y day started on the fight foot.

Bingo - fitness - share an exercise you like. My favorite core exercise is a plank. Because of my wrists, i do them on my forearms. Started with 30 second ones and worked up to a minute. Then I try to do 5 a day to get in 5 minutes. Great for your core.

Healthy foods I ate this week included arugula, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes......really, just too many to list them all.

I like doing triceps extensions and alternating hammer curls with my 10 pound dumbbells.

I had a healthy BLT for dinner last night using a lot of veggies, homemade guacamole, and sandwich thins. Yum!

An exercise I like to do is stretching/yoga. I always feel so much better after 10-15 minute session.

I ate a really nice chef's salad for dinner tonight:

2 cups red leaf lettuce & romaine lettuce from the garden
1/4 cucumber
1/2 roma tomato
1 hard boiled egg
a couple of radishes (from the garden)
a couple of small carrots (from the garden
1/2 oz cheese
2 tbsp olive oil & vinegar dressing

I love it when we can get fresh vegetables from the garden to eat.

Just harvested the first cucumbers from the garden. We plant the long ones with few seeds. So delicious. My dog loves them too!

My favorite go to food is a peanut butter fold over sandwich. I like it best with a glass of milk.

It is so satisfying.


My favorite exercise is free form dancing. You can do it not matter where you are. You can listen to all sorts of music while dancing. I always feel better afterwards.

My oldest daughter, Tina and her husband live with my Mom and me. Tina is our cook. She can make anything taste GREAT. My Mom use to make salmon burgers for my Dad. I never really liked them so I would eat peanut butter sandwiches with the rest of the meal. Well today I ate Salmon burger. It was GREAT. I don't know what she did different but I am ready for another Salmon Burger meal now.

I read the article 5 SMART EXERCISES TO SUPPORT YOUR KNEE. And I have been doing all of them but one. So Saturday I added the new knee exercise to my other knee exercises. It was hard to do but I did it. But today my left knee and right lower back are sore. skipping knee exercises today just resting. I will try to do them Monday.

Good Morning Everyone!!

My favorite healthy food is homemade chicken veggie soup. Hamburger soup would be second favorite. I like soup!!

I like to row for my cardio. I have a machine in my home gym and use it everyday. I use free weights and resistance bands for strength training.

For my exercise, I love cardio kickboxing. I have several DVD workouts that I do. emoticon

Healthy foods this week - a few salads and I make a breakfast muffin that is made from eggs/egg whites spinach, tomato, and scallions

For my exercise I love walking on the trails!

Healthy food - I made some dried chick peas! Love the crunch for quick snack and loaded with fiber!

Happy Weekend All! I love riding my bike, and with the heat and humidity we are having, I am glad that I do most of my riding at night (With all the safety equipment).

I made a cucumber, tomato, and sweet onion "salad" that marinates in white balsamic vinegar in the fridge. It keeps well, since it is slightly pickled, and is totally delicious on top of field or spring greens with a little bit of Feta cheese. Best part, the balsamic acts as a dressing for the greens!

I've been working on my 'Bingo Wings'. Tricep exercises are great for working on BINGO Wings and perfect for this week's BINGO Challenge!



Here is one of my favorite exercises. I use a 5 pound weight, 12 reps and 2 - 3 sets. Give it a try:

Dumbbell Triceps Kick Backs

Step forward with your left leg to create a wide but stable stance between both feet. Bend front knee and straighten back leg. Hinge forward from your hips with a straight back, placing your left hand on your left thigh and gripping a dumbbell in your right hand, palm facing the body and weight hanging directly underneath your shoulder. Bend right elbow (about 90 degrees) to lift weight toward your shoulder.

Well, it has been so hot lately, I have been enjoying my Leslie Sansone's walking workouts. I believe there was only one day this week I was able to enjoy a nice long walk outdoors. Hopefully next week will be better. As far as the healthy food goes, I enjoyed some sweet watermelon this week!

I love chia pudding, I make mine with 1% milk, maple syrup, vanilla and chia seeds, mix in a mason jar and put in fridge overnight, in the morning I add blueberries and walnuts, it’s my breakfast every other day

For my BINGO:

An exercise I like is riding my recumbent bike. I'm not a fan of exercise in general, but I can keep my mind busy while I ride by reading, watching TED Talks, or things like that.

A healthy food I like is rainier cherries. Yum! They've been a great dessert swap-out for me lately.

For my bingo:

I had grilled green beans last night.

I don't have a favorite exercise. I like trying different things and mixing it up. I enjoy the ST circuit at the gym and walking on the trail. I'm even getting better on the elliptical.

I made Chia pudding yesterday. Chia seeds, Coconut milk, and vanilla flavored zero calorie sweetener. Add some berries and it is a nice replacement for some of the high calorie desserts.

Even the pinkest flamingo starts off grey.

I've been slowly increasing on the Hammer Curl Ab Machine at the gym. I'm now up to 2 sets of 12 reps. You're basically using your body weight PLUS however much weight you add. Here's a video of the machine.

My favorite exercise is walking outdoors, especially early in the morning. I like the quiet of that time of day.

One of my favorite healthy meals is a tortilla filled with sauteed bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, grilled corn, salsa and a little Mexican cheese blend. Serve it with some fresh summer fruit. Yum!
