I have the old 205 and it's amazing. Worth every penny. It's so nice to not have to map your route ahead of time and it's a lot of fun to see all the "stats" about your run.

Also, Adrian, if we could find some gadget to do the workout for us, we'd be millionaires, LOL. emoticon

Hi there!

I bought my Garmin as a reward for passing six months of continuous running. I love it-never leave home without it. The only negative I can think of is mental-sometimes I become too dependant on it, and look at it too much. Then I have to do a few runs without it to break out of the cycle.

Definitely a recommended product!

I bought a Garmin 305 last week. I'm new to running, as a former racewalker who's determined to at least run a 5k race at some point.

I'm doing a modified version of the 28-week conservative program on the Beginning Triathlete.com website, and I'm ramping up on racewalking, so I'm currently walking, racewalking, and jogging in any given workout.

The 305 is great because I can program it to see how long each walk, racewalk, and jog interval should be. And I can track my improvements. It was well worth the money I spent on it!

I have two Garmins, one for running/multisport, one for cycling.

Best thing ever, for me. But then again, I'm a data geek so the more numbers I have to look at, the better.

Cons? Doesn't do the training for you.

Best running gadget ever. Like others, I've got the 305 and have used it on the run and ride since 2007.

I have a 405 and I love mine too. I got a pretty good deal on e-bay on a brand new one. I also use it for biking.

I was thinking of getting one of those Garmin GPS training watches so I knew how far I went when I was out. I know some people out there have them, would you spend the money again to get one or go without???
Can you let me know the pros and cons???
Thanks
