Good Morning all, Where is everyone? No posts since 9/30. I've been away for the weekend, and checked here to get my morning weight-loss inspiration, and was disappointed.
Joy, your last post is so true, we can have everything else in life, but if we miss out on the Lord and His purpose, we've missed the best. The only thing that matters at the end of this earthly life is our relationship with Him. Of course, once that's settled, our relationship with our children, family, friends, etc. will be better, if we look to the Lord for guidance. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Donna

Welcome newbies :) It is good to have you with us and I do hope we can be an encouragement to you.
"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you..."
Oh how I want to make this so in my life. I can worry about my weight, and worry about my children, and worry about all sorts of things, but if I put Him first, and seek His Kingdom, all these things will fall into place!! Praise His Name!

Joy

Success is the sum of small steps repeated day in and day out...

I agree, Celeste - we do have so very much to be thankful for each day, most of which we take for granted. I sincerely appreciate your words of encouragement (you've made such a difference in my days lately - thank you)!

Good Day all
I am motivated to encourage. We have so much to be thankful for. Shall we all agree to thank God for the very air we breathe and this way of communication? God bless you and keep you safe.

Hi there Unclebob
So glad to have another prayer warrior here.
I also just read your prayer aloud.
I went for my walk outside today with praise plugged into my ears, a song in my heart, and renewed strength in my spirit.
Have a wonderful day in Him.

Hello All! Praise God.
I am new to this team. I have been playing around with this site for a couple of weeks but I guess I was overwhelmed by the awesomeness of this site and also I was looking at every other site on the net. Well, sparks people is the one for me. I have been guided to this site by the Lord and I feel as always if I do not follow his lead I am going to be in trouble. I love saying a prayer and would love to share a prayer for you all at this time:

Dear Most Gracious Father
Please help us, guide us, and support us in our weight loss challenges that all of us will meet our goals. Please keep all healthy and motivated in thier efforts and please guide them to our team here if any support is needed. God Bless you All.

Hi, One of the Beatitudes (which I was reading yesterday) is "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled", and another verse, I don't have my Bible right here so I don't know the 'address', is, Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.
I've read that the version of the Bible that you should read is the one you WILL read. I think if you do this prayerfully, the Lord will direct you to the one that's best for you. I grew up with the KJV so that's the one I use mostly, my husband did not attend church at all, and was over 30 when he got saved, so cannot adjust to the KJV, he reads the New Amer Standard. Actually he started with some modern translations, and gradually settled on the NAS. My daughter has the New KJV and likes that.
Speaking of which, I have to go do my devotions now, I got sidetracked and arrived in front of the computer before I should have. I don't need Satan to lead me away from the Word, my own inclinations, even when 'good', can do that. Bye for now. God bless your day. Donna

His Word is Alive. Thats amazing.
He is never late, always on time to meet us with what we need.
Father, thank you so much for today. Thank you for the fresh start and Jesus thank you for interceding on our behalf to the Father. Continue to strengthen and watch over us that we might grow to know You more. We love you and thank you again for this chance we've been given to renew these temples. Bless those who read these words and their families. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen

Donna - Reading your words was like speaking them for myself. Lately, though, I have to admit that I find myself picking up my Bible more, and reading the one (I have 4 or 5) that is easiest for me to understand and retain, know what I mean? And I remember somewhere - in either a Beth Moore study or a Kay Arthur study - being told that we should have a thirst for the word. I think that's where I'm headed, and it sounds like you are too. emoticon

Hi Celeste, Your comment that you need to get into the Word deeper touched me. I have been thinking for some time now how much easier it is to read devotionals and other books ABOUT the Bible, than it is to read the Bible itself. I don't mean that we shouldn't read the others, but I'm aware that I need to devote more time to the inspired Scriptures and to meditate on them a lot more than I do. I seem to rush through my Scripture reading then grab on to something to explain it, rather than letting the Lord talk to my heart about it. I'm glad the Lord is convicting me of this, it will be an important step in my growth if I follow His lead.
Good morning to you all. Have a blessed day. Donna

Good morning, Celeste!
I haven't read any of Joyce Meyers' books but I do know her work. I've been reading Kay Arthur's books and I'm doing a Bible Study class at church by Beth Moore on the book of Daniel (I absolutely love the way she teaches - so energetic, so moving!). We are also finishing up a Kay Arthur book in my Life Group at church called LORD ONLY YOU CAN CHANGE ME. Just wanted to pop in and say hi to you this morning - just finished my morning work out so I need to get ready for work. Have a wonderful day in the Lord! emoticon

I so agree with that. I just stopped off at wallyworld after church to see if they had some of the lastes Joyce Meyer's books. Yep they did, and yep I got em.
Had a wonderful service tonight. I got to intercede for a dear friend. He didn't tell me what the problem was but gave me the heartache that she is going through. Wow, I just held her and cryed from the depth of my heart. Isn't God so good?!!!!
Body is ministry is so awesome. I need to get into the Word tomorrow and little deeper.
I am so thankful for this site and for you.
Have a wonderful evening and I will talk in the morning.

That sounds so wonderful. I'd like to build a house on a piece of land away from all the hassles of a subdivision, but close enough to a gas station, a grocery store and a shopping area so that I dont have to drive more than 10 miles to get there. (LOL) I think I am on a site or two with PRINCESS. That's one of the neat things I really like about SPARK - I'm meeting some really fascinating folks!

Hi Celeste - I'll just bet it's beautiful up your way with all the colors now. Yes, worship service was a blessing, I always look forward to being in the Lord's house. I pray with you, too, for your drummer's father to get to know the Lord. Have a great rest of the weekend!

Everything is changing color now. We usually have Indian Summers. So pretty.
Hope you had a great day in service. We had a guest speaker. He was good.
Good alter call, too.
Our drummers father was with us today. He lives in NY. We were told he did not know the Lord. We are praying that the Holy Spirit gets hold of him before he leaves.
I'd better get.
bye for now

I'm from the southeast and its shorts and t-shirts for us most of the time, too. I've been to the northeast - beautiful part of the country up that way, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing. More of God's splendor!

Hi Yolanda, I'm new this week too, and am delighted to have found this site and these lovely, God fearing people, who are so very helpful.
I've had a good day, moments when I want to eat something inappropriate, but the Lord is right there when I call on Him, so the calorie count is under 1600. Thank you Lord.
I've never been to Tx. I live in the Northeast, lovely shorelines, gorgeous fall foliage, wonderful mountains, and then there's snow. Oh well, we can't have it too perfect. So welcome aboard, Goodnight and God bless. Donna

I married the sweetest Texan 28 years ago and still going strong. He was born in San Antonio. His family moved to Housten when he was in High School. His mother and one sister still live there. We lost his other sister this past Dec. She had lived in Huffman. His grandfather left us property in Austin. Close to the Sansung plant. He also has cousins in the Austin area and in Galveston. Oh, and did I mention Fredricksburg.
Yes, I know Texas. I place I never thought I would go when I was young. Now I place I hold near and dear to my heart. Don't mess with Texas I do understand!!!
I have even been to Mule Shoe Texas and bought cowgirl boots!

Father, I love you and thank you for Donna. Would you please touch her back as you have mine so many times, and ease the muscles spasms if thats what it is. Father, watch over her as she steps out in faith doing more and more active motions. Strengthen each one of us so that we might be better equipped to serve others. I thank you for all the many things you do for us and for who you are in our lives.
Watch over us Holy Spirit and help us to draw closer to Jesus. In Jesus precious name, Amen

Good evening Celeste, I just got home from Prayer meeting and have an hour free before bed- I'm an 'early to bed, early to rise' type. I love getting up at 5am, getting my coffee and greeting the day with the Lord. I spent too many years rushing around to head for work at 6:30, now I just enjoy the peace and quiet. When I first retired I would rush out to the Y to work out, then I realized I was not enjoying my retirement. Now I head out to the Y at 10am, much better. I work out in the gym for 45 min on the machines, then go to the pool for 30 min. I can't figure out how to account for my workout in the fitness section of Spark, they don't show the machines that I use, I've been able to approximate the upper body stuff, but not the lower body. I'm not all that savvy re the computer, so maybe it's there and I can't find it. When my daughter comes to visit she fixes my problems, so I guess I'll have to be patient.
My workout has been minimized the last few days, I pulled something in my back when I was gardening, so am taking it easy for now. Poor timing for that, just as I'm getting the food thing under control and want to see IMMEDIATE results. I'm not exactly patient. But I do see results in spite of the limited exercising, so thank the Lord for that.
I'm envious of you getting your closets in order for the next season, I usually start looking for sweaters and boots when I see the first snowflake. In my defense, you never know, in New England. The weather is not very predictable, and I wouldn't want to do all that work and then not get any snow. Of course that hasn't happened in the 39 years we've lived up here, but you never know.
Now I'd better say goodnight. God bless, and keep you pushing through and walking. Donna

Good day to you Donna
I just finished my exercises. And now off to do laundry. I need to take all the summer clothes out of the closet and put the winter back in. Seasons are great but they do take a little work. This is my third day back at the exercise. I had been so involved with a church project that the last week and a half I didn't do what I should have. It really feel like I have taken 3 or 4 weeks off from my normal routine. Praise the Lord, when I looked back over my calendar it hadn't been that long.
It is so easy to eat out of the habit and so wonderful when you can push through to do it. Today I did Leslie Sansome walk the walk 1 mile and the 2 mile. They are christing walking tapes that are wonderful.
I hope you have a great day and I will check in later.
Bye

Hi Bill, I've been on and off that wagon many times, but by the grace of God, each time I gained it was never quite as much as I lost, so over the period of 10 years I've come down 100 lbs.- 55 more to go. I just found this site 4 days ago, and am so very glad I did. I've longed for a Christian group for many years. This is an answer to prayer. I've been a Weight-Watcher member many times, and like their method of diet control, but much prefer Christian input and Godly encouragement, which I find here.
To God be the Glory.

Hi,

I am new to this team. I tried spark people last year and fell off the wagon. I am back on track and want to connect with others who are traveling this journey. Last time I didn't really rely on the support of the various forums and teams. Hopefully this new ingrediant will make a difference.
