Wouldn't work for me - I'd feel so deprived at the loss of a meal that I would have the shake and then eat everything else in sight!...

I think the 'shakes' answer is interesting - I've come to think that it means we do, actually, stop focusing on food - ie, measuring, counting, weighing, choosing, and trying to 'eat sensibly'.

I have started using a protein shake occasionally, and I think it does help me by taking one meal decision out of the mix! Obviously it's not a way to live, long-term, but using GOOD shakes/meal replacements, can be helpful. Perhaps consider using them for one meal a day, or one meal day three times a week etc.

I did the quiz and got shakes - bleh! I am just trying to eat sensibly. Trying to get away from dieting. I'm sure if I stop focusing on losing weight I will lose weight...

Iím excited to join the 100 More round starting in March! I have been away from the team for awhile now, but in the interim, I lost 22 pounds (since July) doing low carb. I have about ten to go to get to my goal weight. Itís getting more difficult for the scale to go down now, and while I am feeling really good about where I am, I get nervous about going back to old habits, so I think the 100 More Days book will be beneficial to me. I bought the book when it came out but didnít read it at all.

I did the quiz and got the traditional plan for my results, so I will be mostly focusing on portion control and eating mindfully, rather than staying exclusively low carb. I do feel better staying away from sugar, bread and pasta though!

Have you decided what diet plan/eating regime you are following while we work through the book?

I know that several people have done the Diet Quiz and found the answers a bit unhelpful - and, of course, it's only a quiz and there are only three answers - but I think it does give you something to think about.

Here's what it says at the bottom of the page

"In reality, you can successfully lose weight regardless of the type of diet plan you choose. So if your answers indicate a different category than youíre comfortable with, go with the type of plan you know works for you."

So - check it out, read the info, then think carefully about what hints it might give you for choosing a diet plan that works for you.

Mine comes out as: Mostly Aís = Traditional Plan

Variety of foods, includes fruits, vegetables and whole grains

and I'd say that was about right for me.

Ah so that's what the funny links are - well my computer doesn't like them so thanks for posting those others for me - the two 100 days ones work but the Friends with the Scale one just goes to another "funny" link. No worries - I will have a look around for them.

Really looking forward to this. I hopefully (if I can stick to my plan for once) won't be posting much, because I want to journal everything in a handwritten journal, post/blog a lot less (just highlights from my journal if anything), and read/do more - I will check in each day to say I'm still working on it though and to read what others have written as much as I can.

Thought I might as well go the whole hog and ordered Friends with the Scale off of ebay too. £4 inc p&p. For me, it makes it more enjoyable and I find it handier to have the actual book(s).

We are book lovers around this house and have a few thousand. Book hoarders? Maybe.

I had never heard of Linda Spangle. I've really enjoyed receiving the emails and look forward to the next batch. Thank you!

Our local hospital thrift shop is our go to place for books, so now that I know about Linda I will keep an eye out for her books. Once a person knows about an author, it's surprising how the books will appear.

I just ordered Life is Hard, 100 Days and 100 More Days on ebay. Planning to read Life Is Hard before the study starts and read both 100 days books together from 1 March. I notice Linda's blogged about each day too, plus about the scales book. I've made a note of what pages her blogs start on so I can check them out too.

I just had a question on the Team Wall about whether or not it's necessary to own the book.

It is much easier if you have your own copy of the book (hard copy or e-book), but there is plenty of material already here on our Lessons threads and on Linda's website, and during the 100 MORE Days of Weight Loss, I will post links to the relevant blogs.

I hope no-one feels they cannot join us because they don't have the book.

Some people have been able to get cheap second-hand copies from Amazon, some have been able to borrow it from the library. From time-to-time Linda does really good offers on her books - and if I spot that, I'll share it with you all.
