Not pathetic at all! You have a reasonable goal, it's something you can accomplish and feel good about, and that's a GREAT starting point.

I do 40 minutes of yoga every wednesday, and I try to get it in on monday and friday also. I know i can count on 40 min 4x before the end of the year, and I'll try to make one other class each week = 320min. I also want to try and get in at least 30 minutes of SOMETHING on my own each week. 320 + 150 = 470. Gonna challenge myself to an even 500 minutes this month.

Good luck!

sorry for answering this a bit late I was away and did not have access to a computer :(

My fitness minutes for January (which was some exercise on the first and not tracking todays so technically starting tomm although I will countthe 10 mins of cardio on the first)

will be: 1100 minutes.
I think I can do this. I have mapped out my schedule and also plan on buying the Zumba Wii game for college so I can get my exercise in even when student teaching takes over in a few weeks.
I have taken steps to better my future by writing down my emotions more and focusing on my independence when it comes to achieving my goals. Also, I have begun to try new things. With a major fear of change in routine I look forward to continue my journey and reaching my fitness goals!

My aim in January is to log in 1800 minutes of exercise.
2010 was a mixed bag .... i lost around 25 pounds but somehow after losing all that and just when people began to compliment me - i kind of ran out of steam ...... it wasn't that life got in the way, i just didn't feel like monitoring my food and working out .. i want to be more consistent this time round

I got 3720 cardio minutes the month of December, and I am cutting down so I will try for 3000 for January. I am cutting my walking but going to add to my strength building, so I will try for 3000.
Sparks and me have had a great year, I reached my goal, or within 1 pound, and now I am doing good maintaining, so far, I would like to build muscle, and stamina, I cant say I have it down pat, because that sweet stuff calls me, but I am aware of what I should be putting in my stomach, and usually follow my nutrition program.

I slacked off in December... My goal for January is 800 minutes.

In 2011, I'm going to concentrate more on strength training, particularly strengthening my core, as I think it'll help with my occasional back problems and it'll help me be a better runner!

Be the change you want to see in the world.

My January goal was 930 and I got 802. I had another goal of doing a better job of tracking my minutes and I definitely did that! I'm going to be starting my student teaching so I'm going to only shoot for 700 since I'm not sure how it's all going to go!
I'm really proud of how I've changed my eating habits in 2010. I'm hoping to reach my goal weight in 2011! I'm also hoping to make sure I'm getting enough water! That's always a struggle!

Hi! I'm new to Sparkpeople and to this team.

I'm going to set my cardio minutes goal for 2011 to be 750. I think that sounds like a good start, and with my plan, that should be doable.

I took some major steps toward the end of 2010 to start reaching my goals. I visited a nutritionist, and started following his advice in the beginning of November, and lost 15lbs since doing so. I plan to continue with this, and also add an exercise regime for 2011.

By 12/31/11 I would like to be at my goal weight of 130, and have maintained it for a few months.

I've been doing about 800 the last few months. Made it for December but it was tough with the long weekends.

I'm going to shoot for 1000 in January. Need to amp up my workouts!

In December, my fitness minutes goal was 1,000 and I did 1,565. My goal for January is 1,500 which may be a stretch because it looks like we will be traveling back to DC by train. I can exercise on the train!
I am proudest that I found Spark in 2010. I hope to be more positive and healthier in 2011.

My fitness mintues in total for the month were 1,762 which is higher than the norm for me. I had a goal for the year to get to 20,046 minutes but fell short of that. I got to 17,710.

I think for 2011 I will still aim for 20,046 because it is a stretch goal that requires consistency over the longterm.

I'm down around 85+ pounds in total and about 10-15 lbs from my goal weight.

I'd like to reach goal in 2011 and just move to improve and maintain. I'm scheduled for my first half marathon on March 27th.

Just getting back into the routine...

My Jan goal is 1200 minutes, which I hope is way too low. I need to start the year with some measure of success though!

I reached my yearly goal of 6,000 fitness minutes in 2010! WooHoo!!! This year I will hope to reach at least 18,000. I hope to be active every day, control my emotional eating and lose 50 by the time I turn 51 in December.

You've got three choices in life. Give up, give in, or give it your all.

53 pounds down and approaching goal! WooHoo!

I would like to do 1,000 minutes for the month.
I would have to say that I am proud that I have started eating healthier and working out more. I use to find excuses as to why I shouldn't workout. Now I make sure that I get a workout in everyday. Makes me a happier person to be around. :)

I have just joined the 28 day bootcamp. I've yo-yo'd on 5 lbs for a month now, and I am hoping this will kick it out so I can FINALLY drp below 190.
2011's big goal is to hit my goal weight, January's goal is simply to break this plateau :)

Hi...I only joined a few days ago. I would have to say the thing I am proud about in 2010 would be that I recognized that I can't do this on my own and so searched out a web site that has the powerful information and community that Spark has. I feel lucky to have found Spark!

2011....well....I want to get healthy and in the process lose a lot of weight. I know for me that is a lofty request but I feel that I am up for the challange. I also feel that these daily challanges sound like a really good boost. I do like a challange!! haha

I just joined in Dec. I had a good year in 2010 losing my goal of 52 pounds in 52 weeks. In 2011, I my goal is 26 pounds in 52 weeks or 1/2 a pound a week. My exercise goals are to take 10,000 steps per day and work out 30 minutes per day.

My problem today is that I want to kick up my heels & enjoy my last day before I start me new goals. This can be a diaster tonight when we go to play cards (which means lots of eating & drinking)!!!

My goal for December was 2600 minutes, but I only did 1815.

My January goal will be 2000, allowing for wintry weather.

Challenge 12/31/10: emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Happy Last Day of 2010 to you!

Your challenge today is two-fold.

First, determine how many cardio minutes you want to accomplish in January 2011. If you are just starting out with exercise, start with a lower number and go from there.

Were you with our team all of December? If so, how did you do with your cardio minutes? Exceed them? Had trouble meeting them? Feel free to share your experience with the team.

Lastly, share what you did in 2010 to get you to your goal weight. What steps did you take to a healthier YOU? What would you like to concentrate on in 2011? Where would you like to be by 12/31/11?

I don't like resolutions. So many people start with grand plans, and fail after just a few weeks. For me, I set goals that I can handle. Even if the goal is to be able to jog a certain distance, go without eating junk food for a day, fit into one size smaller by the end of the year....I feel like I can achieve my goal with Sparkpeople supporting me.

What are your goals for 2011? What are you proud of from 2010? Feel free to share. We are ALL here to get healthier.

Have a HEALTHIER, HAPPIER, AND SKINNER 2011 team!
