1. Do tasks - some light housekeeping

2. Make music - some Gordon Lightfoot on youtube including The last time I saw her face

3. Get active - 30 minute walk around the corn fields with the dogs, 15 minute indoor row, some Tai Chi

4. Read - still assembling my materials - DIL said to take Normal People off my list, it was recommended by her book club, but she doesn't like it

5. Reflect - a great day - DH and I met with DIL for lunch and took Ollie home - did some fields walking and apple picking with Ollie and Frida, light workouts today, a relaxing day and planning to go to bed by 10:45

Tasks for tomorrow - grocery shopping, book the World Rivers Day canoe trip, sign up DH and myself for the last 5k run of the year, go walking with BFF and later with the bro, regular housekeeping routines and a load of laundry

Sunday

1. Do tasks - nothing apart from washing up today.

2. Make music - I listened to the radio - I even sent a message to the presenter to tell her how much I enjoyed it - and got a shout-out on local radio!

3. Get active - I did 16 mins of hill-running repeats this morning and in the afternoon I went for a lovely circular walk of about 90 mins - about 6 km. Not a long walk, but tough terrain; hilly and rocky.

4. Read - I watched a film this evening, instead of reading. But I also read the whole of a short e-book I'd downloaded which was a collection of kind of prose poems.

5. Reflect - getting out for a walk like that is something I need to do more regularly - it does my soul good, and I meet people.

Thursday

1. Do tasks - I cleaned out my fridge (and packed my lunch and dinner for tomorrow at work)

2. Make music - I had the opportunity to play music at work today - classical music, for a change!

3. Get active - I went for a 30 min run after work - despite the mizzly rain

4. Read - I read for 15 mins with my coffee this morning. I've started a new book by Margaret Atwell that is harder to read: "Lady Oracle" - I don't understand all of the references, but I'll persevere and improve my brain! Reading something daily from the New Scientist is proving to be interesting too. Live & learn! I read a story to the person I was supporting today - a chapter from a book by David Walliums called 'The Worlds Worst Teachers!"

5. Reflect -

Ah, I'm half-way through at the moment - where Winston is meeting regularly with Julia, and he's just starting to link up with O'Brien.

There is a big foreword in the copy I have which explains all the edits - but I'm afraid I didn't read it carefully. Interesting that he wrote different versions for USA. It just amazes me how much vision he had!

Wednesday

1. Do tasks - just work today - didn't do any real housework or anything

2. Make music - had the radio on a bit first thing today, and there was some cool music at work

3. Get active - I did over 15,000 steps, and then a 35 min resistance band workout this evening

4. Read - off to bed now - to read!

5. Reflect - I just wrote a very reflective blog - that'll do!

1. Do tasks - finish up laundry, one more load plus dry, fold, put away - go to bed on time tonight and start a streak of that, make a PT appointment, organize one kitchen drawer
2. Make music - satellite radio - classical and baroque
3. Get active - rowing, hiking
4. Read - no plans yet
5. Reflect - having a good day so far but feeling less strong about eating like I should for getting to goal weight, the kids left food behind and I don't want to waste it - strawberries, bananas, ricotta - nutritious food, just don't need to eat too much of it in one day and I don't usually have that, lately I have been about eating fresh fruit on the farm and have apples, pears, the end of the blackberries and the start of the concord grapes. Funny how just a bit of a change from the usual upsets my eating rhythm but also maybe because now that the visiting kids are gone, I am missing them. Plus Ollie went back with DS and DIL too.

Gill, where are you in 1984? The book I read, the foreword said George Orwell edited it and published a slightly different version for release in North America. He was a very meticulous writer in what he wanted to say and how he wanted to say it.

Donna, so sweet your DH is making his mum's cake and you are helping him. 92 - wow !!

I've added the five tasks to the Own My Day planner on the new Start Page. The thing that's not so good about that is that I'm not sharing with other people. It also duplicates my paper BUJO a bit, so not sure how long I'll keep it up.

1. Do a task - I set up my new Start Page!

2. Make music - listened to the radio whilst making my dinner. The show was full of music this evening too - brilliant stuff

3. Get active - I did 10 mins on my rebounder when I got home from work

4. Read - read a precis of Frankenstein before going to the theatre this evening

5. Reflect - here, and on my Own Your Day (on the Start Page)

ah, I like the wellness measure - there are so many good things here on Spark People, but it's often cumbersome to keep clicking in/out of things to find them! Good idea to post them here.

Monday

1. Do tasks - laundry is out on the line (at least for a couple of hours before the rain comes!)

2. Make music - I played the recorder and listened to workout music when I was on my rebounder

3. Get active - not really feeling very active today - but I did 10 mins on my mini-trampoline

4. Read - yes, getting on with my latest novel

5. Reflect - I switched my Start page over to the new one - and started looking at the Own My Day thing with healthy habit planning - reflected on how many things I'm NOT doing!

I'm a bit thrown today as my plan to meet up with a friend has fallen through - so this little list is going to be super-helpful.

1. Do tasks - laundry done; grocery shopping done

2. Make music - practised recorder; listening to music on the radio

3. Get active - did 20 mins resistance band workout (thanks to the Spark Start page today); then did a 2 hr walk which was lovely.

4. Read - I have a new book to start: "Happiness is possible" by Oleg Zaionchkovsky [the blurb says 'Zaionchkovsky has an identifiably Russian, dark sense of humour. His writing is rewardingly risky, his slow-burn structure even more so. And...... his novel will continue to make you think after you've finished it: about love, storytelling and Moscow] - sounds good!

5. Reflect - always

- Improved fitness and nutrition, energy and confidence are my rewards.
It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

I'm off to work for an early shift today - but just posting these 5 things here makes me mindful of them during the day. This evening I also want to treat myself to watching a film and just chill out a bit.

1. Do tasks - I went to work for 8 hours. I also washed my neighbour's front door and window.

2. Make music - I'm still hooked on The Rolling Stones!

3. Get active - I got my trampoline/rebounder out and did 20 mins bouncing

4. Read - I've read three short stories today - and more will be read before I lay down tonight!

5. Reflect - blogging
