thought provoking. there are several times i eat despite not finding the food ok... if i have a choice, she suggests it's ok to not eat it!

oh yeah, i'm on day 25, Smaller Amounts, Less Often.

this has been an ongoing strategy for me. i started with 100 calorie packs & single servings to help get my out of control eating reigned in. i have recently moved to larger packages of some of my fav foods! woot!

i do have to respect my triggers with other foods still, like m&m's & pizza. i will continue working on those as i'm stable & able.

take it at your own pace. i seem to get in a couple days a week ~ mostly because i like to ponder an issue for a few days before moving on.

Other people zip right thru! I get that too :)

I agree Jules.
It's also about finding healthy foods that we can enjoy in moderation....
for me Kraft sugar free and fat free chocolate pudding cups, 60 calories...yet its so smooth and creamy even now after 3 years I feel like I'm cheating .....
we have to find foods that we know we can eat for the rest of our lives so we don't go back to the junk once we reach our goal weight.
This whole journey is about trial and error, just keep going, one day at a time, one meal at a time and see what works, what feels good enough to keep doing it.

that last part is particularly true for me.

i think it helps to look at how food can nourish us & chase that :)

Kitt & Joann (JMarie) were 2 of the first & most encouraging people I met here. I have to say it changed my life in profound ways to find SP & people who are willing to share this stuff. It can be so hard, but it's so nice to know we're not alone :)

Day 16 Still working on eating the first 2 bites and getting the nurturing value out of it. I haven't done the exercise yet. I want to wait until I actually am feeling like I want to have 2 bites of something other than the fuel food. I am beginning to understand how the process is building on itself. Unlike yesterday where I was terrified to take those first 2 bites, today I am looking forward to it. I feel more positive about being able to stop after 2 bites and just let the feeling float in. So I will report later how it felt.

Day 10-appreciate good support.

I'm working on this one. I get all nervous, and tongue tied, when people actually notice me, and give me a compliment. I'm working on it though. I'm trying to give them a smile, and say a simple Thank You.

Great job everyone. You inspire me so much. Thank you for your support in doing this together. I'm on day 27 "Eat dessert when it's special". I'm doing good so far. I did have 2 meals at the table yesterday. One of them was at a restaurant. I did really good with my meal. I put everything i learned so far to good use. I'm giving myself a pat on the back.

Day 15 and doing well. The exercise today was the most difficult for me. I really was terrified to eat 2 bites of chocolate. I am still feeling a little wierd about it and I am willing to trust this process. Thank you all my fellow EE Sparkies who are so supportive.

Happy Friday Everyone. I'm on day 25 "when food disappoints you". I still have to read it. I made my goal of eating 2 meals at the table yesterday emoticon . I will work on that again today. I'm going out for lunch today with my friend. We're going to Carrino's. I'm going to look at the menu and pick something healthy. So when we get to the place i'll already know what i'm having. Then i'm going to put everything i've learned so far into action. I can do it because i'm commited and i'm going to protect my plan at all costs (remember reading these things). Have a great day everyone.

it talks about making sure your eating the right amount. I'll do the exercise today and see if I can eye ball the right amount....I really don't mind weighing my food. but it's not always possible.

MYFAN - you and I have the same issue. We NEVER eat at the table. Not in front of the TV either, just in the living room. We are in an apartment and the table seems so crowded. Maybe I need to arrange the furniture so it's more inviting?
